@@cepho8349 Miyako have own style, because she play different that others japanese female guitarrist, she not play much japanese style, and of course Kanami queen.
Kanamincho doesn't need to be the fastest or the most shredder to be somebody's favorite because every time she plays she oozes soul and emotions. This woman was, is and will be music till the day she dies ( her name means "sound wave" btw) 🤘🕊️
Miyako (Lovebites), technical guitar excellence and virtuosa piano skills, check out Revolutionary Etude/Swan Song. It is a Masterpiece. Kanami is also classically trained on piano, but we haven't seen it showcased as much as Miyako. This is an excellent list of amazingly talented women. (And all easy on the eye, too.)
Long shredding solos get stale, that is why I favor Kanami. Her solos are always on point and never stray from the rest of the song. Speaking about her song composition, it is above all the other groups in my opinion.
My fav is Kanami. Not the most technical, not a virtuoso (like some in this list), but the most unique and creative sound I've found in a guitarist in a long while. Her playing - whether solo'ing or otherwise - seems to express the secret of what I'm feeling in a song, or carry me to some new place the song needed to go. (I suppose it helps that she composes those songs.) Kanami's guitarwork I love; the virtuoso's I merely admire.
One of the silliest comparisons I've ever seen. Gilmour is known for laid back restraint, taste, melodicism, atmosphere and emotion. Kanami mostly just wails in solos that are not grounded in the songs.
No competition, they all bring excellence to their music, they are friends, no one is better , just different, all equal in writing abilities and chops. Just enjoy them all as l do.
Nice little list 👌🏻 I’ll add Tomo-zo (Gacharic Spin, DOLL$BOXX), Hal-ca (ASTERISM), Lisa-X (Lisa-X-Band), Hazuki (NEMOPHILA, Lisa-x-Band) and of course, my favorite KANOEMI (BAND-MAIKO) ✌🏻
Good list. My top 3 are almost far to close to pick the absolute best. But I base it on shear ability. Personality, how they react with audience. Now this is just my top 3. May as well call it a 3 way tie. Miyako, Saki, and Kanami. It's like trying to pick from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Randy Rhodes, and Joe Satriani. Dam near a impossibility.
Do any of her admirers even listen to Kanami? Comparison to Gilmour? Give me a break... I like Band-Maid but only in small doses, two or three songs at a time. They seem to go full-on all the time. Almost no dynamics, change of pace, just relentless rock from start to finish. She might be a good songwriter but Kanami's solos don't exhibit restraint or taste (and she's definitely not into the atmospheric). Most of them seem like random exhibitions of speed to me, totally unconnected to the songs. If I'd make any comparisons, it would be to the original guitarists from Slayer.
Impossible to pick a favorite! I think Miyako is the most technical player on the list. Narumi is amazing. She has great control in her playing not running through every lick she knows on every song. Kanami is the ultimate band oriented musician. They are all top tier musicians.
Midori and HALCA deserve to be included but none of them deserve to be excluded. Japanese women are saving rock (along with a certain trio of sisters from Mexico).
Estuve escuchando las bandas de esta lista para saber quién es la mejor, y no puedo decidir, todas son inigualables, talento les sobra, por trayectoria e historial debería ser Saki-san, pero kanami me quiere tapar la boca! I think BAND MAID's kanami is an important talent for the world rock scene. Please also pay attention to young promising stocks, Sakura Yoshida and HALCA. Also, Bed-in Chanmai is actually an excellent guitar girl.
These are all fantastic. But one prodigy shines above them. HAL-CA from Asterism. She's already on another level....and is still in her teens. IMHO, of course. All these ladies are great. Huge Lovebites fan. Miyako's talents are beyond belief. Classical pianist and mind blowing guitarist! Cheers!

Yoshi (Aldious) An always overlooked legend of composition and performance Hazuki (Disqualia / Nemophila) Clean, fast and innovative Midori (LOVEBITES) Different to Miyako but equally good This video made me smile though. Always fun to try to make lists like this. The problem is the mind-blowing depth of female rock and metal talent in Japan. You could make a list of "the next seven" (for example Midori, Sakura, Haruka, Tomo-Zo, Mitsuru, Ayumi, Hazuki) and any one of them would be the star of most bands. And that still leaves Yui, Lisa-X, the legendary Sun-go, Misaki, Misa, Yashiro, Captain Mina, Rie, and more. It's actually crazy. Next, Bass, Drums....

Kanami... Because she is also an absolute brilliant songwriter and her solos are always with a lot of emotion :)

Kanami: she writes memorable riffs with a clear hook and her solo’s are more about flavor than shredding.
