FYI rooting doesn't void warranty on Xiaomi phones at all
Where can I find official wordings?
Please tell me you aren't joking
ruclips.net/video/sMWCyRijEkg/видео.html
"unlocking the bootloader doesn't void your warranty" means you are allowed to do anything to your poco f1. install custom rom, root it, ect.
but it all depends on the warranty your poco f1 came with. if it came from an official store (xiaomi store, xiaomi approved reseller)
then its fine. if you somehow fuckup the flashing process resulting a hard brick. just give it to the official service center.
does unlocking bootloader voids it though ?
@@berzek3352 unlocking the bootloader does not void warranty

Unlocking bootloaders are so sketchy nowadays. Like I had a Note 4 from VZW and that was an undertaking. The problem being that even the most "idiot-proof" instructions can be f***ed up by someone, somewhere, and blame Linus. Because... Thats a thing. lmao

SO True! LTT finally giving the rooting community some well-deserved love
@@Alucard0rJo3kr It's too bad every phone has it's own instructions to do so, often without official unlocker which makes it even sketchier.

However, when you do find a good working rom...
Yeah, I hope Linus doesn't *drop* this format.
Xiaomi has announced they will support development. Unlocking bootloader and modifying ROM will not void warranty.

Yep. To begin with, the pocophone was a device targeted to indian market where most of the custom rom developers come from. In regards to MIUI, I dont know why there is a bad stigma towards that UI. It has alot of useful features which are not available in stock android. Though the built in mi apps annoys me, i simply flash a miui eu rom to get rid of it.

*Second - It's also good to wipe Dalvil Cache and System Partition.
*Third - You can try flashing AOSP GSI Image it will install the stock experience.
Thanks
A GSI has no drivers so performance isn't as good as an official rom
Kinda funny to get on this video a week after getting myself a Poco and going custom the very first day of usage.
The 3-day wait to unlock the boot loader is a process security in case the phone is stolen and someone is trying to gain access to the device. e.g. If you've lost the phone, and report it stolen / lost, the bootloader unlock code will not be handed out.
PCUser1024 oh, i get it
I get it. But now some of their phones actually require 360 hours before you can unlock them. A bit ridiculous isn't it? Plus the new anti-rollback system that they put in the way, it feels to me that Xiaomi is actively trying to discourage people from using 3rd party roms. At least compared to what they were doing a couple of years ago, they are definitely tightening up the regulation.

Now cameras on phones are so good that even youtubers are unable to compare them easily, so when they talk about the pocophone they talk assuming that it must have a worse camera due to its lower price, and due to this bias, they always rate it lower than other phones. @stinckypotato both versions have hardware differences but nothing big. Regarding software they are diferent specially regarding antenna ( bands). I haven't touched a Opo7p yet so I can't tell for sure if they would be compatible of not, but You should be careful with the kernel compatibility and the band you install. ROMs tend to be not a problem check on XDevelopers for any news about these issues. You might run into a problem. Don't rush flashing yet. It's way to soon for that.
@stinckypotato well. It's android so you shouldn't have problem with that but since I'm not sure where you are, it could lead to some legal problems. If you root the phone and unlock the bootloader you should be able to at least flush the Gapps (go for the 64x, nano versions) ... But first make sure they are conceived for Opo7p...
