Nice one Sambo, but in my opinion the Clio makes a bit more sense overall as compared to the Suzuki and the Picanto, from experience you'd soon be fedup with it especially as soon as it lapses on warranty and service plan - unless of course your priority points are cost (value) including service and fuel. In those options I'd much rather negotiate around the clio, better comfort and safety, drives much better as well but again there's an issue of the R200k budget. 🥵 Personally I wouldn't advice that you got with the Picanto as a first time buyer

Disagree. The KIA and Suzuki will be laughing all the way to the bank when it comes to resale and depreciation. Nobody wants to buy secondhand French cars no matter how good they are. The Clio is a no from me.

Anyway I also went for a polo gti for my 1st car & walked with a fully kitted citroen ds3 at half the price & under 200k & that was 5 yrs ago & all is as well as mama's sunday dinner.
As for Suzuki Swift, once got an accident and it never released airbags so for me I wouldn't recommend it. Even though I was a passenger it's balance couldn't save a us from from the paping part although my English is not that proper too.
