Great video guys. Can't underestimate the importance of good bars and their impact on the entire riding experience, and ProTapers are a great choice. The MT-03 is coming along VERY nicely! Can't wait for the next video already!
Followed these instructions for a 2016 mt03 couple things different but it’s all borderline the same. This in depth explanation seriously helped someone like me who has had no experience wrenching other then a oil change chain tension and all general maintenance. Will be buying products from you guys from now on with mt09 on the horizon thank you very much
Just wanna ask, how about the riding position after installing protaper handlebar? more upward, more down, or more close to the rider compared to the stock one?
I just ordered a Pro Taper Seven Eight Carmichael bend handlebar for my MT-07, I dont think I will be cutting a piece of because I like the width. thanks for the video
I don't remember which one we bought but we had to chop off the ends too. Most of them come with a measure laser etched on at the ends of the bars so you can make the cut same on each side
Hey, just wondering how did you get the cables to fit? I bent by stock handlebars, watched this video and bought the same handlebars. The clutch housing has to sit on the bend and it is just awkward. Did you get an extended clutch cable, as well as likely throttle and brake lines? I am stumped and am about to have lost $200 and have a motorbike in pieces on the lawn.
Hi Sam, the throttle and brake lines are aftermarket. The clutch cable is OEM and so is the housing for it but the cables were routed a little differently to account for the difference in placement on the bars. We mentioned a few times in this video that this set-up was not OEM and specific for the parts we chose to use. I hope this helps but it sounds like purchasing OEM handlebars again will be your best bet.
@@TSTindustries Thanks for the reply. Honestly can't find OEM handlebars for it here in Aus and can't find aftermarket to the same measurements so I've just put the bent handlebars back on. I consider my 03 a good learning bike but don't want to go spend $400 on aftermarket cable lines to make it work and sell it in a couple months for the 07. You guys must be good at what you do. I took off the tank but didn't want to mess with anything below it and couldn't find a route that would reach. Ah well. When you were saying the bike isn't set up OEM, didn't click you were talking about cables, just thought 'of course, they made a track bike out of a 321cc!'
Rudder huh? What are you steering a boat bro? Just kidding. I think you used some translating thingy. Anyhow, I think that you can perhaps use a bar riser kit instead of changing the bars. This way you can have an adjustable setup. I think Gilles makes something like that.
When installing the mirrors do you just remove the core on stock bars for an MT03? Just bought some wometech ones for mine and I’m assuming that’s all you did cause the bars were stock?
Update can’t get the internal bar weights out at all. Hoping I don’t have replace the entire bar to get the mirrors in. Saw online you’d see a tab to try to fish out with a screwdriver but no such luck. Any ideas?
The anchors are in there for good I think. The mirrors we sell from Womet Tech mount to their bar ends also. The bar ends fit the OE bars so that combo can be made...it's just 20 bucks more to get the bar ends. At this point I do not have a better solution.

I am very happy that our video helped you with your project.
Nice in-depth explanation of how to install them, i missed this kind of information on previous episodes. Thanks for the valuable information!
Glad we could help!
Mid step, put the controls on when the bar is still free, then mark the appropriate divit hole locations.
Kawasaki ER6N stock handlebar is good for mt03 too, have a friend did that. But if I’m not mistaken, you need to extend the cables.

Watching this build serious gives purpose to my boring but busy life! Haha 😂 no, but for real it does..
You should get busy building a bike then.
Great job guys , like that', very useful if get in a situation + gots a cool different look to the bike.
Alright...thanks.
Hey able to give the specs of the handlebar, i bought one which is extremely long and my throttle cables, brake cable are unable to fit.
I don't remember which one we bought but we had to chop off the ends too. Most of them come with a measure laser etched on at the ends of the bars so you can make the cut same on each side
Are these bars slightly lower than the OEM handlebars? I wanna get lower handlebars for my MT-03 but don’t know which ones to get.
Do you guys have any tips for installing bar end mirrors on the stock handlebar which has internal weights blocking the inside of the ends?
You will most likely have to extract the anchor from each side of the bars. A slide hammer can be very helpful here.
Love how it look 😍 got that bar end mirror the same as mine😍
Could you send me the model or link to buy? Thanks

Is there a part number for this
"You're gunna need a pipe cutter" Me: slowly puts hacksaw away
You can definitely do it with a hacksaw but the pipe cutter is much easier
Sorry what brand are the bar mirrors I didn’t quit get that thanks
Anybody know the torque specs for the upper and lower clamp bolts?
The oem bars do not handle drops at all. Especially when falling onto the throttle
I couldnt find the Womtec bar ends mirrors on website do you still sell these?
Womet discontinued the un-tinted version of the mirrors so we stopped selling them.
I ordered the same protaper bars for my mt03 but what grips and bar ends did you use
Nice vid!I’m building my MT too👍did change the length of the clutch and throttle wire?if you did I would like to know how many mm did you extend🙏
Not at all! We were able to use the stock cables.
What's the part number I did the same drop

TSTindustries got it! I was gonna get those but I assumed they wouldn’t fit with the bar needs and mirrors. I’ll order them right now! Thanks!
I am buying the cr highs. Let you know how i make out. Great job guys.
How did the cr high come out???
Well?
If you dont want to drill it just stick some electrical tape then put them back on holds bang on tighting up wont move
Elaborate
Will this raise the bars up from the stock ones?
no, they did not end up higher but the grip width ended up a bit more outboard.
What episode did you change that front cable to red color?
Episode 5!

What Trothle Cable Did you Use..
We used an entire different throttle setup from Motion Pro
@@TSTindustries Manage To Change mine with a Rental Handle Bar Without Changing the Cables 😁.
@@PaoloElarmo did you have to reroute the cables different to how the factory ran them?

I hope I never have to replace my Bars like this ,it looks like such a pain in the aS$
It was but the end results are something we're really enjoying.
It is a PITA lol but it's worth it
the speedometer of the mt07 or 9 does it fit on the mt03? If i will change the speedometer of the mt03?
I don't know. I don't even see a reason to do that.
Bro could you give me this bike for my birthday?? I am very huge fan of your channel ☺
hehehehe...if we give you a bike then we will have 100 more people asking for one.
