Hi, I've got the same machine, but the flame blow's back towards the operator, pressure is good and we fitted a new jet in the end but can't find where the new non- return valve goes which came with the service kit. Have you any ideas whats wrong with it?
I do hope you have installed a flame arrester in this system?? If the flame was to travel back past the valve, you will have been holding a pretty big bomb!!!
It's as close as one can get to organic using hydrocarbons. Purified paraffin (highly refined kerosene) is relatively nontoxic, enough so that it is used by fire breathers, straight in the mouth. I wouldn't recommend it, though. Us Yanks like to use propane, burns hotter at 3k than kero at 2.2k, but kero is more energy dense.
Yes, the fire breathers. Nor would I trust the non-toxic bit, bearing in mind fire breathers do spit most of it out again. I have heard of at least one child dead from ingesting lamp kerosene. Re what is the hotter flame, there is more to that story. Apparently the kerosene flame is more dense, insofar that it reflects heat from the heated object back onto it. The effect is that the cooler kerosene flame is effectively better at heating an object than the hotter but more far-infrared-transparent propane flame is. Get your mind around that one. This has given problems in aircraft parts certification, where fire resistance standards have traditionally been specified against the more aggressive kerosene blowtorch... which no-one actually manufactures nowadays.
2:50 *"Is this normal.. cause it looks as dangerous as _ _ _ _ !"* So basically if you have a weeds problem in your garden that worries you. Buy one of these..... Burn your house down, and your garden to a crisp.. You are no longer worried about weeds... *No more problem.*
STOP! Do not use Petrol or White Spirit in these machines! You will almost certainly suffer death. Only use PARAFFIN. No joke - only use PARAFFIN. Thanks!
Thanks, yet another use for this versatile item, I've been using mine instead of shaving my legs - painful - but effective.
I got one of these doesn't work like this it doesn't form a jet at all just burns up the paraffin and goes out???
"...what ya doin' there Carl?" Thanks for this
Carl? What are you doing now?
What you doing there Carl?
Gives a new meaning to the phrase, "scorched earth" ;-)
Carl is now married with 4 kids and works as a fireman after burning his place of work down 🔥
Who’s here 12 years later?
Me
Me 13🙄👍
17 years later - got a used item off the bay £55 - best fun I’ve had for ages
Who's that grunt barking behind the lens? The boy's master, presumably.
Carl Where can you buy industrial size quantities of paraffin these days
Meanwhile, the tarmac drive is ruined in the heating process.
DAM I GOT ONE OF THESE
Great tutorial, now I can burn my school books with style
Thank you so much , please I want buy like this machine so Can tell me where I can buy it

You need to make sure the speakers are plugged in too.
Will it burn through brambles?
Yes, works a treat, scorch them with it, leave a week to wilt sligtly then burn them off with it.
Is there a gopro kit available?
It'd be cool if there was. With the size of the top handle, I bet a bike handlebar mount would probably work!
How do you turn it off?
Turn the fuel valve off. It soon goes out then.

I think o need to do some maintenance on mine, it's no where near as ferocious as this one.
I think i just found my zombie apocalypse weapon.
I use one of these to make creme brulee
There is sound - turn your speakers on.
Probably cheaper to run than propane torches - certainly more heat But apart from the fact that paraffin is a hydrocarbon, is this "organic"?

I want one.
I got speakers on full blast and still I cannot hear anything
12 LONG years later......
Carl... 👀 .... Are you still here?
What the hell are you doing now?
theses for sale...... cuz i need one
yes, but youd would have to delay them with a cup of tea and biscuits while it warms up :)
Bloody dangerous thing
Old good X300!
Can you still get paraffin ?
Yes, we sell it and it is also available from most DIY stores etc.
Use only paraffin. Also prime the burner with meths, stops the burner getting messy.
Be easier to work with if it had the shoulder strap.
ok, I just replied to the other comment with the same answer :D
If you offer the burglar a cup of tea while you set it up and wait for the ROARING noise...
what you doing now carl lol
I hate the smell of burning grass and weeds
not likely.
Probably the corniest video on youtube lol, thanks for the demo though!

He has no idea normally prime it with some cardboard does the trick

@Mower Magic I’ve seen my dad use one of these with petrol before, is he lucky to be alive?
It was also nice to see that the operative wore no PPE. had he had an accident there would have been a claim there
No sound.....pitty.
