    Great Video! Gave me a great perspective on that ramp as well as the area around the island and hugging sides. I knew it was shallow but this really helps when my boat comes in next week!

    Awesome video! Packed full of information and I loved how you gave folks a heads up about watching for manatees in the canals. I’m just up the road in Punta Gorda.

      Thanks for commenting! I love Punta Gorda. I’m wanting to do a video exploring the Peace River. Was thinking leaving out of Ponce De Leon Park. Any recommendations for things to check out from the water?

      @@thecapecorallife oh man, I grew up down here (in Arcadia). It all depends on how far you want to go to be honest. If you want to see REAL Peace River the way “Old Florida” was seen, it would be worth a drive to Canoe Outpost in Arcadia and travel up into Wauchula. I’ve seen 15 foot gators in there and if you’re into snorkeling, you can even find arrowheads and fossils from Mammoth and Sabre Tooth Tigers as well as Megalodon teeth. Ponce DeLeon Park is absolutely beautiful, don’t get me wrong. To me, there’s just more to experience a bit inland.

      Jeremy. Glad you are getting down here! I hope you enjoy your stay. Here are a few suggestions for things to do:

      Dinner: Slates, Boathouse at Sunset, Jungle Bird
      Parks: Sirenia Vista Park, Jaycee Park, Eco Preserve, Rotary Park
      Beaches: Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach, Lovers Key, Bonita Beach, Sanibel Causeway
      Sun splash Waterpark will be open on the weekends

    Excellent video. Been searching for perspective on the ride from the ramp to open water. I recently moved to NW Cape with a pair of older skis. Any recommendations for other places to drop in that don't require the 25min idle?

      Thanks for watching! The two best ramps I have found for getting to Cayo Costa area are the Matlacha Boat Ramp and the Burnt Store Marina ramp in Punta Gorda. The closest overall ramp but that requires a longer drive to get there initially is the Pineland Marina on Pine Island. This ramp will put you on Cayo Costa in a matter of minutes. Thanks again for commenting and hope to see you out there!

    Marc, is there boat rental nearby? what rate per day we should expect to pay? yes... we are planning to get a small condo ion cape coral. thanks!

    • @thecapecorallife
      @thecapecorallife  2 года назад

      Thanks for commenting! Plenty of boat rentals down here. Harbour Rentals located at Cape Harbour is a popular one for Pontoon boats. Rates are about $250/half day and $400 for a full day. Additional days are usually a little cheaper. I’d love to help with the condo when the time comes. Good luck 😀

    hello. how long does it take you to get to Cayo Costa on the ski from the ramp you launched at?

    • @thecapecorallife
      @thecapecorallife  2 года назад +2

      Ingrid. From Burnt Store Boat Ramp to where we go in Cayo Costa (usually the North Side) takes about 50 minutes. It takes about 20-25 to get through the canal system and past the slow speed zones and then the rest of the trip goes pretty fast. It’s a little longer if you go to the south side by Captiva. Fun trip. Love Cayo Costa! Let me know if I can ever be of assistance to you!

    Also, music is a bit loud relative to you speaking. I feel like I need to turn the music down when it plays and turn you up when you talk.
    Just trying to provide constructive feedback.
