  • Hello everyone, glad to welcome you back to this video of the Swiss a220 noseview landing at London City Airport.
    We took off early in the morning to arrive around 8 o’clock at our destination. Crosswinds of up to 20 knots made this landing a very challenging one.
    Also, this approach requires special training and procedures. For example, it is a six degree approach for both runways, 27 and 09. On the a220, the speedbrakes stay extended at about 30% during the entire approach. Il try to capture that next time I go to city as a wingview video for you guys.
    If you guys feel like it, try a similar setup in Microsoft flight simulator on the same runway, you will appreciate this captains job even more when you know how hard it actually is to make it look so effortless and easy.
    So I will let you enjoy the landing now, give this video a like and hit the subscribe button if you haven’t already fellas.
    There’s more coming in the next few weeks, thank you especially to my patreon supporters, and of course to you, my subscribers.
    Let me know in the comments below what you thought of this landing, the a220 and this special steep approach into London!

    Hi! All the years I used LHR, but now LCY is on top of my bucket list (STR via ZRH with Swiss!!) I watch all the vids I can find of that unique airport, this one is brilliant. Every Friday afternoon Chris from SDTV live is streaming from across the dock, so we're close to runway and stands. I just love the "airplane ballet ", awesome teamwork between pilots and marshallers. Looking forward to your next video, for an avgeek they are a must see!!

    When did you stop having to back track on the rwy to avoid the building next to stand 21?

    Is that a chip on the windshield? Great video. @9:30 ITA's A220-100. I read one article, is it true that Airbus is working on getting A220-300 certification for LCY?

      @dnhug  3 месяца назад +2

      Thanks for the questions! First one, that was a bug on the outside of the windscreen, impossible for me to do something against it.
      Second, I haven’t heard about the certification process of the A223 and LCY, but il ask around to see if word is out.
      Thank you very much for watching and your questions, best regards, Dominic

    Seems ambitious having A319 and A320 parking marks!

    • @dnhug
      @dnhug  3 месяца назад

      Agreed! The 319 was done for the BA service to JFK, but the 320 indeed would be very ambitious, well spotted! Thank you for watching and your comment!

    Schon Wahnsinn - in den USA gibt es so viele Push-into-Parkingposition und in LCY rollst du mal eben so rein.

      absolut! Erinnere mich noch gut an die Zeiten in LAX, als wir mit der 340 mit dem Traktor die letzen 200m hereingezogen wurden. Genug Platz Links und Rechts- egal. Rules are the rules :) Der Gegensatz ist schon interessant, in der Tat. Danke für den kommentar! beste Grüsse,dominic
