Ok I BEEN saying. This series LITERALLY silences AND BOXES THE STRONG 'LEAD' FEMALE. like literally gags her. shonen .. pls you're doing us dirty. go off queen, let em know
Plus, in flashbacks they show her being the next oldest, taking care of the younger sibs, etc. - then most of the series infantilizes her. And also sexualizes her (why are we supposed to like Zenitsu?).
I agree with all the Nezuko stuff. Was really wondering how she was getting stronger, but even with flaws like this the show is still entertaining af. And I find that the most important personally.
(Spoiler Alert) I think she’s strong because she’s the chosen demon. It was said on Season 1&3 that just like Tamayo, she is free from the Curse of Kibutsuji. Not only that, but she’s also the first demon to be immune to the sun (i read the manga) and i think her and Akaza’s power is on the same level but she just can’t control hers
Yeah, eventually. But justifying them doesn't change that the decisions were made, nor the problems with them. She didn't *have* to be written that way.
You made some really great point especially about Tanjiro impacting the people around him by saving demons. That makes so much sense that it surprises me it hasn’t already happened. I gotta expect that they’ll do something like this in the future. They have to right? I hope lol
Thank you so much for pointing out the problem with zenitsu in the mugen train arc. I felt exactly the same. Also, I was really looking forward to him being in like a tag team kinda thing with the sound hashira in season two, as zenitsu's sense of hearing is so well developed. I thought that could lead to some crazy synergies and felt really let down when it just became the full on tanjiro show again. Anyway, great video, looking forward to your upcoming stuff. ✌
The entire point of Tanjiro fighting the upper ranks demons to Muzan is that he needs their blood to cure nezuko. He does it whenever he defeated a high-ranked demon. And I think Nezuko doesn't need talking or fighting because she helps Tanjiro just by existing. Tanjiro's entire motivation is to turn Nezuko into a human and she is the one who keeps him going. Nezuko is the last hope for Tanjiro so her existence is enough for her character. Besides Nezuko awakened form scene is very cool and Ufotable really nailed it. And she saved Tanjiro's ass so many times and Tanjiro would die if she wasn't there.
I respect your view. Yes, Nezuko is a strong fighter, even in a box. The point is she is a prop and her character could bring so much to the show. Why leave something so valuable hidden?
There is growth in the show, it's just so subtle that it can be hard to notice. The entertainment district ark does have meaning, it shows a new power up that is important to the story as it goes on. And the thing is, Nezuko did take Daki's head when she saved Tanijro, and even if Nezuko did take her head how you would like, it wouldn't have mattered because demons can't kill demons. And the rest of the characters do have development, Tanijro, because of Nezuko he is able to see that the demons are people that were stripped of their humanity, so the fact that he had the intention to murder Daki without any mercy or regret is character growth. And Zenitsu and Inosuke are no exceptions to this growth ether, you'll find that Zenitsu has much more self control than in the first session, and Inosuke went from this guy obsessed with fighting strong components to prove his worth, to someone who is very caring and soft, plus he even learns the value of teamwork. It's no mystery that Demon Slayer has it's faults and it's no mystery that Demon Slayer isn't a perfect show, but you can't say that it has no growth without taking the time to see the changes that take place.
I think these opinions are very fair for someone who has only seen the anime but I disagree with most of these points after reading the manga. Some characters get little development but for the most part i think it’s a very well written manga and i’m just excited for the next season to come out. Love your videos btw
amazing video ina, I couldn’t agree more with all your points. I’ve had the biggest problem with nezuko, and people calling her a ‘strong female character’ (just cause they have strength doesn’t make them a good female character). I’ve heard people say the manga develops her character more but I’m still sceptical. Demon slayer is a good watch but I’m glad I’m not the only one who has gripes with it as nothing is perfect :’)
I've read the manga and I don't understand those claims because it doesn't... improve anything, and in my opinion just strengthens the fact that Nezuko's only there for show
The lack of Nezuko's presence would make a huge impact on Tanjiro's journey. Without Nezuko becoming a demon, Tanjiro likely wouldn't become a Demon Slayer. He might not have met Giyu if he hadn't been trying to save Nezuko. But let's say he DOES become a Demon Slayer, going down the path of vengeance and tracking down Muzan....Tanjiro would be dead. Let's count a few times Nezuko has saved Tanjiro's life. 1. Nezuko delayed Susamaru long enough for Tanjiro to fight (And I believe kill) Yahaba without having to worry about Yushiro and Tamayo. If Nezuko was not there to fight Susamaru, Tanjiro wouldn't have been able to handle both of them, due to being almost completely unable to move after fighting Yahaba alone. (She had even distracted Yahaba for a bit at the start of the fight.) 2. Swamp Demon. Had Nezuko not been present, Tanjiro would have a hand sized hole in his head. 3. Rui. (Correct me if I'm wrong on this one) She had protected Tanjiro from an attack would otherwise likely would have killed him. (Also helped with beheading Rui, although that technically failed.) 4. Daki. Do I need to say anything else? 5. Gyutaro. While she didn't directly help in the fight, Tanjiro would have been absolutly destroyed by his "Self-destruct" if Nezuko hadn't burned all of his blood. And if he didn't die from that, the poison would have killed him instead, because Nezuko wouldn't have been there to burn it. (?) Honorable mentions: The first demon Tanjiro met, right before meeting Urokodaki. (This is here because it wasn't technically important, but she did help a lot.) The Arachnid Demon. (The one with the four legs coming out of his back. Though, it would be reasonable to assume Tanjiro could have handled that.) Enmu. (Many humans would have died had Nezuko not been there to protect them, though this doesn't count as saving Tanjiro.) I think I might have forgotten a few, but I'd have to re-watch S1 in order to get all of them, and that would take a bit of time. Regardless, you understand my point. (Also, for the select few who may take it that way, this comment is not meant to be negative, Ina makes a lot of good points, like the characters not getting any develoment, mainly because they cut most of that from the manga iirc, I just had a problem with this specific take.)
Also, the thing about Tanjiro saving demons...most of the demons have a reason. (Bit of a spoiler alert.) Gyutaro and Daki despise humanity because of what they did to them. How they were treated and looked at played a huge part in WHY they're demons. Kokushibo has a desire for strength. He will do anything and everything to be the strongest. And since Muzan gave him this strength, he owes him for that. Doma just likes eating women too much, idfk. Rui wanted to make the "Perfect Family", which he thought he could do by turning other's into demons and forcing them to love him. (Could be wrong about this one.) There's a lot more to it, but I don't want to yeet Akaza's whole backstory into a YT comment section, so let's just boil it down to "He wanted to be stronger" See the pattern here? Most demons aren't troubled souls, who just need a warm hug and kind words, they're beings given unimaginable power, which they use to give the rest of the world a firm middle finger because they were treated horribly by the same people who now call them monsters. The only one I think Tanjiro might be able to convince if he really tried would be Akaza, but he'd probably have to guilt him into it by using his father or (Another person who'm i don't want to name due to spoilers), as he still enjoys being a demon. This might sound a bit harsh, but most of them are power hungry, selfish, uncaring, and ruthless.
And for the Tanjiro “miraculously learning flame breathing” he did it at the end of season 1 not knowing it was flame breathing! He just thought it was a good strategy to help his breathing so he remembered his father dancing.
@@tchatman770 Wasn't quite Flame Breathing, but rather a rushed, unrefined version of Sun Breathing/Hinokami Kagura. But yes, he did accidentally unlock it because he needed more power and saw it as a better fit than Constant Flux, since he couldn't keep constantly rotating to cut through all the threads. Still sad he didn't kill Rui after that though 😂
The problem isn't her impact. It's the fact she's a horribly written character and only appears when Tanjiro needs her (hence why she called Nozuka a pokemon)
I totally agree with the points you’ve made, and I’d like to add on to your statement. Even if Tanjiro happened to survive every battle alone, without Nezuko, we wouldn’t have met any of the hashira besides three, since there wouldn’t have been a hashira meeting. Shinobu, who would help Tanjiro train, Tengen, and possibly Rengoku if Shinobu would still request for Tanjiro to go on the mission with him. But by the end of the mission with Tengen, he and Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke would inevitably be killed by Daki and Gyutaro.
I never really thought in depth about Demon Slayer because though I really enjoy it, I never thought of it as a top tier story. I’m there for the fights (which one thing I think people don’t mention enough is that these are amazing for the animation but also the music like holy cow that sound track). But yeah, I think Demon Slayer has a lot of room to grow and most of the things you mentioned could stand improvement, do have a lot of room to do so. I think you hit the nail on the head with plot progression because I hope Demon Slayer will hit all the points you mentioned, it’s just very poor pacing. It did definitely miss some good hashira development moments, but I think we were introduced to Tenzen and Rengoku not because they’re hashira but because by the end of their arcs they are NO LONGER hashira (hmmm, a flame and sound hashira leave openings for a sun/flame-esque hashira like Tanjirou and a thunder/amazing hearing/sound hashira like Zenitsu?). So I guess why develop a character too deeply when you plan on either killing them or forcing them into retirement. The one thing I did kind of disagree with is when you said Tanjirou is seeking out Muzon for revenge. Maybe a little now, but at first, he didn’t even know Muzon was a thing. He just wanted a cure for Nezuko. And I haven’t really seen anything revenge like from Tanjirou (although I don’t remember season 1 all that well because like I said, I’m mostly there for the action lol) so I really don’t feel like he’s got it out for Muzon; like you mentioned, he’s got a big heart, and while he definitely hates Muzon, I don’t think that’s his primary motivation. I just think the writer/developers are doing a great job of telling not showing, like you mentioned with the training arcs. We know they’re training and “getting stronger” but we don’t really see it happening, just like we don’t see Nezuko and Tanjirou bonding at all this season. We just know that they’re like totally amazing siblings who love each other so much omg /s. And I would love to hear your thoughts on My Hero! That was the first anime I ever watched (I’m late to the anime game), so it holds a very special place in my heart. However, even I will admit that season 5 was a major disappointment. That first half was the most pointless thing I’ve ever seen (if it’s gonna be just another round of school training fights, at least make them good or interesting; even the black whip’s debut was somehow not that exciting). Also, I’m not really there for the Endeavor redemption arc. Once you beat and abuse your wife, abuse your children, and cause irreparable emotional damage, you can’t really be a hero in my eyes. You don’t have to be a total villain-he could learn his lesson and not be a total shit, but like nah man, I’m with Natsuo. So yeah, it has lots of room to grow but it’s special to me haha. And omg sorry for this long comment; I don’t want a lot of RUclipsrs regularly but your channel is one that if I see a new video, I click. I love your videos, and hope to see more from you in the near future :)
YOU ARE VERY VERY CORRECT NEZUKO DOESNT GET SHOWN! SHE NEEDED MORE SCENES and demon slayers only growth was demons being added to fight to get stronger
MASSIVE SPOILER: Good for you that in the manga soon, Nezuko starts talking, does more things, and isn't in the box as much (immune to sunlight). I things in the manga they change somethings up a bit and really helps out the story. I do see the flaws though but I'm very exited to watch this animated and adapted. Go Demon slayer!
I have only seen the first section of your video, because it already has a major point to address. Some statements that you make are very difficult to defend. For example you suggest that we "never really see Tanjiro affected or really sad that this has happened to his sister." This is simply wrong. For the Train-arc we have the dream sequence, where her very presence nearly makes him stop trying to leave the dream. In the "Coming of Age Arc" you actually show us the footage in your video of the scene where Tanjiro has a monologue on his feelings towards Nezuko's new immortality. And if we want to move away from words, there are also non-verbal cues where Tanjiro's sympathy towards Nezuko are portrayed through facial expression or the soundtrack. The goal to cure Nezuko and kill Muzan to avenge his family are not mutually exclusive??? As for feeling baited about Nezuko's role in the story. First and foremost we do not yet know the circumstance around her ability and her state except that it has never occurred before. Whether the future explanation will be satisfying is a different argument. Secondly, it was fairly clear since the beginning that she would be the mcguffin. It would certainly be disappointing if she weren't a critical plot device at this point considering her blood demon art and her overall state. She is Tanjiro's initial motivation. Of course he gains more motivators throughout, e.g. Rengoku, because the story progresses. Is Nezuko's lack of agency detrimental to the story? I'm not sure. Certainly the author could have had an extra character to play with, but ultimately I think people understand some of the core messages present throughout demon slayer, such as: (a) Persevering through hard-ship, (b) being resolute without being stoic (i.e. one can empathise and cry whilst also being strong), (c) friendship and love are important, (d) life is precious. And that is undeniably accomplished with Nezuko in her current state. Anyway those are my two cents. Indeed I also think there are ways that demon slayer could have been improved upon and it appears that Ufotable is taking a very clean approach with the only expanded scenes being in combat and Tanjirou - Nezuko moments. This is one shounen that may actually benefit from a filler to move away from Tanjiro for a bit.
Absolutely agree with everything you said, and I think your re-write sounds like a great version. Relatedly, the manga for Twin-Star exorcist is still in progress, and it goes a similar route to your re-write for Demon Slayer. It has some good writing for its female characters, but does still suffer a bit from the usual issues with shounen girls. ...[Manga spoiler]... > > > They do even eventually have Tamayo interact with the two people in the demon slayer corps - including the head - but all off-screen. It is super important, but still a lot of wasted potential.
Nezukos transformation was foreshadowed but I as I said you don't pay attention , and also i like how , you expect every single thing to happen in season 2 , there is such a thing as a manga , if you didn't know , we have 4 very long arcs too go , your gonna be looking very dumb when you see all your complaints were pointless ,
Although I don’t agree with most of your opinions here, I respect you having them. However, it’s just kinda confusing because I feel like a lot of things you said simply just aren’t true..? Like saying there was no plot or character development. Like you said yourself that you wish for Inosuke to learn to rely on others rather than himself when that’s LITERALLY what he did when the trio fought against Daki. Zenitsu also stood up to Daki WHILE AWAKE despite knowing she was an Upper Moon level demon. Additionally, one of Tanjiro’s main driving factors IS to save all demons and turn them back into a human. But in order to do that he needs to defeat the Upper Moons and collect their blood to send to Tamayo… which he did this season. So although it might *seem* like all the plot is doing is fighting the next strongest guy - that’s kinda just what’s required (But also it’s not how it’s going to be in the future). We also have uncovered and learned more lore which IS developing the plot. We defeated an Upper Moon which hasn’t happened for over a century. This is the START of the change. And a lot of things you seem to have a problem with happen later in the series. We’re just less than halfway through the story.
You my friend, are spitting straight facts. She clearly hasn't watched the show, and if she did she didn't pay attention. And her rewrite of the series makes zero sense. - pretty much all demons are mass murders, why would tanjiro ever want to make them human again - plus the demons clearly don't want to be human again, this is seen through daki, gyutaro and akaza. - it also completely contradicts the themes of the show
Yeah her assessment of Demon slayer ( although she is entitled to her opinion ) doesn’t sound like someone who watched the show or respectfully speaking understand the show.
Also to add on to your thoughts at the end with an alternate story, being able to save other demons would be proof of concept and give more drive towards curing Nezuko. Maybe it takes more time/research with Nezuko because of the potency of blood she was given, whatever explanation is needed there's many options, but showing the possibility in world beyond the purely hypothetical in Tamayo's unshown and nebulous progress would've been very impactful.
The last section of your video, the "I'm stealing this show" part feels honestly just out of place for anyone who has read the manga. I feel like it is just... odd to make a video about fixing demon slayer without you actually having the full picture and knowing more about the characters and how their stories will play out.
i keep seeing people bring up the manga but i feel like it’s pretty clear this video is about the anime how good the manga is has almost nothing to do with the show
You should be able to point out the flaws in a tv show based on the tv show.. I understand manga is essential for the big picture but for a vast majority of the audiences the anime will be all they will watch
Honestly I do feel like nezuko is useful to the plot She just needs more charecter development Which she did get some in the episode where we get a flashback of her and her mom , she actually got to grieve instead of keeping it in and being tiny and cute , or a badass who doesn't reach her full potential because of the writer That being said she definitely needs more charecter development. Inosuke did get development FROM even season 1 , before he could barely work with anyone or stay quite for once and really think before acting , but during the mt.natugomou arc he started showing some hints of charecter development , and it became clearer in season 2 Zenitsu too , even tanjiro said it himself that he can go on solo missions now and was a badass in the final episodes Tho I do get the gripe , throughout this season nezuko barely got any charecter development while zenitsu and inosuke got a ton, which is frustrating as someone who really likes her , but from a writing perspective I do want to understand why the author makes more time for them than her when she was the reason this show didn't end in 15 minutes. I do know though that the story is no where close to being done , if I'm not wrong there's still 4 more arcs to get through , so I'm willing to be patient till it ends , rather than already having a set opinion on a show that's not even close to being done That would be like grading someone's test without them even being given a chance to finish answering. So I do hope nezuko gets more development in the upcoming arcs I'm willing to be hopeful , but I don't want to set my expectations too high- So we'll just wait and see.
I disagree with the Nezuko statement. Urokodaki clearly states that Nezuko has to sleep just to preserve her strength. Her being awake unnecessarily makes her weaker over time. Them training with Nezuko without ANY WAY to replenish her strength is not ideal. For Nezuko to be shown more, they would have to find a way to replenish and maintain her strength EVERYTIME she’s awake especially if you want her to train with the boys. Just merely regenerating her Torso while fighting Daki made her so hungry she almost broke the promise of not eating humans. Tanjiro was able to hold her off which prove she was really starving and really needed to replenish her strength. The fact the moment she regain her consciousness she immediately went to her baby state and back to sleep indicated that she already used up her physical strength while fighting Daki. Also, Giyu did state even the Hashiras don’t know how to return demons back to Humans and even if a demon knew how to, they wouldn’t state that to Tanjiro. So to say Tanjiro doesn’t care about turning Nezuko back to human is not true. For one Tanjiro kept his promise to Miss Tamayo of collecting the blood of an upper rank Demon so she can study the blood on how to create a medicine against them as an effort to help Nezuko. 2 Tanjiro has to get to Muzan as he is the only person he can think of to restore his sister since he was the one who supposedly turn Nezuko into a demon in the first place. If he has to go through all upper moons to do so then so be it. Never once did Tanjiro said or even show any desire to gain revenge on Muzan to avenge his family as he has accepted there is nothing he can do to bring them back thus why he wants to do right by his last remaining family member, Nezuko Regarding the training, it is shown that they have been doing calisthenics and resistance training workouts for months. This training is to further emphasize that they are mere humans and thus their trainings are more realistic. They are not in a hyperbolic time chamber as Goku nor they do have 3 days to master Bankai, they keep practicing the fundamentals of every day workouts as an athlete/boxer would. Honestly without Nezuko being there, the stakes wouldn’t feel this high and she is what brings out the vulnerability in Tanjiro. It is even through his relationship with his sister than he was still able to have compassion for the upper moon 6 siblings. She is important in him keep moving forward but still being a kind person. Season 2 may not have progressed the story as how much you wanted to but it did emphasize just how much the boys and the Hashiras will have to grow after if they want to stand a chance of beating Muzan as it was the first time in over a century that a Hashira came back from a fight against an upper moon. Also as stated up above, Miss Tamayo finally got the blood of an upper moon to further her studies on demons. This fight single handedly showed that the fights to come will not be a walk in the park and no win they get from here will be won cheaply so in essence it was an appetizer. After all, we are not even 50 episodes in so there is more to come
I dont even know why she said that it didnt progressed, lmao. They stumbled in mugen and lost rengoku, but they are able to rise again and conclude their flaws in now in s2. Also this season contribute a lot to tanjiro, the parallels between the two fortunate and unfortunate sibling is fantastic. The upermoon demon blood that he got to gyu and daki helps the story to get progressed about the cure for turning nezuko back to human, which will have a conclusion in the later part).
Also, the story progressed significantly by showing us just how ridiculous the upper moons are and how difficult it will be to kill them. They even introduced new concepts in this season like the Hinokami Kagura being Sun Breathing (the original breathing style) or the addition of the Mark on Tanjiro’s head that grew significantly.
It doesn't matter how much is said to explain the reasoning behind Nezuko being sidelined, it's just bad writing. If you're going to make her an important character, give her an actual personality besides looking cute and giving some fan service. Demon Slayer had so much potential but got sucked back into stereotypical shounen tropes. I guess that's what happens when you think your targeted audience can't handle complicated characters.
@@liver-r Nezuko not having much of her human personality left is made on purpose so that we can feel how much it would be better for her to be human again. If Nezuko was capable of being her usual self, then being a demon would feel like an upgrade for her.
You went into a lot of detail about the protagonists and I don't have a problem with a lot those points. Demon slayer has a big antagonist problem. There is no relation between the demons and due to this every fight becomes so formulaic and feels seperate from each other. This makes me lose interest in the fights( which are the selling point of this show). But in shounen like Jujutsu kaisen and black clover most of the fights add something to the plot.
@@BigBlacKMan90210 Don't you wish they'd explain how exactly something doesn't add to the plot instead just saying something doesn't add to the plot? Also Nezuko is not the only demon shown who can't talk, but apparently she forgot! So Nezuko doesn't deserve a berzerker mode, but she deserves to save one of Tengens wives while in berzerker mode??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? So Nezuko is undeserving of a berzerker mode, but at the same deserving of saving someone while in berzerker mode, does she even know what berzerker means? That's like expecting Ichigo's Vasta Lorde form not to have attacked Uryu Ishida. Point is Nezuko wasn't in her right mind while in Berzerker mode how the heck can you expect her to save one of Tengen's wives???? She doesn't even know who Tengen's wife is!? Has she ever thought that maybe the problem isn't the show, but her poorly thought out arguments she took from CBR, reddit, and gatekeepers/elitists in the community? If Ranker, CBR, and Karens on Twitter had never made those arguments this video would have been different!
Yes there's relation between the Demons, it's just not a eye of the midnight sun/evil curse posse deal like in Black Clover and JJK! In Demon Slayer so far the main characters get assigned to different areas were demons are terrorizing a specific district/town, there more like vampires feeding off humans while trying to blend in not an army bent on killing everything like the elves in black over or whate those curses deal is in JJK. With that set up being different you can't expect the same outcome. You're literally just looking for things to complain about and looking to CBR or just fabricatong something when you don't find any!
I'm about to write a really long comment/rant so you have been warned: I'm calling it now You have not watched season 1 You have not watched the mugen train And you definitely have not watch season 2. There are some many contradictions you said and I'm gonna go through most of them but before I do I just wanna say I don't have anything againest you as a person, I just wanna talk about why I think your points are wrong using knowledge from the anime and (occasionally) the manga, so let's get started. "Demon slayer isn't about tanjiro trying to turn nezuko human again, did you really think that was the case" Um yea, because it is. Also tanjiro never once said he wants to avenge his family and kill muzan. Tanjiros goal is to get the blood of the upper moons so he can turn nezuko human again, she's an important part of the story and the key to tanjiros humanity. "We don't see him upset this has happened to his sister" Maybe you should actually watch episode 1, you might learn something. "Nezuko does nothing, the story would not change if she was dead" ................ do I even need to explain this? "Why can every demon talk except for Nezuko" It is actually explained in the manga why she doesn't talk, but it's a massive plot twist so I won't spoil it. "Demon Slayer doesn't have any growth, there's no hint the characters have gotten stronger" Three things 1. During season 2 inosuke shows us that the MCs ranks have gone up 2. They've been training and going on missions for a least 4 months so it's safe to assume they're stronger then they were on the mugen train. 3. I recommend watching Danny Motta's video where he explains how Demon Slayer develops their characters through action. "What happened in season 2, tell me" Yea, you're probably right nothing happened, yea, It's not like they killed an upper moon which hasn't been done in centuries, it's not like they got the blood on an upper moon which is 100% need to make nezuko human again and tanjiro definitely didn't unlock something that is very crucial to the plot (in the manga anyway) Yea, nothing like that happened (SARCASM) "He seemed to just know it already" He was taught it as a kid it's been explained MULTIPLE TIMES. "They don't develop the characters" Yea, imagine if Zenitsu did something cool while awake, cough, cough, season 2 episode 10, cough. "What, when, how is Nezuko so strong" Well let's look at the facts - she has muzans blood (she was attacked by him) - she can change her age appearance (in this case adult) - she slept for a total of 2 years (which is pretty much to equivalent of eating 2 years worth of humans, or at least close to it) So yea, this kind of thing makes sense. Also your point about the build up and pay off doesn't make sense because she can't control the new from yet. "What was the point of the fight between her and daki" Yea, let's just completely ignore the fact she tried to eat and kill some lady, that's irrelevant, who cares (SARCASM) "Make Nezuko the one to take dakis head off" OH, MY, GOD,.......... demons can't kill other demons, only muzan can kill other demons, that's just common demon slayer logic. "I can't tell which demons are stronger than others, other than their eyes" I don't understand your point here, that's the only way to tell. "All I know is that this demon (akaza) is stronger than this demon (gytaro) because of their eyes" I still don't get your point "My turn to write the show, tanjiro will instead be saving demons" Well that contradicts literally everything, I'm done. Based on your "review" it seems you have a clear bias towards Nezuko. It really feels like you're telling haters what they want to hear, that's how dumb your points felt. I recommend you actually watch to show, it's good. Also because I feel like I need to say this again, I don't have anything againest you as a person, it's just your video made me mad because I disrespected a show I really like and I spent an hour on this response/rant. Anyway bye.

I LOVE your commentary. I dont want to be sexist, and suggest its cause we are women and want better female characters (though i will ALWAYS say anime has wayyyy to much of a habit of turning female characters quickly into plot points or girlfriends). But i just feel, while imlove it, and am drawn to each episode, its a revenge and “bro brother journey” story, rather than a story anout siblings, much less a story about a strong woman who just happens to be a demon. This is a serious question from a “newby” to non romance anime. Are there good Demon Slayer like anime that focus on women? Thanks for any recommendations!
Claymore is the one that fit that description the best, but the anime butchered the serie and i doubt they will do a fullmetal alchemist brotherhood for claymore. If you want to see claymore, read the manga and avoid the anime like the pest. Other sujestions that may interest you are evangelion (the first gen, cant confirm the other like the new movie or second gen), noir, black lagoon, ghost in the shell and hellsing (manga or ultimate). Other than noir, the main cast do not focus on womens but the female casts are not simply girlfriend to be and noir has no no supernatural in a modern setting (90s).

There was a little part for story development that "Tiny" part where Tanjiro got the blood of an upper rank and sent it to that doctor who treats demons...
If you actually pay attention to the show , he is still collecting blood , from other demons , and sends it to tamayo , to create an antidote , before making an irrelevant video please know what your talking about , and also your saying all of this without reading the manga I respectfully disagree
@@aryabartarout5697 that's tanjiros goal, you think tanjiro wants nezuko to a braindead demon all her life? That's tanjiros main goal and the whole purpose as to why he became a demon slayer, don't ask dumb ass questions, someone who hasn't even watch demon slayer knows this
@@ssgssaxel1422 No but she can get some shining before turning into useless human like fighting with muzan till the end or writer could do better than that. writer ruined such important character so badly
I disagree - Tanjiro asked demons if this is possible to turn a demon into human again. Please check it. He was informed that Muzan could know how to do it and from what I understood he wants to get to Myzan not only to revenge but also to help Nezuko to change. He is helping Ms Tamayo to collect blood of higher range demons- why? To find a cure for Nezuko...And he finally made it. I see that in very lot od cases Nezuko attacked demons not because brother wanted her help but because she decided to - like with spider boy demon. That is why I do not find Nezuko as pokemon.
The 12 Kizuki are literally the strongest demons and the only one above them is Muzan. So it’s literally impossible to make them fight normal demons and have the same level of struggle
You would have to have not read the manga to not know that Inosuke does start relying on others and Zenitsu starts being able to use his power while awake
Well I know this is an older video but here goes Spoilers Personally, I thought the season was fine. I adore Demon Slayer, so I have a lot of hope for the show moving forward. The powerups and stuff is confusing, but I can handle it. The Inosuke thing with the organs was kinda sad, we love him and don’t want to see him die, but, seriously? The fight with Daki and Nezuko made me INSANELY uncomfortable. I was happy for some Nezuko screen time, and then the whole was like… wow. It’s even worse because I have to watch this in “secret” from my parents because of the violent scenes, I can’t imagine what they’d do if they saw something like that on my screen. Tengen didn’t annoy me, he was just there. Like, oh okay. You’re that character. Whatever. His wives, however, were uncomfortable. Not the wives themselves, just their designs are just so… God, I gotta bleach my eyes now. Nezuko is not a pointless character, she’s just not seen enough. Personally, I love her scenes with Zenitsu, in season one they were perfectly fine. I don’t think she was sexualized at all there, but then we had these fight scenes. All in all, fine season, great show. I adore those characters and I can’t wait for season three!
I don't maybe because in the early seasons all though nezuko would die in sunlight. That's why she was in the box. And Tanjiro doesn't want her sister to be involved in fights
3:24 *Wrong!* Tanjiro and crew would be dead in the Mugen Train if Nezuko didn't wake them up with her demon art. The sound Hashira would have died from the poison if Nezuko didn't burn it out of his system.
Very interesting video. This is contructive criticism at its best and I love it. I never really thought about points like the ones you brought up and now that I see how the show could have been better it makes me a little sad. I read the manga from chapter 70 and can say that these problems persist all the way until the finale. I really hope Ufotable takes some creative liberty with the story. I'm going to rant for a bit you can skip this part if you want. Personally found the entertainment district arc and the swordsmith village arc to be the most forgettable because in the mugen train arc we are introduced to Akaza who is the 3rd strongest demon moon. Rengoku gets established as one of the strongest hashira and is then immediatly beaten by Akaza who doesn't even struggle until the very end of the fight. We see the sheer gap in strenght between Tanjiro and the upper moons and know its going to be a long journey until he is able to defeat Muzan (also the fact that we see how high Muzan's expectations are right after only further widens that gap). Now, because we see how strong Akaza is, the victory against Gyutaro and Daki (for me at least) are less impactful because of it (I'm not going to spoil the ending of the swordsmith village arc). The fights against the higher ranked demons feel a lot more earned because we have seen the characters when they weren't able to even keep up with the people they are now going toe to toe with. Rant over sorry. I really do hope we get to see Tanjro try to help other demons and Nezuko actually be a person rather than a plot device. Also you said you want to rewrite demon slayer, well I AM. Some friends and I are planning on making a demon slayer Roblox game that will have story mode. I'm not going to say much but we will be taking some crative liberties with the story.
Oh man do I agree with your points. I've read the whole manga (no spoilers but I didnt much care for it), and my biggest complaint was that I felt there was little to no downtime or less high-stakes development. I felt a large amount of the cast didnt get any development or no where near enough for me to feel satisfied. It almost feels like modern shounen has swung to the opposite end of the Big 3 era. Where that time period had series that lasted over 600 chapters, many modern series cap out around 200 or less. Yes the Big 3 were way over drawn out and had way too much meandering and filler, but it feels like modern shounen have gone too far in streamlining and wound up cutting out q lot of good moments for character development. I felt similarly when I read Chainsaw Man. At 90 some-odd chapters, the story was good but I felt like I had little attachment to most of the characters or even really knew who they were on a more than basic level. You're allowed to have a beach episode guys.
Demon Slayer, like most mainstream anime (that are mostly shounen), they're like the Marvel of Anime, if that makes sense(?) They surely make up for the visuals and fight scenes, that people tend to overlook their flaws. The fact that these shows are still popular goes to show that most people are just watching them for a good time, not a deep one.
People balk at my dismissal of Demon Slayer. It gets a 10/10 for art. But I don’t connect with any of the characters. It’s interesting, good fight scenes, but you are right on, it lacks depth. I died 🤣 when you said, “Nezuko, I choose you!”
Agreed. Tho inosuke had good character development in my opinion, and I actually thought they did a good job at hyping up stronger demons by contrasting them with other characters and hyping them up from the beginning, and i like the idea that a number on there eye shows how strong they are
your idea of having the demons be swayed by tanjirou to be on the humans' side is SO interesting and i really really REALLY wish this happened bc ive been thinking abt how demon slayer can be interpreted through the lens of class struggle: muzan is the abusive rich guy who takes advantage of disenfranchised and traumatized people by turning them into his pawns for his own gain that he may discard for any reason at all. wouldnt it be such a powerful statement about class solidarity and a criticism of the ultra-wealthy to have all the demons revolt against their master? its already set up by having most prominent demons besides muzan have backgrounds of horror and poverty, clearly meant to make them more sympathetic. its a shame that even while victimization isnt an excuse to perpetuate trauma, most demons except tamayo(not counting nezuko bc she didnt eat anyone, or yushirou bc i dont think he killed anyone and wasnt created by muzan) werent offered any chance at atonement by the story except by dying, after ofc being forced into atonement by the demon slayers' swords first. i agree w you abt nezuko being a prop too, she and so many other characters and plotlines had so much potential that were all squandered......and i think we know why nezuko was wasted like this. its misogyny. god demon slayers misogyny is so egregious it made me want to quit so many times. i cant even get into it rn bc idk where to start but you understand me right
@@sassydebbie She's the major motivation in the story for the main character. It all goes back to Tanjiro trying to turn Nezuko back into a human. To me, that means the series is, to an extent, about both of them. Even while keeping Tanjiro as the only protagonist, Nezuko is technically part of the main group, which should put her at least at the same level of character importance as Zenitsu and Inouske. Instead, she's pretty much Tanjiro's pikachu (except she actually has to go inside her "pokeball").
@@bpsara okay, I was so confused before 😂, but I understand better now, thank you. In response to what you said, I understand what you mean, but even if Nezuko is Tanjiro's main motivation in the story doesn't mean the story is about her. That's misinformation, because from the very beginning of the story (how it's written) we get to realize that Nezuko wasn't even the deuteragonist. I think it's more accurate to say Nezuko deserves more screen time than she does because she greatly influences the story. Saying it's about her makes it seem like they made that very clear at one point, then just dropped the idea later. Personally, I don't have any problems with how much she was involved in the story, because I feel like it's consistent with how the writer wrote certain things and how they wanted things to be. To explain better, to me, the way I understand the story and the author, Tanjiro was always meant to be the MC, and everyone else were just supporting the story. For Nezuko, we get some facts checked out before the story progressed after she transformed into a demon: she can't in the sun, she can't speak because having her mouth open tempts her to have food, she can't fight for long because she's not feeding so if she loses blood, she would need to either feed or sleep for a long time to recover her strength, and lastly, she won't feed because that's when she will become a full demon, and she'll probably not stop eating humans after that. Poor choices by the author maybe, but that's what she could think of for this story. And so with those things, I think it makes sense to why we don't see Nezuko have that much screen time especially in supporting the characters. To conclude my long reply (thanks for reading 😂), Demon Slayer definitely has its flaws with its writing, Nezuko truly could have been written better, but I think that was how the author felt they could write her. So, here's to me hoping, DS author keeps writing and gets to improve in their writing, even to flesh out and do better with their characters.
you clearly haven't read the manga, i have read it and this was so painull to watch. please don't judge a show when you haven't even seen half of it.😡 There is a lot growth in the end of the series, so many characters go from being agresive and annoying like sanemi to nice and sweet. so next time your making a video like this about demon slayer do after you have read the manga
I love Demon Slayer 'cause Tanjiro is the poster boy of the new wave of Shounen Protagonists with empathy; who can be emotionally vulnerable and is actually MORE badass because of it. And also because, like everyone, I cried after season 1 episode 19. I was like "This is it. This is what this show is all about." For Tanjiro, family is his guiding light, his inspiration, his reason for living and his greatest strength. After Nezuko helped him clutch out the fight with Rui and proved herself to the hashira and the leader of the Demon Slayer corps, I thought this was the moment where she would truly join the show as a real character and turn the trio into a quartet. What a fool I was. I still like Demon Slayer, but I'd like it a lot more if Nezuko got to be a part of it.
(Spoiler Alert) I respect your opinion but i don’t agree with “Demon Slayer has no growth” thing. We’re just getting started, we weren’t even in the half of it. Inosuke and Kanao will kill Upper 2, Tanjiro will kill many upper rank demons, And Zenitsu will kill Kaigaku (the new upper 6 demon) It’s like watching Naruto episode 200 and saying the characters doesn’t grow
Definitely agree with your thoughts on Nezuko. I personally don't like the protagonists as much as I've liked the antagonists. Hopefully some characterization starts happening in the upcoming seasons.
I agree with a lot of your points, Even in the manga the problems doesn't get fixed. The characters doesn't have any growth (exept zenitsu and sanemi (and arguably kanao)), none of the characters have their morals challanged and nezuko is still a mascot (though she gets completely removed from the story so i guess not anymore lmao). Personally i would lower my expectation and just enjoy the stakes and the thrill of the fights cause it's the only thing that makes demon slayer as good as it is today.
I also had some complaints but season 3 did have some development with nezuko and she's helping tanjiro fight too. Check out dragon quest: the adventure of dai it isn't as popular as demon slayer but it's story is told better sometimes than demon slayer
🔥💯🔥 I also thought you were going to touch on Tengen's inappropriate conduct with underage girls (since you opened with the scene), but maybe that could be another video idea. 😊🙏🏽
I understand a lot of your points and frustration but as someone who has read the manga, I disagree. I will say though that it kinda sucks that the more important stuff happens further down the line.
I think I have never disagreed with someone more. There is character development everywhere in fights and outside. Tanjiro with several transformations (new techniques, enrage where he forgot to breath, the combination of sun and water breathing, activation of the mark on his head.) Zenitsu with the Godspeed, Inosuke with the Palisade bite and Nezuko with the enraged blood demon art that later on burned the remaining poison. The only part i agree with is that Nezuko doesn´t get enough screentime, but you can clearly see that a few months have passed since they started training and they went on demon hunts solo (and there we saw Tanjiro fighting with Nezuko) before they met up with Tengen. Zenitsu stood up to daki when she grabbed that little kids ear and Inosuke was like "man now that tanjiro helps with daki i can charge and let zenitsu and tanjiro defend me in the meantime." So he basically trusted both of them. Nezukos Berserker mode is triggered by her hypnosis. "All humans are your family" and daki killed a bunch of them so it is understandable that she enrages (like tanjiro did before her). Sadly she gets so consumed by the rage that she gets bloodthirsty and needs to be stopped by tanjiro. At that moment she doesn´t try to kill him, but want to get rid so she can either eat a human or kill daki, but she doesn´t want to kill Tanjiro or hurt him badly. Tanjiro learned Sun breathing by remembering the hinokami kagura from his dad when he was about to be killed off by Rui. Also isn´t Tanjiro saving the Demons by killing them? The animation was masterclass and as soon as the fight with daki started the tension was always high. I haven´t read the manga so i don´t know how the story will progress, but don´t you think all this things like hashiras not accepting nezuko will be developed later on? The writing is ofc not perfect, but most of your criticism comes from lack of understanding. Maybe you should watch the series against and look out for the nuances or drop it completely if you don´t enjoy it.
Nothing gets developed later on, the characters are all one dimensional. They magically get powerups, because the plot demands it. You think the heros are going to lose, but you know they won't. It's just plot twist upon plot twists. Ouuwieee!!! You sound like a young buck, once you read up on enough Mangas or watch your fair share of animes you'll see how genetic and lame this anime truly is. What got it hype is the animation. Simple. There is no denying it. In today's society, animation trumps story.
For me what was by far the most disappointing thing about season 2 was how they managed to sexualize almost every protruding female character.. Like you said in another video, women can be strong without being objects of fanservice. Also Tengen Uzui has become my least fave character even tough he was one of the characters I was the most excited for in season 1.. I didn't like the slapping scene and I didn't like how they depicted his wives. I also find it very questionable why they decided to give him three busty half naked wives to begin with? I mean we already know why, but still.. Also he's clearly the leader in that relationship, he almost seems like a mentor to them and I don't like that.. It's the harem fantasy for me on that one🙄🙄😩
Then drop the series since there are so many things you don't like because honestly all these things you just mentioned, I don't think they are problematic at all.
@@ylvabrandt6767 so just because some part of a woman's body is exposed, it automatically means she's been sexualized? I can understand where you are coming from, but I honestly think this is an unfair criticism because except for their outfits, there were hardly any parts about them being sexualized. It was simply an outfit choice, nothing else. Literally what they wore neither added nor subtracted anything to the plot. Please let artists own their designs, and if their art isn't your thing or your preference, then it's okay to find something that is, and not criticize their art and design choices simply because you don't like it and when it really has little or no problems.
I'm kinda sad that that they didn't add the little details like why do Ume stab the samurai or maybe we get to the hashira opinion on other hashira I wish they add a bit more but I'm okay with it
I dont agree with some of what you say but you're spot on about Nezuko. The show is technically about her but forgets to put her in it. And its so weird that she STILL has the muzzle in spite of proving time and time again that she won't eat humans (and shes already hypnotized to see them as family so the muzzle is redundant.) Not to mention that shes still fully capable of killing a human with or without the muzzle so its symbolic but overall pointless. And why is she always in the box? I find it frustrating that the show keeps saying how strong she is even though we never see her do anything to justify that. Sure she gains strength by sleeping but mist she sleep ALL the time. Cant she train just once? We've already seen examples of demons other than Nezuko who've sworn to never hurt humans and live alongside them so why cant Nezuko live outside the box? Why can't we see her interact with her brother especially since their relationship is central to the show? She could walk alongside him as an actual character who actually talks with and interacts with him and exists outside of fight scenes. Like the scene where they boys pretend to be girls. They had an acutal girl, Nezuko, to help them infiltrate the red light district but she was in a box.
I agree with everything you said. If you read the manga your fixed version is kinda the stuff happening later on sooo it’s not that bad. Honestly the story of DS is alright. Not good but it’s not awful. I think women in DS is like a spectrum. We will have a good female character later on, but like Nezuko, we do have some that are just crap and literally Pokémon.
Demon Slayer has been my top favorite series ever since the first Season dropped. Since then I’ve immersed myself in the lore of the series and read the entire manga plus the spin-offs, and I guess I could call myself a hardcore fan. BUT let me say, I agree with many of your points in this video. And precisely because Demon Slayer is my favorite series, it has allowed me to notice many of it’s flaws, however reluctant I was to acknowledge them. Some of the worst shows to me are the ones that have SO MUCH potential but just DON’T UTILIZE IT. In fact, I’m currently writing my own spin-off series of Demon Slayer to utilize some of the wasted potential of the original series. (Who knows if I’ll actually finish it, tho, haha) Anyhow, I really liked your take on this and it has helped me to view the series in a new light. Thanks for the awesome video
Oh wow rewriting the script has the same energy as that "real" aot ending fanfiction and the person who "fixed" art on twitter lul. That just proves you are disrespectful towards the creator of the media you consumed. You don't fix something because it's bad, you fix it because it's wrong.
(I personally liked this show very much, so hearing what you said is quite hurting. Well, since I watched all the better videos of yours already, I won’t have to come back to this channel.) This whole critic is literally mostly about Nezuko. I guess that’s what it meant by over popularising one character too much…😑 Like everyone mostly paid attention to Nezuko( I said mostly)so obviously the flaws and character development or whatnots of Nezuko will be huge disappointment, probably until even making somebody not wanting to watch it anymore( and I knew there will be) . Lastly, let’s be honest, Nezuko HAS to stay in the box, her health will deteriorate if she uses her energy too much, so for most of season one after the spider family arc, she is sleeping, for what? To gain health! So training with the boys even at night seems impossible already. This isn’t a show like the big three, it won’t be long, By the way, Nezuko is a demon now, she hardly acts like a human every now and then only, so don’t expect character development too much. ( Hm, my critic is also Nezuko too huh? Not gonna lie, I like Nezuko too, she’s what attract me to watch demon slayer in the first place. But really, I feel like you’re expecting too much from her, which is not a good thing as seen in frozen 2 ) my comments never been popular so I don’t expect people to read this, I don’t think it will get positive reviews anyways. Bets to stay out of it.
I honestly believe her critic of Nezuko is completely off because it sounds as if she doesn’t understand Nezuko as a character when the show already makes it know why she can’t be shown too much. It’s like she wants Nezuko to be there just for the sake of dialogue.

Yeah Nezuko’s super cutesy and useful but doesn’t get to be a real character She doesn’t express opinions and feelings and own goals she just chills around in her box
I disagree I personally think that u need to pay attention more ALSO as the show goes on u will see nezuko come out more and have more screen time SO do not say that there’s no development bc the show hasn’t ended ALSO if u stole the show and made it Abt tanjiro saving demons?!? That defeats the whole purpose of the show (btw this my opinion)

I hope lol
This is awesome. I look forward to seeing more of your content.
Found the 16 year old 😅
I respect your view.
It's no mystery that Demon Slayer has it's faults and it's no mystery that Demon Slayer isn't a perfect show, but you can't say that it has no growth without taking the time to see the changes that take place.
exactly
Good rebutle
I think these opinions are very fair for someone who has only seen the anime but I disagree with most of these points after reading the manga. amazing video ina, I couldn’t agree more with all your points. I’ve had the biggest problem with nezuko, and people calling her a ‘strong female character’ (just cause they have strength doesn’t make them a good female character).
(She had even distracted Yahaba for a bit at the start of the fight.)
2. Swamp Demon. Had Nezuko not been present, Tanjiro would have a hand sized hole in his head.
3. Rui. (Correct me if I'm wrong on this one) She had protected Tanjiro from an attack would otherwise likely would have killed him. (Also helped with beheading Rui, although that technically failed.)
Honorable mentions: The first demon Tanjiro met, right before meeting Urokodaki. (This is here because it wasn't technically important, but she did help a lot.) The Arachnid Demon. (The one with the four legs coming out of his back. Though, it would be reasonable to assume Tanjiro could have handled that.) Enmu. (Many humans would have died had Nezuko not been there to protect them, though this doesn't count as saving Tanjiro.)
I think I might have forgotten a few, but I'd have to re-watch S1 in order to get all of them, and that would take a bit of time.
(Bit of a spoiler alert.)
Gyutaro and Daki despise humanity because of what they did to them.
(Could be wrong about this one.) There's a lot more to it, but I don't want to yeet Akaza's whole backstory into a YT comment section, so let's just boil it down to "He wanted to be stronger"
See the pattern here?
I actually really enjoyed this season but I have been missing nezuko. I would love to see more rewrite videos
I didn't realize this. After hearing what u said the total opinion of mine about ds is changed. Keep doing videos like this queen
YOU ARE VERY VERY CORRECT NEZUKO DOESNT GET SHOWN! SHE NEEDED MORE SCENES and demon slayers only growth was demons being added to fight to get stronger
The camera quality is flawless and such a great video your my favorite anime youtuber
MASSIVE SPOILER:
Good for you that in the manga soon, Nezuko starts talking, does more things, and isn't in the box as much (immune to sunlight). I things in the manga they change somethings up a bit and really helps out the story. I do see the flaws though but I'm very exited to watch this animated and adapted. Go Demon slayer!
I still wish she had more scenes in the manga. If only we had just one more arc before the infinity castle arc
@@shinobuily true
@@shinobuily Same i wish he had more scenes
She still doesn't get any development even after that. And that doesn't happen until nearly the end.
Nothing really happens besides killing every moon sequentially. That story is pretty linear and simple.
You should make a podcast ur voice is very calming
Yes!! Id sub!
Loved the video ❤️
Detailed analysis and wonderful thoughts, truly a POG video. Good work inaa as always :)

- pretty much all demons are mass murders, why would tanjiro ever want to make them human again
- plus the demons clearly don't want to be human again, this is seen through daki, gyutaro and akaza.
I can't believe this doesn't have at least a million views
Honestly I do feel like nezuko is useful to the plot
She just needs more charecter development
Which she did get some in the episode where we get a flashback of her and her mom , she actually got to grieve instead of keeping it in and being tiny and cute , or a badass who doesn't reach her full potential because of the writer
That being said she definitely needs more charecter development.
Inosuke did get development FROM even season 1 , before he could barely work with anyone or stay quite for once and really think before acting , but during the mt.natugomou arc he started showing some hints of charecter development , and it became clearer in season 2
Zenitsu too , even tanjiro said it himself that he can go on solo missions now and was a badass in the final episodes
Tho I do get the gripe , throughout this season nezuko barely got any charecter development while zenitsu and inosuke got a ton, which is frustrating as someone who really likes her , but from a writing perspective I do want to understand why the author makes more time for them than her when she was the reason this show didn't end in 15 minutes.
I do know though that the story is no where close to being done , if I'm not wrong there's still 4 more arcs to get through , so I'm willing to be patient till it ends , rather than already having a set opinion on a show that's not even close to being done
That would be like grading someone's test without them even being given a chance to finish answering.
So I do hope nezuko gets more development in the upcoming arcs
I'm willing to be hopeful , but I don't want to set my expectations too high-
So we'll just wait and see.
Never once did Tanjiro said or even show any desire to gain revenge on Muzan to avenge his family as he has accepted there is nothing he can do to bring them back thus why he wants to do right by his last remaining family member, Nezuko
Regarding the training, it is shown that they have been doing calisthenics and resistance training workouts for months.
Kyle, you make too much sense. You'll be ignored in this comments section.
If Nezuko was capable of being her usual self, then being a demon would feel like an upgrade for her.
i liked the last part. left me feel hopeful, that one day this show will appear
Girl, I dig your takes
You went into a lot of detail about the protagonists and I don't have a problem with a lot those points.
Demon slayer has a big antagonist problem. There is no relation between the demons and due to this every fight becomes so formulaic and feels seperate from each other. This makes me lose interest in the fights( which are the selling point of this show).
But in shounen like Jujutsu kaisen and black clover most of the fights add something to the plot.
they will add something to plot in infinity castle arc
I'm about to write a really long comment/rant so you have been warned:
I'm calling it now
You have not watched season 1
You have not watched the mugen train
And you definitely have not watch season 2.
There are some many contradictions you said and I'm gonna go through most of them but before I do I just wanna say I don't have anything againest you as a person, I just wanna talk about why I think your points are wrong using knowledge from the anime and (occasionally) the manga, so let's get started.
"Demon slayer isn't about tanjiro trying to turn nezuko human again, did you really think that was the case"
Um yea, because it is. Also tanjiro never once said he wants to avenge his family and kill muzan. Tanjiros goal is to get the blood of the upper moons so he can turn nezuko human again, she's an important part of the story and the key to tanjiros humanity.
"We don't see him upset this has happened to his sister"
Maybe you should actually watch episode 1, you might learn something.
"Nezuko does nothing, the story would not change if she was dead"
................ do I even need to explain this?
"Why can every demon talk except for Nezuko"
It is actually explained in the manga why she doesn't talk, but it's a massive plot twist so I won't spoil it.
"Demon Slayer doesn't have any growth, there's no hint the characters have gotten stronger"
Three things
1. During season 2 inosuke shows us that the MCs ranks have gone up
2. They've been training and going on missions for a least 4 months so it's safe to assume they're stronger then they were on the mugen train.
3. I recommend watching Danny Motta's video where he explains how Demon Slayer develops their characters through action.
"What happened in season 2, tell me"
Yea, you're probably right nothing happened, yea,
It's not like they killed an upper moon which hasn't been done in centuries, it's not like they got the blood on an upper moon which is 100% need to make nezuko human again and tanjiro definitely didn't unlock something that is very crucial to the plot (in the manga anyway)
Yea, nothing like that happened (SARCASM)
"He seemed to just know it already"
He was taught it as a kid it's been explained MULTIPLE TIMES.
"They don't develop the characters"
Yea, imagine if Zenitsu did something cool while awake, cough, cough, season 2 episode 10, cough.
"What, when, how is Nezuko so strong"
Well let's look at the facts
- she has muzans blood (she was attacked by him)
- she can change her age appearance (in this case adult)
- she slept for a total of 2 years (which is pretty much to equivalent of eating 2 years worth of humans, or at least close to it)
So yea, this kind of thing makes sense.
Also your point about the build up and pay off doesn't make sense because she can't control the new from yet.
"What was the point of the fight between her and daki"
Yea, let's just completely ignore the fact she tried to eat and kill some lady, that's irrelevant, who cares (SARCASM)
"Make Nezuko the one to take dakis head off"
OH, MY, GOD,.......... demons can't kill other demons, only muzan can kill other demons, that's just common demon slayer logic.
"I can't tell which demons are stronger than others, other than their eyes"
I don't understand your point here, that's the only way to tell.
"All I know is that this demon (akaza) is stronger than this demon (gytaro) because of their eyes"
I still don't get your point
"My turn to write the show, tanjiro will instead be saving demons"
Well that contradicts literally everything, I'm done.

Oh look a Karen!
Got it so it's not about siblings cause sister can't talk??????? You have to elaborate you can't just say stuff!
There genres for women by women there reverse harem, magical girls, and girls with guns
Shoujo and josei anime/manga are written by women for a female audience.
Shounen and seinen are typically written by men for a male audience.
You're better off checking out shounen that are made by women like Noragami, Fullmetal Alchemist, Blue Exorcist, etc
There was a little part for story development that "Tiny" part where Tanjiro got the blood of an upper rank and sent it to that doctor who treats demons...
Thank you for putting words to my biggest frustration of the show.
If you actually pay attention to the show , he is still collecting blood , from other demons , and sends it to tamayo , to create an antidote , before making an irrelevant video please know what your talking about , and also your saying all of this without reading the manga I respectfully disagree
And this what writer want nezuko to become useless human again

7:00 actually tanjiro took to blood of the high ranking demon, i really enjoyed S2 but ig these makes sense
Yes sometimes I even forget Nezuko exists. I thought I was the only one who questioned where Nezuko was and then forgetting abt her in s2.
Nezuko is a wild card. She doesn’t come out often because she would burn her energy too fast and come back to sleep.
Okay so do u got a MAL (MyAnimeList) because I love your taste, also I really agree with what u said about demon slayer season 2~!
Well I know this is an older video but here goes
Spoilers
Personally, I thought the season was fine.
3:24 *Wrong!*
Tanjiro and crew would be dead in the Mugen Train if Nezuko didn't wake them up with her demon art.
I wholeheartedly agree with u and I very much like your rewrite much better
There’s no perfect anime.
Inakyu did you watch the Rui fight
People balk at my dismissal of Demon Slayer. It gets a 10/10 for art. But I don’t connect with any of the characters. It’s interesting, good fight scenes, but you are right on, it lacks depth. I died 🤣 when you said, “Nezuko, I choose you!”
Agreed. Tho inosuke had good character development in my opinion, and I actually thought they did a good job at hyping up stronger demons by contrasting them with other characters and hyping them up from the beginning, and i like the idea that a number on there eye shows how strong they are
THANK YOU, this is literally how I felt about this show,
I definitely couldn't agree more about Pikachu having more character than Nezuko.
your idea of having the demons be swayed by tanjirou to be on the humans' side is SO interesting and i really really REALLY wish this happened bc ive been thinking abt how demon slayer can be interpreted through the lens of class struggle: muzan is the abusive rich guy who takes advantage of disenfranchised and traumatized people by turning them into his pawns for his own gain that he may discard for any reason at all. wouldnt it be such a powerful statement about class solidarity and a criticism of the ultra-wealthy to have all the demons revolt against their master? its already set up by having most prominent demons besides muzan have backgrounds of horror and poverty, clearly meant to make them more sympathetic. its a shame that even while victimization isnt an excuse to perpetuate trauma, most demons except tamayo(not counting nezuko bc she didnt eat anyone, or yushirou bc i dont think he killed anyone and wasnt created by muzan) werent offered any chance at atonement by the story except by dying, after ofc being forced into atonement by the demon slayers' swords first. i agree w you abt nezuko being a prop too, she and so many other characters and plotlines had so much potential that were all squandered......and i think we know why nezuko was wasted like this. its misogyny. god demon slayers misogyny is so egregious it made me want to quit so many times. i cant even get into it rn bc idk where to start but you understand me right
“The show is literally about her, and yet forgets to put her in it”.
You need to review for a larger audience! Cause this is so, “bingo”.
How is Demon Slayer about Nezuko?
@@gillessergant7334 it's same thing the writer ruined such a important character so badly, nezuko's just a fucking dumb clown 🤡 and does nothing
I will continue watching demon slayer because I really like the hashiras backstory but the way the story plays out is disappointing
(Spoiler Alert)
I respect your opinion but i don’t agree with “Demon Slayer has no growth” thing.
I would love more rewrites from you!
I also had some complaints but season 3 did have some development with nezuko and she's helping tanjiro fight too. Check out dragon quest: the adventure of dai it isn't as popular as demon slayer but it's story is told better sometimes than demon slayer
@@flyte707 season 1 nezuko is useful
season 2 nezuko is useless
season 3 nezuko is useful
season 4 nezuko is finally useless
Demon slayer is one of those shows that's always on the verge of being great but then keeps messing up
I personally even have the same thoughts as you have after watching S2.
Well said. Agree 100%
🔥💯🔥
I also thought you were going to touch on Tengen's inappropriate conduct with underage girls (since you opened with the scene), but maybe that could be another video idea. 😊🙏🏽
i finished season 2 today and i KNEW i just knew that you would have a video about the frustation AND CONFUSION that i was feeling. AMAZING VIDEO 💜
This video is sooo true the end of season 2 and all of season 3 proves this even more.
Your videos are soo good
I understand a lot of your points and frustration but as someone who has read the manga, I disagree.
My exact thoughts
Nothing gets developed later on, the characters are all one dimensional. They magically get powerups, because the plot demands it. You think the heros are going to lose, but you know they won't. It's just plot twist upon plot twists. Ouuwieee!!!
You sound like a young buck, once you read up on enough Mangas or watch your fair share of animes you'll see how genetic and lame this anime truly is. What got it hype is the animation. Simple. There is no denying it. In today's society, animation trumps story.
@@roosevelttheodore1799 Ok?
When you said that you wanted to see Nezuko train, I just thought of her taking a power nap
Well the creator knows what anime fans like
Then drop the series since there are so many things you don't like because honestly all these things you just mentioned, I don't think they are problematic at all.
Also how has Tengen's wives been sexualized? Because after the anime, it was mostly Tengen I saw all over the internet especially twitter
@@sassydebbie Literally by the author? The outfits, the proportions?
@@ylvabrandt6767 so just because some part of a woman's body is exposed, it automatically means she's been sexualized? I can understand where you are coming from, but I honestly think this is an unfair criticism because except for their outfits, there were hardly any parts about them being sexualized. It was simply an outfit choice, nothing else. Literally what they wore neither added nor subtracted anything to the plot. Please let artists own their designs, and if their art isn't your thing or your preference, then it's okay to find something that is, and not criticize their art and design choices simply because you don't like it and when it really has little or no problems.
Tbh I like the demon siblings more than the main characters
I'm kinda sad that that they didn't add the little details like why do Ume stab the samurai or maybe we get to the hashira opinion on other hashira I wish they add a bit more but I'm okay with it
Also I'm really want to know your rewrite on Demon Slayer, I really want to read it
@@minnightxx__8708 I'm sure it was explained in the manga that she did this to the guy because he badmouthed her brother
I dont agree with some of what you say but you're spot on about Nezuko.
The show is technically about her but forgets to put her in it.
And its so weird that she STILL has the muzzle in spite of proving time and time again that she won't eat humans (and shes already hypnotized to see them as family so the muzzle is redundant.)
Not to mention that shes still fully capable of killing a human with or without the muzzle so its symbolic but overall pointless.
They had an acutal girl, Nezuko, to help them infiltrate the red light district but she was in a box.
those r some good points >_>
Well, since I watched all the better videos of yours already, I won’t have to come back to this channel.)
This whole critic is literally mostly about Nezuko.
Feminist complaining female character is not a protagonist. Nothing new under the sun
9:06 OMG YES that would've been so cool. so many missed opportunities...
edit: i need ur demon slayer canon complaint fanfic. i NEED it. PLEASE TAKE OVER AND WRITE UR OWN SHOW.
15:42 what the text just said. _that_ would've been amazing /srs, but unfortunately she would have to be a speaking character and not just a pet for that /s. no, but i second this so hard. can you tell i agree w u? LMAO.
16:20 the way you want the story to be written would make demon slayer an actual classic. a masterpiece. LIKE that would be such an op anime, im crying, why, why did u have to make me realize that it had sm potential 😭
ALSO yeah considering the plot, his army wouldn't be able to rebel against him - and i think thats a pivotal part of the plot so i wouldn't change that - but the rest, i agree with.
16:50 off topic but, why have so many beloved anime turned their second season into this? just the cool fights and funny moments. its like they don't know how to progress the story and change it and still have it be a beloved anime.
OKAY so i finished this video, and now i can finally gather my thoughts, and wow, ur so big brain. pls take over their team. this video scratched an itch, i couldn't describe why i hated season two so much (i didn't bother dwelling on the thought because i hated it sm 😭), but everything this video just said. that. that is why. i think i hate the anime more than i hated the actual arcs in the manga for some reason, i dont really think im big brain enough to figure out why. anyways, sorry for the long comment! i had a lot of thoughts, which were all just mostly agreeing with you. anyway thats all T^T
Yeah Nezuko’s super cutesy and useful but doesn’t get to be a real character
She doesn’t express opinions and feelings and own goals she just chills around in her box
yeah wait why the frick is nezuko still chilling in the box when it's night time in the district place
link for your version?
I disagree I personally think that u need to pay attention more ALSO as the show goes on u will see nezuko come out more and have more screen time SO do not say that there’s no development bc the show hasn’t ended ALSO if u stole the show and made it Abt tanjiro saving demons?!? That defeats the whole purpose of the show (btw this my opinion)
heck yeah :D
I really like your rewrite
I agree 110% the second season was fine but it could have been way better
I want your opinion on "I'm a spider so what" pleaseeee
Read the manga it's actually really good. At only 204 chapters you can smash it in an afternoon
as much as i enjoyed the shiit out this show i agree with everything you said...well played
That opening couldn't of had better comedic timing hahaha
they did her *dirty*
Nezuko I choose you 🤣🤣🤣
