It's so much fun watching people go to Disneyland for the first time. Yes, our castle is small, but there is an intimacy to our park that no other Disney park for me (including DCA) has ever matched.
+johnfalcon84 It still boggles me that they can upgrade so much of the theme park technology, yet the audio systems for rides like Jungle Cruise and the Canal Boats still sound like you're ordering drive-thru in a hurricane.
I agree! I don't think it was merely audio, he just sounded like he didn't care what he was talking about. I'm sure it gets VERY monotonous repeating yourself over and over but you rarely catch someone like that at Disney World or Universal Orlando
My best friend Aaron and I went to Disneyland together about 6 months before he was killed by getting hit by a truck. As much as this made me miss him, it also brought back so many amazing and hilarious memories I have of us being big kids there. I miss you Raron ( what I used t call him ) and thanks for the video guys. Cherish every moment xo
At the beginning you reference the size of everything, but that was as Walt built it on a $17 million budget and only one year to build it in 1955, which was a feat in and of itself. Disneyland has 46 acres compared to Disney World's 25,000 acres. While DLR does pale in comparison to the sister parks in terms of size , it is still the mother ship and the only park where Walt's feet touched. It is hallowed grounds. It also has more rides between the two parks per capita than WDW's four. Disneyland is definitely a locals park but with a metro are population of close to 14 million and a state with 39 million it has more than enough in state visitors to draw from even though people come here from every state and nation. Thanks for visiting.
I love watching you both explore Disneyland (my home) for the first time because it’s exactly how I felt when I first explored Disneyworld (your home). It’s like getting to experience the magic for the very first time!
I rewatch this series all the time. Nothing like seeing a Disney fan experience a new Disney park for the first time! Especially one as magical as Walt’s park! Also, I smile at Tim and Jenn before they even knew they’d have two beautiful boys in their near future. ❤
Last time I went to Disneyland was lime 2 years ago.My school choir was entered in a competition called music at the parks. basically preform for like 1/2 a hour and spend ur day at the park. any ways it was really late and the people who were gonna drive me and my papa home were still on a ride so we went to the entrance where disney land and California adventure meet. I was really tired so I layed down in a corner using my backpack as a pillow and I was watching the stars. after like 5 minutes when you wish upon a star started playing and i swear to god I'm not joking, right at that moment I saw a shooting star.. maybe disneyland truly is magical..
Oh my gosh guys... I am freaking LIVING watching this right now! I went to DLR in Sept 2014 after being a very avid WDW traveler. Needless to say, DLR is now my favorite park! I am SO excited to see the rest of the footage!
We are so excited to discover your channel. We have been to Disney World once ( most incredible trip of our lives) but we have always been interested in Disneyland too, so these vlogs are awesome! Thanks guys! Lots of love from Australia. Siobhan and Danny xx
I used to go to Disneyland all the time as a kid and never thought anything bout the size of the castle there. Then going to Disneyworld so much, from living in Florida, and going back to Disneyland and seeing the castle...it looked so crazy small, like a miniature castle or something! Its still cute but, Disneyworld spoiled me!
I love Tony's. Its wild how small Disneyland looks compaired to Disney World. Alice's ride looked AMAZING. Thanks Tim and Jenn for sharing your videos with us. I look forward everyday to seeing new videos.
I went to disneyland during this time as well, it being an anniversary for us. Christmas 2015 was the best disneyland experience we had, so thank you very much for these videos.
I'm glad I found this video because I'm a Florida (and Disney world) native and I'm going to Disneyland for the first time in July. Glad to see you guys think it's as weird as I do
Size wise it's like Paris. We went there first when son was small, then when he was around 9/10 years old we started coming to Orlando. Few years ago the 2 of us had a quick New Year trip to Paris's Disneyland, and we both said, "is that it" forgot how small it was.
I love you guys! For the first time I get to see what it's like inside all the rides that I am too scared too go on. I've been to both parks several times and can't make myself to try so many rides. Finally I got to see splash mountain! Thanks
Loving the Disneyland videos!! Just wish they were in a playlist so I can watch them in order without having to go seaching for them. 'Cause I was waiting for all of them to be uploaded to watch them together. And I've been watching all other daily vlogs. So it's kind of tricky when they're not in playlist form. Really enjoy watching you guys!
I love that you guys love dark rides. Agreed that Alice is amazeballs now. I always love Alice but those updates make it INCREDIBLE. It was so exciting to think that you guys were in town here in LA and having a great time and having zany adventures with Adam the Woo and Justin Scarred.
We totally saw you guys when you were eating at Flo's V8 cafe but we didn't want to bother you while you were having breakfast. I'm glad you guys had a great time.
Dark rides are the only reason you go to Disneyland. You can get thrilled rides dime a dozen at other theme parks. But Dark Rides, Disneyland is where it at.
I've only ever been to Disneyworld, so seeing this in depth look of Disneyland is really cool! Surprised at the layout changes and the size of the castle. Really cool to see it all though!
I have passes and during the summer me and my family are going EVERY WEEKEND I’m so grateful and blessed to be able to have passes ugh I love Disney land I wish I could live there
as someone that grew up going to Disneyland Resort in California, it is always interesting to see what others think that come from where the other parks are located.
Okay so it’s quarantine and I’m just going through videos. This was on in the background and I heard a scream that sounded very much like my brother’s. I was so sure that it was him and for some reason I checked my calendar first. But at 13:13, that was my brother screaming from the front row of Big Thunder. More funny to me than you but I came across your channel almost 2 years ago. It’s just so oddly coincidental (?) in a fun weird way.
Jenn, your dance looked just like Hunter's! How much better is Thunder Mountain at Disneyland??!! So jealous that you got to ride Mr. Toad's! I loved that ride!
I am surprised you guys were cold! In my head I thought California was relatively warm. I've never been there, so thanks for the great (and highly informative) fun video! :)
Meteorological lesson for the day--California gets cold too in the winter. Both NoCal and SoCal get pretty cold at night even in summer. The reason is a blend of a cold ocean and mountain air. The Pacific along the California coastline is cold . The polar ice melt flow from Alaska makes its way down. The water temps of the Pacific around the Bay Area stay in the 50s the whole year. It's not much warmer in SoCal. At night on a 90 degree summer day and without the sun to warm things up, the breeze off the ocean mixed with the breeze from the colder air from the mountains will drop temps down into the 60s and at higher elevations even down to the 40s. Vegas gets colder than we do in the winter. Look at the highs for the highs in Vegas this week and not a day above 50. However, we are closer to Hawaii than Florida is so if you need an 80 degree fix in December, it's a short flight. We are most happy to have rain and snow because we have been bone dry for 2 years.
So excited to see your take on Disneyland love watching Disney world vlogs but we are thinking of going to California for our 10 year anniversary loving it so far thanks for sharing your experience 😁
It's crazy isn't it how close the parks are together! I love it! Much different than Disney world. I hope to go back to world soon! I like Disneyland better tho
I gotta say I love your documentary of your vacation at D California !! One thing I liked the most was your verification of how clean and neat the park is , we have been almost every year in the past 10 and say the same thing . We have never been to W D W so we couldn't say how the park is . But thank you for your video ! Love your stash sir and your mouse ears Mrs !❤️
Disneyland is my home park so it's funny you point out the same differences just opposite of me when I went to WDW for the first time. Also you got the WORST canal boat driver I've ever heard. They are usually way better.
omg so excited to finally have the time to watch your disneyland trip! disneyland is the main park I go to but I'm stopping so I can save for disneyworld!♡♡♡
That little boat ride was so nice! I love the little houses and palaces! SO AWESOME! I wish they would so sell them I would so love to put one in my garden!
it"s always a joy watching your videos. we are from the netherlands and went 2 years ago to universal at orlandoand loved everything about it. we didn't went to disneyworld but it will be our next trip because me and my wife we both love theme parks and we following your videos quite a while now. only disneyland we went is in paris and we just being there last summer..maybe it's something for you guys to visit it..atleast the castle is bigger LOL…thx for the videos..greeting reggy
Great video! You two are so fun and the Matterhorn ears are great! Your reactions when you first walked in made me laugh. I was really surprised, too, on my first Disneyland trip that everything seemed a bit miniature compared to WDW. I love that you can park hop to DCA by literally walking across the street, though!
Your childlike wonder and excitement gives me life! Hahaha! There’s such a wonderful charm to dark rides isn’t there? And I wouldn’t describe any of Disneyland as small. I think intimate is a better word. ;) It’s so refreshing to see your perspective of the parks. It's funny how you compare Disneyland as being bizarro compared to Disney World. I had the same thought except vice versa during my first visit to WDW. I was most looking forward to your reaction to Disneyland and California Adventure being so close together. Conversely, I immediately found the layout of Universal Orlando quite familiar and similar to the Disneyland Resort. Also I have to say, I love your POVs on your Theme Park POV channel! Can't wait to see the rest of your Disneyland vacation vlogs!! :)
You can’t make fun of our castle. It was built first 16 years before Disney World. It has gone through much more and was built on a budget. Also built in a year. It deserves more recognition honestly
How many days would you suggest would be enough in each park to do all the rides and get the full experience without being rushed? Also did you feel you had enough time?
On Mr Toad's wild ride, there is a hidden Micky on the right stain glass door as your car enters the ride..... I also hope you took the tour through Sleeping Beauty's castle!
I miss riding Mr toads wild ride so much in Disneyworld Tim and Jen and the explosion effects in Big thunder mountain were really cool my friends im glad you had fun but Matterhorn looks really rough.
I can't stop laughing at the boat guide. Wish Brianna still worked there she was amazing and if anyone wants to know what I'm talking about look up Briberry's old boat videos. They're great! All of her videos from when she worked at disney were amazing, so many good character moments!
Most of the Disneyland rides I have never been through the original lines. I go through the handicap lines or through the exit. People say they feel so tired and sore after walking in Disney but I will never know that pain. It is nice tho because for splash mountain we just go through the exit and it takes us maybe 10-30 minutes to get on
When I was there just the weekend before it was so busy because of the candlelight processional, which is set up right in front of the main street train station. We were pushed into a backstage area to get to the castle area.
Hey Tim you caught me on the Omni bus while you was filming. I was in all orange and telling my wife, look there goes Tim. We couldn't catch up to you to say hi. Glad you enjoyed Disneyland
I have so got to get a camera like yours the Alice ride was so life like I video it every time for my kids to watch and we just watched this video and they were like wow it just like we are in Disneyland right now thanks for the great video we cant wait for part 2 and 3
Really enjoyed this video and looking forward to the rest of them :). What tour plan did you follow and is it online? I'm a WDW and have been to Disneyland twice (several years ago). I love the differences between the rides and it looks like they added some effects to Alice and Big Thunder since the last time I was there.
It's so much fun watching people go to Disneyland for the first time. Yes, our castle is small, but there is an intimacy to our park that no other Disney park for me (including DCA) has ever matched.
we have matterhorn bobsleds we are only one no other park's have it
Lauri Carlson but, do have expedition Everest? 🙄
Never mind you’re right comparing castle parks why change the narrative ?
Lauri Carlson expedition Everest is way better imo
@@captainsopaclash9669 it’s basically Disney Worlds version of Matterhorn
Since DL is my “home park” I’ll never get tired of rewatching these and seeing Tim and Jenn’s first impressions 😂👍🏼
Disneyland is my home park too
saaaaammmmmmme
That boat guide sounded soooo enthuastic..
+Emily Stobs I was waiting for subtitles.
+Heather Gray the boat guides are always so enthusiastic. I don't know why this guy wasn't. :(
+Emily Stobs I like the way he sounded when he said, "..curiouser and curiouser" LOL
My best friend Aaron and I went to Disneyland together about 6 months before he was killed by getting hit by a truck. I laughed probably more than I should have at the monotone boat guide.
+Ellie Steadman It takes a good guide to really make some of those rides.....he got the job done but was a bit "meh"
me too
When he suggested we all make a wish, I wished for a better narrator.
I’ve yet to have a good narrator. Sorta sad 😢
Ellie Steadman plpp
I rewatch this series all the time. Nothing like seeing a Disney fan experience a new Disney park for the first time! Especially one as magical as Walt’s park!

one of the things I miss about Cali...seeing mountains in the background whereever you are..!!!
texas is flat.
I live in the Bay Area on a hill/mountain with a very steep grade. It comes at a price. And we have mountain lions to deal with once in a while too.

I hate when people compare Disneyland to Walt Disney World. They are obviously very different but learning to appreciate them both is what matters.
Nah. You're not a theme park enthusiast, so you wouldn't know. It's actually pretty fun to do.
Also, we do appreciate them both.
@@jonny_mazerati9410 its funny becuase im pretty sure it was Walt's idea to build disney world
Oh my gosh guys... I am freaking LIVING watching this right now! I went to DLR in Sept 2014 after being a very avid WDW traveler. Needless to say, DLR is now my favorite park! I am SO excited to see the rest of the footage!

i love the BIG reveal and "look how tiny!" it reminded me of olaf "it's so cute, like a little baby unicorn!"
Welcome to the So Cal way of Disney. Have fun!
I went to disneyland during this time as well, it being an anniversary for us. Christmas 2015 was the best disneyland experience we had, so thank you very much for these videos.
This is cool that you took a trip out here to Disneyland. Anytime you want to come back. Feel free to come on back and hang out at the parks here.
I love how the Mad Hatter and Alice break the 4th wall searching for hidden Mickeys

Loved the video
Its super funny for me, as a SoCal native, to hear your reaction to Disneyland. Guess its all about perspective right?
Jenn's reaction to Hyperspace Mountain cracked me up.
Looking forward to the other Disneyland vlogs! Matterhorn has to be one of my favourite rides!
