"Francis Joins the WACs" (1954) is a comedy film in the Francis the Talking Mule series, starring Donald O'Connor and featuring Francis, the talking mule. Directed by Arthur Lubin, this film is the fifth installment in the series, following Francis Goes to the Races.
Plot:
In this installment, Peter Stirling (played by Donald O'Connor), a soldier who is best friends with the talking mule Francis, finds himself enlisting in the Women's Army Corps (WACs) after his fiancée, Nancy (played by Martha O'Driscoll), convinces him to do so. The movie follows Peter as he navigates the challenges and mishaps that come with military life, with Francis helping out in his own unique and comedic way. As always, Francis provides comic relief by talking to Peter and creating funny situations, leading to plenty of chaos and laughs.
