    I love Goosebumps as a kid! I can’t remember for sure now but I’m pretty sure I read all of the original series and some of the “chose your own adventure” ones. My top favorites were Be Careful What You Wish For, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, The Barking Ghost, The Beast from the East, and Egg Monsters from Mars. Egg Monsters in particular has stuck with me over the years as I just remember being absolutely creeped out while reading it.

    I was OBSESSED with the Goosebumps series as a kid!! I remember when they were first released. It was a HUGE deal. It made my little horror loving heart super happy! I had read and reread all of the ghost story compilations in my school library so these were a godsend.
    I’m commenting as I watch sooo....
    Scarecrow Walks at Midnight super solid!
    NIGHT OF THE LIVING DUMMY!! That one was so so good!
    Welcome to Camp Nightmare!!! That one was one of my favs!!
    Stay out of the Basement! That one was freaky. Reminded me of Little Shop of Horrors.
    One Day at Horrorland!!! I loved that one!
    A Night at Terror Tower was a good one! It reminded me of a Scooby Doo episode.
    Okay some of my favs you didn’t mention:
    The Horror at Camp Jellyjam
    Phantom of the Auditorium
    The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb
    Be Careful What You Wish For
    Piano Lessons Can be Murder
    The Cuckoo Clock of Doom
    It Came From Beneath the Sink
    Egg Monsters From Mars
    Now I want to know how old you are because I read these as they were released. I wish I still had mine.
    2 things I’ve learned from this video: Gav is a scaredy cat, and the US Goosebumps covers are waaaay better than the UK ones.

    • @GavinReadsItAll
      @GavinReadsItAll  4 года назад +2

      Bobbi Reads Too Much I’m currently 27 but I was around 5 when I discovered Goosebumps and The Ghost Next Door was my first ever Goosebumps book. I love your list too, I need a re-read and see if any of those make my new top 10 or if it stays the same. I could talk Goosebumps all day!! We have so many of the same tastes, it’s like you are the American version of me, it’s crazy haha. Also I love my U.K. covers how dare you haha 😂

    • @BobbiReads
      @BobbiReads 4 года назад

      Gavin Hetherington Well since you and Codie are basically the same person and Codie and I are the same person so we are just a weirdo triad and I stan that. 😂😂
      When the first book Welcome to Dead House was released in the US I turned 8 the same month. So you do the math on how elderly I am. 😂 Some of my favs were “scary” and others were the funny scary ones. Like It Came from Beneath the Sink was just goddamn ridiculous. 😂 My little kid self found Phantom of the Auditorium to be completely atmospheric. Horror at Camp Jellyjam has always been my favorite. I think it was the creepy ass camp counselors that did it.
      Some of the US covers are freakier than the UK ones. I should just tweet them all at you. 😂😂 For instance Slappy was a lot freakier looking on the US covers.

    Sooo, I’m an “old” 80s baby. I kind of missed the boat on Goosebumps. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I was really big into Fear Street. I feel you on how this R.L. Stine era triggers fears in you from these books as an adult. 😂😂😂 I do remember Stay Out Of The Basement. Omygosh! I think the U.S. cover for this was different! I think I actually read this one! 🤗✨✨ I also remember The Haunted Mask! :) I I never knew Goosebumps had all of these games! :) I remember Night of the Living Dummy. A Night In Terror Towers sounds good too! I want to read The Haunted Mask series! I couldn’t imagine not being able to take off the mask. Thank you Gavin for this video! 😊✨✨ I really want to try some of these out. Maybe I will read one for Believathon! 💙❄️✨ Love your outro music! :) Have a good night! Looove yooou!💕

    Thanks for your opinions on your old Top 10 books. I've never read any Goosebumps books, instead I read books on "real" supernatural and ghost sightings as a child. However, I have been very curious about this series and I am keeping an eye out in charity shops for any cheap ones popping up. Would you say most of the stories can be read independently?
    I've definitely got a fear of ventriloquist dummy's too, didn't need to read Goosebumps for that. I fear almost anything with a not quite human appearance e.g. wax dolls, mannequins, baby dolls. : P
    I keep a look out for Horrorland and Night in Terror Tower specifically.

    • @GavinReadsItAll

      PocketTails you can definitely read most of these without reading others first. I think the only one that may need reading in order are the Haunted Mask books. But most you can just dive straight in.

    I have loved goosebumps since I was little I’m 21 now and I now have read all original 62 and own them all! I would love to see a blog where you read them and see your reaction to them now! I feel like it would be fun! Goosebumps is the reason I got into reading and they are so much fun! My favorites has always been the phantom of the auditorium and the werewolf of fever swamp! My sister had Goosebumps books but by the time they started coming out I was already on to Point Horror so I never owned any. I read some of my sister's though. I think she had the first 10 (according to the UK order). I remember Say Cheese and Die, Stay Out of the Basement, one where they find a mirror in the attic and the brother is left-handed and gets replaced with a reflection, one with a family of monsters that eats a teacher (I think??). It was a long time ago. I'm old! R.L Stine wrote some of the Point Horror books as well but I can't remember which ones. I've only got a few here - most of them are at my dad's.
