Those desert pueblos are quite thought provoking. They were built before Europeans arrived, thus they had no horses. This means all hunting would have had to be done on foot. In a desert climate that is no easy feat. Also think about wood for fires. Unless there were more trees in the area at the time they were built, what did they do for fire? Also, think of how difficult growing corn or other crops would have been in that climate. Water too would have been an issue.
This video is good stuff. Well thought out. Very informative and interesting. Good productions values. Props to you Bex.

Because, I really enjoyed this video of Sunset Crater and Wupatki! Between 1996 and 2016, I brought groups of my 8th grade Science students to these sights, Montezuma Well and Montezuma Castle National Monument, as well as Grand Canyon. We traveled to AZ from Wisconsin. Forty different trips, with 1,628 participants, including myself. I retired from teaching in 2016. Really miss my students and my annual trips with them to AZ! You were there at just the right time of day for wonderful lighting for your videos! Thanks for making my day!

We visited both Sunset Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument and Wupatki National Monument when we came to the West in the spring of 2016 and 2018. You are correct they both are amazing places to visit as was most of the West. Being from the Northeastern US this whole area is so different from our land formations. Thank you for reminding us of this area. My wife got surprised by a lizard near Wupatki (no harm, just surprised).

It's always a good day when I find a new video from you Bex! The ruins are beautiful and the information you provide is very informative and interesting. I especially loved the shots at the end of the ruins. The orange rocks agains the blue background and then the moon...lovely! I often wonder how it would have been to have lived there so many years ago.

Excellent video Bex. Simply amazing. Got me thinking and asking question that we will never know the answers to.
    1. The landscape must not have been as dry as it is now.
    2. It took a tremendous population to build the structure.
    3. How did they feed some many people.
    4. Hard to understand how native Americans could have had the knowledge and skill to build those massive structures. Because they had not even invented the wheel.
    Very mysterious indeed.

Just wondering have you ever considered starting a small group of travelers. I know a lot of women that want to do this but don’t wanna travel alone ( in their own vehicle of course). Just curious. Maybe you like traveling alone I don’t know! Just thought I’d ask because it seems like it would be more safer. I enjoy your videos!!! Keep up the good work.
