Seen 2 Acura SLX throughout my lifetime thus far. One, back in the late 90s, elderly couple had one in the neighborhood. And most recent at HDAY 2024 in MD. My bud that works at a Honda Dealer told me about the Prologue. The Lot guy next door brought over with the Chevy New electric SUV and said “Same SUV.” 😅😅😅
idk whats weirder, the fact that most honda suvs are not actually hondas or the fact that honda partnered with two companies known for their cars self imploding

The other techs and myself are dreading working working on these cars. We only have one lift that can lift this heavy beast, and its in a whole other building.

@@thegameshowgeekthe great thing about the old Ford explorer is that they wanted to increase the mpg because the competition was beating them that way so the weakened the roof to save weight. As someone who works at a Honda dealer in Canada, and we HAVE a prologue; there is nothing in the interior that is Honda. Which means you have 100% heard of the dealer I work for LOL
Acura apprentice tech here, we've already had an Acura ZDX glitch out and become a Chevy Blazer EV 😅. The Honda/Acura line up of the Ultium platform technically have their own version of the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen, but if the regular 12v battery is to fail or lose enough charge, the car will revert back to its GM counterpart electronically. We also have to order many of its parts from the nearby Cadillac dealership too as we can't order them directly. They also have some pretty bad build quality with air vents popping out and center consoles not being put together completely, as well as loose hardware from factory. It's not looking good so far 😅.
I owned a 1995 Honda Passport about a decade ago. It had the 3.2L V6, 4wd, and a manual transmission. Fun fact: True, it was an Isuzu Rodeo with a Honda "H" on the grille, but it also had some GM parts under the hood. Those parts seriously *did* have the GM logo in the castings!
The second generation RL was supposed to get a V8 but it got cancelled at the last minute (along with the V10 NSX) due to the recession. We ended up with another V6 RL with sh-awd and, eventually, the hybrid NSX.

Yes! The Holden Jackaroo is such an Aussie name for a car! We also had the Holden Drover, which was a rebadged Suzuki Samurai/Sierra/Jimny! At the same time we had the Holden Scurry, which was a rebadged Suzuki Carry van. A lot of Isuzu's were also sold in Australia under the Holden (GM) brand in the 70's, 80's and 90's. We also had a few rebadged Rovers in Australia that were actually Hondas. We had the Rover Quintet 5dr hatch, a rebadged 80's Honda Quint and the Rover 416i 5dr hatch, a rebadged 1st generation Honda/Acura Integra. Also, we had the Honda MDX, a rebadged 1st generation Acura MDX.
Manual is ditched for EVs since it has no use to extract power out of it with manual unlike a normal ICE. however some manufacturers are already experimenting with "simulated" manual transmissions for EVs. I don't think gasoline cars are much better than ev at not catching fire as you can find plenty of examples of scorched cars of any type. There have also been many fire recalls on Gasoline cars. (Ironically most of those fire recalls were caused by an electrical failure, like an engine related electric component and even a connector plug for trailer lights) Gasoline is also no joke once it engulfs a car. But EV's issue is that when they catch on fire, it's impossible to put out and can catch back on fire after being put out. If I'm not mistaken the firefighting method for ev is to let it burn until the fire stops. But if you have to wait for a firetruck to cut you out of a burning car, i think you wouldn't survive with any kind of fire waiting that long if it catches quickly or suffocates you . I never thought of how there may be a risk of electric shock with a crashed EV. If so the EV can be invisibly dangerous to rescue workers or the occupants/surrounding people. If somebody crashes an EV at 100 mph or something like that or drives it over a humongous rock, I wouldn't be surprised that it caught on fire. I think a crash of an ICE car at that high speed can also result in a fire.
Also, is the new Passport supposed to be an Explorer clone? On the expressway, i need to really look to see if I'm about to pass a newer Passport or a fucking state cop.
I love how the Prologue is based on a GM platform, when the Saturn Vue (a GM product) had a Honda engine

I don't think gasoline cars are much better than ev at not catching fire as you can find plenty of examples of scorched cars of any type. There have also been many fire recalls on Gasoline cars. (Ironically most of those fire recalls were caused by an electrical failure, like an engine related electric component and even a connector plug for trailer lights)
Gasoline is also no joke once it engulfs a car.

Girl really said "Stop having fun" so naturally
What does that mean?
@@jamesdrives993 Maybe naturally wasn't the word I was looking for. She talks to her kids like one would talk to an employee before they quit.
@@jeiku5041 Oh okay I understand now. Thanks for explaining.
The new GM Prologue is such a POS that we have all the ones that have been sold brought back with issues and just sitting on the lot 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
