I totally agree with Blaze in RM's growth as a person and artist. I feel the same about J-Hope and Jin as well. Despite watching them develop over a decade, we never really knew them. I think Jin said it best that the guys really held themselves back as individuals to give their full selves to BTS. These solo projects feel like a breath of fresh air because the guys are taking that first breath into their own. It's exciting to imagine what the future BTS will be - considering what we've received thus far, the world won't handle what's coming.
Still Life was inspired by still life art, he realized that even though the paintings were done 100's of years ago we still enjoy them, like a flower painting (he uses) it still is enjoyed even though the world moves on and that particular flower died because it is a still life painting it continues to live and move on through history and future. I love this kind of stuff.
I'm stunned with how RM made each song and music video so varied. He is a genius storyteller. The concept for the album, the promotional gigs and the video with his collabs further highlighted how he got into the nitty gritty of creating this obra. Feeling “proud” is exactly what all of us feel for every accolade they receive especially after what they had to go through to get where they are today. Seeing Jin today with a military haircut made me feel empty yet extremely proud. Empty not seeing the 7 of them together for a while, and proud as hell that they are stepping up on their own terms to serve their country. For that, I salute 🫡 all 7 of them!

For me this video really emphasized another interpretation of Still Life that "life can be still" meaning there are moments in life that can be considered "on hold or pauses" eg in our day to day activities- as simple as waiting for our takeaway coffee order at a cafe, or a standstill during heavy traffic during rush hour, or maybe something lifechanging that halts our momentum eg losing one's job, change in careers or even a sad event like losing loved ones but we weather these challenges still doing our best to move forward and live meaningful lives. Because we are still alive / still among the living. Taking it further, cultivating an inner stillness (calm or serene spirit) leads to growth (moving forward in consciousness or mindfulness). 😉 Thank you Namjoon for making us really think about "still life" which can have so many interpretations not only referring to images of inanimate objects in paintings.
