Bought a '70 Olds 88 in 1978, right after graduating from HS, very similar to the one in this video. Mine was the "Holiday Sedan" and didn't have the window pillars, but the interior, body, and vinyl top color were the same. It had just under 60K miles and was spotless, paid $600. What a beast. 455cid, 2bbl, it had tons of torque and was surprisingly fast considering the size and weight. Damn I should have taken better care of that car.
I had this exact car in a 2- door in 77’. Bought it from my moms aunt for $500. 32,000 miles garaged. With that 455 it was nothing to bring that boat to 100 mph.
That's so funny because my Dad had a Green hardtop 1970 Delta 88 Oldsmobile with a 4 Barrel 455 and my buddy and I back in the 80's nicknamed it the boat !
I wish they made cars like this again! Imagine walking into a dealership and buying one? It would be the easiest sale the dealer ever had! "Take my money, I don't need convincing!" xD
My grandfather had this year, he was also involved with GM and was friends with Ransom Eli Olds and we have an autographed book he wrote, Pioneer Days. My grandfather was also the VP of the Alfred P Sloan foundation
I had a 1970 Olds 88, with a 350 Rocket, l wished l had her now OH the Power.. Oh and same color but metalic hardtop. And the muffler was tucked, not seen.
What's with that long tailpipe tip? Our 68-88 had the tip out of site as did most 88s and it was classy, they paid attention to the little things; unlike newer cars with their mufflers (soon to be rusty) hanging down the back like bad plumbing.

Loved this paint color - wish you could get modern cars with it.
Had a 70 98 455 390hp 500 tourqe in 1985. Loved that car.
One of the best looking Olds 88 I think I've seen. I had a 72 model with the 455 back in the day. I gotta find another one.
My Dad bought the 1969 Version and we loved it...until the 1973 gas shortage hit us hard. Still miss it!

The first car I ever drove was my dad's 1970 Delta, similar color to this one. Brings a tear to my eye to see this, thanks.
Owned one like this, nice car.

I'd love one now , those were real cars and you could work on them .
my first car, except mine didn't have the window pillars. I had a true hard top
Nice, but earlier models were a little more sharp.
I need the hubcaps!!
I have the same car 👍🏻💪🏻
