There are multiple ways to collect and purify water in the wilderness but in this video, we are sharing some practical approaches to collecting and purifying water for the Himalayan treks. These tips can become very useful on your next DIY trek.
Quietly, under our feet, trekking is changing in our country. More and more trekkers are taking to the mountains. But they are trekking/hiking differently. They are trekking on their own without the support of any organization. They are trekking the Do-It-Yourself way.

Hi Burhanuddin, Aquapura is one chlorine tablet which can be used for water purification. We use it on our treks too. You can check it out here - www.amazon.in/Aquapura-Potable-Purification-Purifiers-Warranty/dp/B07FM9JKHC/ref=pd_lpo_2?pd_rd_i=B07FM9JKHC&psc=1

    Hello,
To boil water we need to carry a portable gas stove and gas can as well. But while traveling in a train can we really carry those stuffs?

I don't think there's any need to purify water on a himalayan trek but still it's good to purify for our own safety

There absolutely is. Just because the water is straight from the glaciers doesn't mean it cannot have disease causing microbes. All it takes is a dead animal upstream and the water gets contaminated.

Not all water is Natural spring water. .Moving water from mountain has more probability of being clean however wont be the case everytime because of some of the reasons- human interfernce, bad weather , dead animals etc etc. .

There absolutely is. We did the mistake in one of our trek by drinking water directly from streams as suggested by some locals and almost everyone in the group suffered from upset stomach during the trek and for some it was several days after trek...so pls be careful 🙂
