Hello dear viewers, we are here with another of your favorite face2face video, which will be on how to and when to select debt mutual funds.
Our guest speaker, Mr. Kirtan Shah will explain the debt market and mutual funds, and their various categories with our rocking host Mr. Vivek Bajaj.
It begins with the introduction of our guest who is in the finance industry for the past 13 years and is also a CFP. He has done courses in financial engineering and risk management with a graduate degree in Maths and Statistics. He advises and gives training to other investors and traders, which showcases his immense knowledge in this field. He is also the co-founder and CEO of SRE wealth. He has been a headed treasury for an NBFC before starting on his own and is a guest panelist on personal finance shows for CNBC TV 18, Zee Business, ET now & Bloomberg.
He also gives information on a fixed income and fixed deposit, which is still not clear to beginners who want to enter this industry. You will also come across terms like yield curve, yield to maturity, modified duration, and average maturity. Mr. Shah simplifies them for a better understanding, which should not be missed out.
Mr. Shah also demonstrates the technique of investing in funds and receiving the money after maturity according to various calculations.
The role of the bank, financial institutions, central and state government in the whole money market is also discussed. This adds to the background of the topic and provides an understanding of the debt and money market. Borrowers and issuers work together and they form a work pattern that allows the investors and traders to play their cards.
Providing the parameters to select the right fund at the right time, and investing the right amount of money with a maximum net return is also explained thoroughly. The usage of coupons and interest rates in bonds and funds, and the value after maturity is also a significant part of this video.
The connection between, yield, interest rate, and the economy is also covered by Mr. Shah, which plays a major role in the field of bonds, funds, and investments.
He also explains the reason behind yield and interest rate being inversely proportional to each other in the market, and how it can be handled to reduce losses. It also discusses the part of retail investors and how they can make money through simple techniques.
The mention of the equity market is also necessary for comparing it with the debt market, which is a crucial part of this video. This is a golden chance for beginners who want to know about mutual funds and their selection because Mr. Shah is experienced and skilled in the same.

@@KirtanAShah Hi Kirtan, that was one of the best session I have watched on F2F. One small doubt at (22.49 time). How yield were calculated at 6.5 and 5.5 ? Sample calculation would be good.
What an enriching session. Absolutely awesome.
To my chagrin, almost all of the videos related to option trading are having 2 to 3 lac views, though most of them are in fact pretty average in terms of content quality. I think people want get rich quick formulas only. What a glaring anomaly !

One of the best session. Thanks to both of you. My plan is to park my emergency fund in Debt catagory and don't want FD. So will wait for 2nd part for final decision. Thanks once again
Emergency fund should be in FD only u can redeem FD within few minutes... Debt fund redemption requires minimum 1 day... One should not use emergency fund for investment purposes... liquidity should be the priority...

Thank you Vivekji for recording this video. I must say that this is one of the best video so far. Fixed income is a huge market globally much bigger than the equity market. The concepts are relatively difficult and Kirtan made it very easy to comprehend. Really like the way he explained difficult concept of modified duration and YTM. The problem is that we do not have a strong and liquid debt market in India. We should have an active credit derivatives and active debt market with retail participation which will give strength and liquidity. Thank you Kirtan for such wonderful content.

Never thought debt funds would be so simpler. I have decided so far that I would be allocating 100% of my portfolio in equity only as I thought debt funds are too complex, but now, I can diversify my portfolio, thanks to @ElearnMarkets, @VivekBajaj and @KirtanShah

Proper classroom session this was- No selling of Indicator, No beating around the bush, No display of fatty M2Ms or previous years ledgers (which isn't useful for us) and sharing of detailed knowledge on an asset class known very less to people. I am really glad that I saw this video. Have gone through dozens of video on debt but the way it is explained here is unparalleled. I have one question, if someone is investing in debt fund for a very long duration like 7-10 years and through SIP mode, do we still need to avoid long duration fund when interest rates are likely to go up?
