I found your channel while researching van conversion. This is only the second video I've watched but I definitely teared up a bit when you proposed. Congrats! What an incredible place to get engaged, I will for sure have to make the trip out there someday
Thank you so much!! It’s a really beautiful place. Glad to have you here☺️

Nice
Awesome video. Just curious about fishing gear, tackle etc. What did you use at Lake O'hara? Also any other tips for Yoho / Banff etc. Thanks for sharing!
fishing tips for Yoho/Banff is what i mean... :)
@@GNProductionsMN thanks! Use a small heavy lure with a single barbless hook. Cast far and let it sink. The trick is finding the right depth. Sometimes you have to let it sink all the way to the bottom and slowly reel back in. If you don’t get bites on a couple casts, change what your doing. Good luck!
I've literally just discovered your channel and it's so good! Congrats on the engagement! I've subbed now and I'll be watching every vid ;)
Thank you so much Andy! That means a lot, we’re so happy to have you here😆
👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is my second video and I love them. Congratulations, what a fantastic spot to propose. Hoping to score a bus pass in the lottery this year. As the couple we will be traveling with are not hikers are there any trails you would suggest to try with them? Thanks
Thank you so much 😊 Would highly recommend heading up to Oesa Lake or Opabin Lookout! They are both easier hikes and definitely worth the effort
Hi, wondering which lens did you use on opabin plateau? I’ll going there a month later but wonder if need a 16mm or 20mm is enough. Thank you!
I’d recommend a 16mm! I have the Sony 16-35
Hello David, have you ever hiked from Lake McArthur to Opabin Prospect Viewpoint of Lake Ohara via Schaffer Lake-Mount Schaffer route? Or, do you have any idea about this route, easy or difficult or, how long should it take? Thank you
I haven’t personally done that route but I would really like too! Check out the app alltrails, the route should be on there.
Hi, thanks for your video. I have a couple of questions. 1. How far is the Opabin Plateau from Lake O'Hara campground - one way? I am not planning to complete the entire Alpine Circuit. 2. How far is MacArthur Lake from Lake O'Hara campground - one way? Thanks
Hey Muhammad, thanks for watching! Round trip hikes from the campground are as follows:
Opabin Plateau Circuit: 5.9 km
Elevation Gain: 250 m
Time Required: 3 hours
Mcarthur Lake: 6.3 km round trip
Elevation Gain: 310 m
Time Required: 3 hours
If you’re looking for other distances or hikes from the campground, we have a blog post that goes over all of them☺️

@@madetoexplore Thank you very much for your response.
how long did it take from where you parked?
4-5 hours
@@madetoexplore ok so 5 hrs total going to and back to parking?
@@charlesmagno28 around 9 hrs in total.
Loved watching this video. I agree that Lake O Hara is spectacular! I’ve been fortunate to have gone there in summer and winter. My only complaint regarding your video is the music. I find it so annoying. Sorry 😞
Thanks for watching! Apologies about the music. Unfortunately we can’t edit this after it’s been uploaded.
did you book a spot for the tent? Or it's first come first serve? I couldn't find where to reserve it on website, only bus and frontcamping which is for RV as I understand...
Yes, we reserved a tent site which are very competitive. It’s on the Canada Parks website under Backcountry and Yoho National Park
congrats! i am also planning to do this for the same purpose, however i couldn’t secure a campsite :( would you say this is possible to do in a day hike? (i.e. start at 7:30am and be back by sun down? thank you in advance!
Thank you! Yes I have done this as a day hike before but it’s around 30k in total so bring plenty of snacks and start early☺️
@@madetoexplore thank you for your reply!
Hi... how far is the hike from the campground to the lake/lookout?
I'm planning to take my 6 years old son. Thanks for your time
Hey there, thanks for watching! From the campground to the lake is only about 1 km, from there to the lookout is 6.6 km round trip with 350ish meters of elevation. Hope that helps and you have a great time☺️
You don't have to walk in there you get in there at 3:00 in the morning bike in the 11 km and hide the bike in the bush
Biking on the lake O’hara fire road is prohibited…wouldn’t want to risk that ticket..
