    Looks sick! Getting myself a Transalp early next year. Want to modify it like yours, especially the adjustments for rider height (Fellow 192cm Dutchman here). Also, really like the look of the fairing. Excited to see the video on that! Great work!

    Beautiful setup! Thanks for sharing this. I have been planning to lift my alp for a long time now but never got to it. Right now I am building the whole front end of the bike - navigation tower, fairings, double headlights etc. Once I am done with this I will go for a bike lift for sure. I didn't know about those fork extenders. That's very useful info. I was about to check for crf forks and all that. Cool. Nice setup, man. Btw, I read about removing the "catalyc converter" a while ago. I believe some adjustments on the carbs are needed in order to prevent the engine from running too lean or rich. Also, there was a vacuum pipe under the fuel tank that must be plugged up. Cheers.

      @@lostridera No carb adjustment needed! Atleast in my case. I’ve read some stuff where people went for smaller main jets (125). But mine had always ran great on the original jets.

      Thanks! Yes, my next mod will definitely be a custom seat with where the dip is filled. It’s actually annoying me a lot while riding.
      The skidplate is made here in Holland by a guy on the Dutch Transalp forum. But it’s his last batch and they’re all sold out. I can find one with a toolbox welded to it though..

  • @atedevries6645
    @atedevries6645 Год назад +1

    Nice setup! Really like the Boano fairing! How did the fairings fit?
    A friend of mine has also a raised transalp 650, with lowered footpegs. The mounting of the footpegs (the tabs on the aluminium sideplates) broke off during the last trip we made. Maybe you should consider the higher seat first and then lower the footpegs. My friend also told me about hitting his boots and pegs to the ground and rocks when he was riding in the ruts.
    I also raised mine by about 5cm, but since I'm 175cm I'll not raise it further 🤣 I run with Wilbers progressive springs in front+fork extenders and a YSS shock in the rear, did not (yet)turned the linkage arm.

    • @Jaggi96
      @Jaggi96  Год назад

      The fairing is made by African Queens and not Boano! I’ve worked with fairing from both and i must say that the AQ fit and finish of the whole kit is alot better than Boano’s. That goes for not only the fairing but also for the tower and especially the lights.

    Wanted to do them but not sure if they are worth it in terms of safety?

    • @Jaggi96
      @Jaggi96  9 месяцев назад

      The forks aren’t held by the threads, they are held by clamping the forkleg in the triple clamp. The stress on the actual threads is minimal. I’ve been running them HARD for the last 5 years with absolutely zero problems. I know multiple people who have done so on Transalps and Africa Twins.

      IMO, yes, worth it. The suspension is still basic with a lack of adjustment. But it does get more capable. Also more predictable. But it’s still 20 year old technology so don’t expect the performance of a USD WP or similar. The ride doesn’t loose comfort if you ask me. It’s a bit stiffer but the predictability sure makes it easier to ride.
