I'm amazed at how lucky that last story turned, the guy could have easily been mauled by someone who thought they were a cat, but instead he found a new friend and it all ended on a more heartwarming note.
Aww, I was not expecting that wholesome turn on the last one. That's a perfect example of one of my favorite quotes from a childhood tv show I love (Ninjago): "The best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend."
That worked for me once, a bully in preschool used to pick on me everyday until I asked him why he was doing it. He explained his situation after taking a moment to get over surprise that someone asked him. Turns out that no one had asked him before. Turns out he was a foster child and was lashing out to deal with his feelings. After our talk he became a good friends. He even started defending me against other bullies, haven't seen him since junior high ended. Did the opposite once too, a friend who was a couple of years older became an enemy after an incident in which I accidentally injured him. He could never get over it, even 10 years later he still tormented me almost every day and didn't end until he moved away. Yes I did apologize but it wasn't good enough for him.

The scariest "Let's Not Meet" story I ever read was called "Scary Sally". It was written from the perspective of a boy whose older brother was being stalked throughout his childhood. Plot twist... MY BROTHER WROTE THE STORY! 😳😲😱 Yes this is actually true and it all really happened. Matt is right, this stuff CAN happen to you!
@@rickymarks8234 I know right! What makes it worse is when I first read it I didn't know my brother had written it! He told me that he had kept it a secret from me as a kid and I only found out because I was able to piece it together from segments of memory that corresponded with the story. It was SO weird!
Wow, I have a similar experience. At this point my neighborhood even started calling it a Urban Legend due to how many people witnessed this ‘being’. It honestly can happen and it’s very spooky 😅
@@jimmyjeff1777 I was being stalked but I didn't know the extent of it until I read my brothers story. It filled in a lot of the gaps for me :) We're both fine now though! Thank you!
Matthew literally read through maybe thousands of stories to only end up picking 5 .Proud of your hardwork Matthew and thanks for hand-picking the stories for us.
I'm so used to hearing RUclipsrs like "Let's Read" and "Mortis Media" just reading the Reddit post directly, but I like how Matt only summarizes it in his own words and refers to the author as "Redditor". I'm not saying it's better than the others, since I still listen to them, but it's a refreshing take, especially since he includes stock clips relevant to the story.
Matt! I didn’t get a chance to comment on your most recent video. I got to watch it, but didn’t get to comment. I love you! I feel you, Matt. Same here. Worse than ever. There has been a war going on externally and now it’s internally and that’s when a person feels absolutely helpless. No means of communication, no way to talk it out, just sit, stew, and take it. It’s not fair really it’s not. I’m sorry your going through what you are going through. Especially since you aren’t at fault. I’ve been trying to find things to do to boost my self esteem, since ya know, it’s been beaten and thrashed around like it’s been in a shallow pool of sharks. In fact, what is self esteem at this point. Anyway my guy, try to cheer up. We’re here for you regardless! I’m always ready for your content, man! Hugs and more hugs coming your way! I’m sorry I wasn’t quick enough to get to comment. But I’m still choosing to let you know I saw your video, and I am going to keep on seeing your videos; if you shall have me. We’re all here for you! 💜🦋🌼 EDIT-creepy...I’m posting this about 3am or so in the morning and this video is only a 1:05 in and you talk about the scariest things happening latest at night/morning. Edit- the last story really got me. It’s broke my heart, and I wonder if they had any conversations of any sort about his childhood while he was living there despite the television and cartoon watching; I just wonder if he was able to talk with the new inhabitants. Great video, Matthew!
That last creepy pasta almost made me cry. I'm still never opening the door for someone eating cigarette butts but still, it reminded me that empathy is so important.
Hi Matt pls never stop posting your platform brings me joy in such a terrifying world or maybe i am just afraid of it because i watch too much scary content 🤔
In the first story, they said the boy had a bike with him, but got into a car. If that's the case, I wonder what happened to the bike. Also the story about the boy who saw a ghost, started as two brothers and ended as a sister. A bit confusing but I still enjoyed all 5 stories. I love when Matt goes dark. He and Rob can juggle dark and cheerful very well.
I was walking through town one evening, this was a few years back, and as I was about to finish crossing through a field that was a popular shortcut, a car pulled up in the parking lot the field exited to, headlights facing me. A young guy (early to mid 20s), got out of the passenger side, appeared to very briefly speak at the driver, who then drove off, and lood straight at me, ans then proceeded to call me by my first name, as though we were well acquainted. I had NEVER met or even seen him in my life.
It hits me extra hard in the emotions in the story about the escaped mental patient that the kid ran down to the door because he thought his pet was back only to wind up terrified.
I’ve heard about the last story on another channel, cjades, I believe as she reads a lot of let’s not meet and Tom has autism and is mostly non-verbal and after his mom died he ended up in an assisted living home and the child who was once afraid of him could see now as an adult that he wasn’t trying to hurt him so he let him in and contacted the place he kept escaping from and they explained he had grown up in that house with his mom and so the owner who is now grown has it where Tom has it scheduled for him to come visit once or twice a week and it has stopped Tom from trying to escape the assisted living home bc he missed his mom so much that he kept trying to come home and his carers have said that Tom is much happier now that he gets to visit his childhood home every week and he’s not as depressed. It’s heartbreaking that he misses his mom so much to do that but heartwarming that the home owner took the time to find out why Tom kept coming to his home and allowing him to visit bc it was a place of comfort for Tom and to now be able to continue being a place of comfort for Tom is just phenomenal. I love that there are such beautiful souls out there willing to take time out of their lives for those of us that are born with special needs and pure hearts & minds. It gives me great joy to hear of these kinds of stories with happy endings. ❤️🥰
The last story is absolutely awesome. I never expected a story in a creepy collection video would be heartwarming! Thanks for sharing. Would be wonderful if there were enough of these types of stories in the world to make entire videos of them.
I love list videos and have been a fan of Matt's for years. I was sad to hear Matt was going to discontinue making them last year. But now that he is making them again with fewer items on the list but a ton more details for each item on the list I am ecstatic.
That first story was taken from an account of a grandmother in the same situation with a granddaughter named Alyssa. Turned out the guy was actually a man who was stalking Alyssa
I was listening to this and I am going to share something that anyone outside of our family doesn't know. My cousin was talking to someone on social media and they had told her they wanted to meet her. Well it went on for while. One night they kept saying they would meet her soon not long after that they were tracked and arrested in her neighbors back yard she was 13 or 14 at the time. It was terrifying how close they came. U always think that it can never happen to u or ur family. Plz plz plz ppl b careful
The story about the man eating the cig butts, the man had autism. I knew this story at the beginning of the explanation of it. Its very sad, and had me in tears, as I have a grown son with autism. This story broke my heart!! 💔. I'm so happy that the little boy grew up, and discovered the truth story behind the man. It still puts me in tears whenever I hear about this! My heart broke for the autistic man! He just wanted to be where he knew to be home. And feel safe again. The home owner, with his new knowledge, extending his hand and continuing weekly meetings, gives me so hope in the kindness of ppl. There needs to be so much more of that these days!!
Pro tip: don't open your door to strangers. Specially to ones that have serious mental diseases AND attacked the police. Not exactly the best dice to roll.
There were some missing details. Tom was a non-verbal autistic and had lived in the house with his mom until she died. The only reason he became aggressive was basically fear, he was otherwise pretty docile.
That last one was kind of sad. I am so glad that I don't use any social media, and all my kids grew up before the internet was a thing so I don't worry about them, or my grandkids!!
Ghost stories fascinate me. I grew up in a very odd house. I don't speak in absolutes, but very strange things happened in that house. Witnesses include my mother, father, brother, sister, and many guests. Many who had no idea about our past experiences.
As a person who grew up with an older brother, every time he confessed to being afraid of something I always instantly believed him because he never came to me and expressed a vulnerability unless he had no choice (wanting to keep up the strong and brave big brother facade to his little sister I guess).

When me and mom used to do newspapers in Paris Ontario, we would occasionally run into people who would almost appear to be in accidents or lying on properties looking as if they had died. We would call the cops, and they would urgently inform us, do NOT get out of the car and keep the doors of the car locked. So I completely believe story number 2
For me it was a personal experiance.I was around 7 or 8.
