In a side chapter of Dragon Ball Super, it is explained how future Gohan escaped against the androids when he was a kid. This video also parallels another side chapter in dragon ball super where we found out that the cell juniors existed. In this chapter, we also find out what happened to the pilaf gang in the future timeline and how this all connects to Bulma. This is anime and manga related video by Qaaman that breaks down the differences between the History of Trunks, the dragon ball manga and the filler episode of Dragon Ball Z called Ghosts from Tomorrow.

In the Pilaf Gang’s defense, this timeline was weak. I doubt any of them would have survived past Buu’s awakening had Gohan and Bulma made the wish instead. Assuming they could survive their version of Cell

The fact that this was the true fate of the characters we grew to love (cell or trunks timeline, doesn’t) honestly just hurts. Future Gohan was always my favorite version of Gohan based on his portrayal in the special and the lore of his survival.
Man..DBZ was a year jerker smh I couldnt help but cry when gohan died.. his timeline felt so hopeless! It was so sad! I actually felt bad for broly also! I understood why he hurt so much and had so much agression! I cried a few other times but I dont remember when lol😂 actually crying right now as I write this just thinking about future gohan
this is why the future arc is so good. Losing genuinely played out. For once, the dragon balls or something other trick couldn't fix literally everything. So when we usually watch this DBS arcs, if a character dies or so, we all know that they're going to come back for sure, one way or another.

IMO Trunks is the biggest failure. Writing wise . Not because his personality. The purple and blue hair doesn't help him. Trunks shouldn't exist. There is no way Vegtea would of went with Bulma. Cant say if Buma would of went for Vegta though because personality his all over the place. Her dating a guy that was going to destroy the earth. Was going say he kidnapped her friend's son but that was Raddits. Vegtea was going kill Gohan and Krillion on Nemek.
Trunks being Vegtea's son there going be some preconceptions about his power. But obviously Bulma his mum is not a fighter what so ever.
It's crazy to see what Gohan, Vegta and Goku went through. Then you have Trunks has like these magically powers. That wiped out Freezer and his father.
IMO I think it would of been much better if Trunks any maybe give him a name change ,was some random Saiyan. Some mystery person that came and saved them. So it's not as easy to guess his power or know what he's capable of. And they can always explain or not how he got so much power or crazy techniques.
Not just the real Trunks turning Super Sayin because he saw Gohan die. To add to that he was crying just before turn super for the first time to.
That says it all about Trunks he cried his way to Super Sayin.
It’s even more sad that Future Gohan canonically doesn’t exist anymore, along with all the Future Z-Fighters that died. Since Trunks’ original timeline got erased, so did everybody on it. Which included all those who gave their lives for Trunks and Mai.
A big inconsistency within the future trunks special is that Yajirobe was killed, but if you read or watched dbs you would know he is still alive in the future timeline.

This manga doesn't really contradict the events from the history of trunks. Seems like all those events from both could still have happened and are just different parts of the same fight. Especially the part of vegeta being a super saiyan
it contradicts Trunks initial struggle to obtain SSJ, originally in the manga he’s already shown to have the transformation before Gohans death.

Piccolo dying shouldn't have made the dragon balls turn to stone - and he wouldn't have lost to the androids if they all teamed up like they were shown to have done.

You know, looking back. This could actually help add some depth for Mai in the Trunks arc. She helped Pilaf, the last person to make a wish on Shenron before the dragon balls stopped working. Maybe she feels guilty having that last wish be used to do something so trivial compared to the suffering she would see around her.

@@eslwgpg1226 I mean when Pilaf says GOGO as a baby there is a panel saying "we are to young now!" which kinda implies that they just became extremely young but still kept their memories, since Pilaf were thinking like he didnt age at all.
It’s amazing how much in universe logic Toriyama had to sacrifice to make Future Trunks timeline work. Every time a discussion about it comes up I’m reminded how little detail was in it

@@dominiquerobinson8888 It's not really a 'contrived' virus I'd say, that's a very debatable way of defining the virus, unless you'd consider all viruses ever to be contrived, because that is sort of how most viruses occur, they just happen and it almost looks like they come out of nowhere

I want this story more than anything. How did Gohan turn into a Super Saiyan as a kid without Goku or how did he last so long until his 20s. The angst of it all...I wonder if 17 and 18 had dark bond with Gohan, toying with him and saying come back when you're stronger and can give us a fun time fighting 🔥

How was he so damn weak after 14 years of training but 3 years with Goku + Piccolo and 1 year with Goku and he was stronger than super perfect cell? Really it makes no sense because Gohan had more incentive to train harder in future trunks' timeline. And these andriods are weaker than the main timelines andriods.
@@vianjelos It's because he had no one to train with, other than Trunks, who was just a kid. He could've trained with King Kai but King Kai wouldn't be able to help him bring up his power enough to beat the Androids
@@vianjelos Probably Zenkai help Gohan catch up to stronger characters. If u think about it, it's always more or less catch to strongest opponent, and if case of Vegeta, who gain strength similiar to Dodoria, he beat him easily because he is superior fighter with better techniques. It's most logical explanation, and it's in par with DBS storyline, when raw power isn't enough to beat someone.
It makes me so sad that Future Gohan and Bulma were SO close to fixing everything

Their was no way for any of their revival their for, to have connection with the living world would be wrong because there was literally nothing they could do, except maybe ask king kai to give bulma the coordinates to reach New Planet Namek so she can use their dragon balls
They also probably could had quickly gathered the dragon balls to wish goku back to full health or for a damn heart virus cure or something before the andriods even showed up
@@michaelp9413 Goku had died twice + had died of natural causes so he wouldnt be able to come back. Most of teh Z fighters had died twice so they wouldn't be able to revive them either. And since only goku could get to new namek at that time it would be impossible to get any new dragon balls. And also pilaf doomed an entire timeline lol
@@itzasup5005 did you even read what I said? I stated for them to wish goku back to full health before he actually died, like how gohan wished to restore pan's health when she was sick. King kai knows the location of every planet which he could had gave information to Bulma who could had created a space ship to reach new planet namek. Also the namek dragon balls can restore those who already died before which is how everyone was revived after buu killed everyone and blew up the planet
All they could have done when it comes to a wish it's basically make Piccolo immortal that way he won't die in the Dragon Balls will stay active

His only option would’ve been a wish to send himself and Bulma/baby trunks to New namek and make wishes there. Also Vegeta definitely had super saiyan, in “history of trunks” and in Z when Trunks has his flashback and it shows the characters all die, it shows Vegeta in SS

In theory they gohan could have gone with the idea vegita kept ranting about in the freeza saga wish for immortality and keep fighting until you get strong enough beat them. I mean vegita yelled at him constantly about it during the arc

gohan could have also maybe used the time chamber to train. sure popo would be alive and i dont think the androids ever found the lookout in that timeline.

to give them a better fighting chances vs androids.
which toriyama conviently leaves out. lol. it makes for a more impactful tear jerker story. which this arc was.

I always kinda assumed Gohan just didn't fight. And while the depiction of events varries somewhat in each iteration, I figured that since nobody anticipated the androids and they couldn't be sensed, the fighters' response to them was disorganised, leading them to get taken down one by one. And we know they were defeated one after the other. I never assumed that Gohan could have survived such a fight against them, and therefore I thought he was prevented from participating.
In the manga it says Gohan barely escapes implying he was fighting to.

I would guess that if one of them was fighting, the others would have sensed it and rushed to the scene, even if they couldn’t sensed who or what they were fighting.
There's a fanfiction that came out a while back that shows how Gohan had escaped. It was before this side story was made official & it was pretty good how it led up to the battle that wiped out Earth's best defenders. It actually starts with Goku using Instant Transmission to get to Earth on time to defeat Frieza & King Cold. It also shows Goku (still) struggling to control the Super Saiyan, as well as leading the reader towards Goku getting the heart disease and passing. It's pretty bleak but that timeline was always in that state other than the brief reprieves they got after Trunks came back and beat all 3 of Gero's monsters and then prevented Buu from hatching.

Note: The only reason Vegeta ever pursued the Super Saiyan form was because of Trunks's warning. Everyone was training for the Androids in the main timeline. Since Goku dies 2.5 years after landing on Earth, Vegeta would've stopped training entirely. Goku was the reason he decided to change his ways and actually started training since he couldn't stand not being the strongest anymore. In the Future timeline, he's just dead.

It would make sense for Gohan to escape because he had the most potential for him the z fighters would try to make sure he survived
I understand how new Namek wasn't thought about in the original writing, but Trunks learns of New Namek when he watches Goku leave to go find it real quick. Why didn't he even think to try when he got back to find it?! Or when he meets the supreme Kai in his timeline, why didn't he take new Namek in consideration? By then, it was established that their dragon balls were buffed, so it would've been pretty useful

the other difference i noticed from the trunks special was that originally Yajirobe seems to be killed which as we know he ends up appearing in the black saga

Not for long
When I first watched the android saga on Toonami back in elementary I always figured Vegeta possibly couldn't have been a Super Saiyan in that timeline. Witnessing 2 Super Saiyans go at it right in front of his eyes gave him the motivation to push himself to attain it. Not to mention he had no knowledge of Trunks being his son.
"Ghost of the past" confirmed he was but it was basically a knock off of the History of Trunks movie. And I always had faith in a Super Saiyan Vegeta. He knew he could go even further in terms of strength and power.🤔
Gohan might have unlocked super saiyan after goku died to the heart virus. In other words vegeta Still saw 2 super Saiyans to push him to achieve his own power up.
@@geovanialvarez7744 I like that theory🤔. I still believe death and hopelessness was Gohan's ultimate trigger. Especially after losing Piccolo. But the time between Goku's death and the androids attack would give Vegeta a little time to become a Super Saiyan if he had to witness Gohan unlock it.
I kinda want them to showcase or animate or show and explain how future gohan became super saiyan, given how good future trunk's ssj transformation was in the tv special, gohan's would be so good.

Makes me wonder how they even tracked down all the warriors. Since they could not track power levels or anything. Seems like they would get tipped off as soon as the first fighter got killed off.
They didn't. All versions suggest they caused havoc and Earth's forces went towards them

@@mattroxursoul They all died at the near exact time. Just because it was presented in a way that one by one they fell doesn't mean they weren't fighting at random intervals. All versions suggested they deliberately combated the androids first and sought them out, as in the main timeline. The androids didn't hunt the z fighters first.

The Android would overwhelm and kill most of them without a fight going long enough for others to show up. Well I suppose the androids could try to drag out a fight

I think it makes sense for Vegeta not to be a Super Saiyan in this timeline. He didn't train to fight
against the androids because he didn't even know about their existence, and Goku is dead. So I don't see any reason for him to have the Super Saiyan form in the future timeline.
Then explain the history of Trunks and the Ghosts from tomorrow filler episode
@@QaamansLand Well, the anime is sometimes very inconsistent with its own story. An example is that Yajirobe is shown being killed by the androids, but in the Black Saga of the anime he was still alive. In the manga version of History of Trunks, if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't show the Z warriors being killed by the androids. It's an scene exclusive from the anime. So maybe Toyotaro or Toriyama doesn't consider this scene from the special canon. And made their own canon, just like with Bardock.

Vegeta could've been training because of Goku's existence because at the time, he wanted to find out how Goku achieved super Saiyan and fight Goku one day. . Now he probably didn't train at the extent of his past self but Vegeta was probably doing some training. In addition, Super Saiyan wasn't achieved because of training. The death of Goku could've had an impact on him which would allow Vegeta to achieve super Saiyan.

Vegeta would likely train his ass off to become a super saiyan whether Goku died or not. Hell it's likely he became a super saiyan before he died at all.
As a kid, i believed that the androids chose not to kill gohan as hes a kid, so they just roughed him up a bit (because fuck dem kids) and told him to get lost.
Krillin wouldve gotten away with it too but they checked his ID and saw his age, then whooped his ass with extra pizzaz for thinking he could duck the fade😭
And basically allowed him to live for years for their amusement? That's dark
3:42 it would make more sense for Vegeta to not know the Super Saiyan transformation in the future timeline considering that even in the main timeline Vegeta didn't become a super Saiyan for a lot of time before the androids showed up. In the future timeline, Goku dies, he isn't warned or aware of the androids in the future timeline so he has very little motivation to work as hard as he did in the main timeline outside of ego alone.
I feel like another reason could be that Vegeta also lost his will to really fight and train like he did when Goku sacrificed himself in the cell saga. We saw how it affected him when Goku died and even though he still did do some training between the cell and Buu arc he never really had the same character development and experience he did in the future timeline.
but if he knew goku fought and defeated freeza as super saiyan. i think that would give him motivation. this is vegeta and saiyan pride here. its just one those dbs inconsistencies. doesnt really matter tho since vegeta died either way.

Goku died only 1 year before the Androids arrived so Vegeta had still 2 years to train himself with motivation.

I think piccolo of the future should've been a little smarter. If he knew he stood no chance he should've escaped also knowing he was the only chance to keep the androids alive. Plus why he didn't fuse with kami ??
Most likely he wasn’t given the chance to do either of those things. The androids probably killed him without allowing him any chance to flee and therefor he also wouldn’t have had a chance to fuse with Kami
Well, if we are only doing the special "history of trunks", then the Z warriors didn't get the chance to flee or they got killed trying to distract the androids so they won't catch up to gohan
If we are counting the filler episode, then they were able to flee, but got killed for it
He didn’t have enough time and he couldn’t sense their power level. All he knew was that there was an unknown force attacking a city. The fight didn’t last long enough for Piccolo to know that he had no chance at all. The Androids one shotted everyone.
Or maybe that was going to be the wish for piccolo to teleport to komis look out and fused with him but the wish failed
You do realize the androids randomly popped up and destroyed earth right? Piccolo and the other Z fighters, sans vegeta, because he was still an evil prick at this point, were likely more concerned with evacuating and protecting the citizens. Remember, they didn't even have another version of trunks to come warn them of the threat. There were no threats anyway so they settled down when goku kicked the bucket of the virus. It was just a series of bad coincidences. You could just say Vegeta trained and achieved SSJ but didn't have the incentive as his main timeline counterpart because goku was dead.
Piccolo didn't have the power boost he had in the android saga even pre kami fusion by training with goku who could already turn ssj and gohan. He likely only meditated during after goku's death and before the androids attacked.
Remember in the Buu saga, how King Yemma send afterlife Vegeta with Baba to help stop Buu? I mean I'm sure in Future Trunks timeline the amount people dying at high rates and going to King Yemma should bring up the idea that something is wrong on Earth.
Now you can think of many possible scenarios, one could be letting Goku going back to earth to guide Gohan and Trunks.
You are right about the possibility to make someone dead back to Earth, but I don't think a day is enough to make a difference. Maybe if Goku had trained all his time in the afterlife, he could have killed the androids.
The best option would have been for Gohan to ask Shenron to wish / teleport the Androids to a distant planet. But Goku did resist getting teleported to Earth with the Namek dragonballs during the end of Frieza Saga. So it’s possible the Androids Will could have resisted being teleported. But it’s still a gamble worth taking. Whether the androids can breathe in space and some how find their way back to earth, this would still give the z fighters enough time to train in the time chamber.
It's very simple why none of them did this Akira Toriyama wanted basically a apocalyptic future like The Terminator franchise so he chose to forget everything that would allow them to prevent this from happening
I also think he was kinda done mentally with the franchise too so he wanted to end it. I always saw it as a metaphor of his fatigue with it. Making Goku and everyone else die kinda proves it. Then his editors and fans kept pushing him to make more and more. That's why the Buu Saga is clunky. Dude was just over Dragonball lol
@@markhester6556 I mean, the series was meant to end at the frieza saga, then the cell saga. Ironically, he said that gohan wasn't suited to the MC role and returned it back to goku and said in interviews that he wanted the series to end at buu saga as intended

This just shows how much Gohan needed Goku people can say he’s a bad father but is he? I always felt like Goku pushed Gohan to the max and knew his potential which Gohan needed .Sure he has a great mentor in Picollo but I feel like only sayians can push each other to be better. Just like how Trunks had to go back in time to spend time with other Sayians.

@@QaamansLand Goku isn't even a bad father at all. He literally risked his life twice for his son, supported his goals and dreams, and realized his mistake in trying to give cell a senzu bean but that was because he actually believed in gohan's strength
I just realised Yajirode died in one of these clips from the filler episodes, which means it's a different version of the future than the one we see in Super since Yajirobe is alive in Super

@Qaaman btw you make a great point. It never made sense that Goku, King Kai, Piccolo, or no one else would try to contact Future Gohan, Trunks, or even Bulma from the afterlife to inform them how they could defeat the Androids.
Always just came off as a plothole to me.

It just never really made sense but then again.... after Goku asked for the Z fighters not to wish him back, he didn't really contact them until 7 years later. When he was about to visit for a day.
I wanna say maybe he's respecting the laws of the afterlife, or maybe King Kai is enforcing the rules on Goku, but then again he did warn Goku about Freeza. He also came up with a plan, with Goku, to wish everyone except Goku and Freeza off Namek.

I think the biggest hole in Future Trunks/Gohan timeline is that Future Trunks could have went to New Namek to wish back everyone killed by the Androids & Goku because the power of those Dragonballs
Not Goku once they die of natural causes none of the dragon balls can revive them except the super dragon balls but those are way harder to gather
King Kai didn't assist because the Androids were local threats and he only gets involved with galaxy-wide threats.
And none of the Z-Fighters kept their bodies because they didn't get special permission to do so, having died fighting local threats.
The Future timeline really does have a lot of plot holes in both Z and Super

I think the best wish in that moment is to wish for piccolo to be immortal. If he's immortal, so is kami, therefore eternal dragon balls. Buys time and piccolo could keep training. Could wait a year to wish for piccolo to awaken his potential if the androids are still alive. Revive humanity a year later or take a ship to namek.
The special and filler makes more sense as the artifical humans (android 18/17) killed them one by one , they dont emit ki and there is no reason why the "whole gang" needs to be there in the first place.
They dont stick around to be begin with , after Goku's death they all go their ways like they ALWAYS do , some are further some are closer to the incident but all of time takes time and unlike the story we know , the z gang /senshi have no idea what they are fighting or why they cant sense them .

Future Gohan as a teenager were no match for android 17 and 18,that why he escaped the battle and spend thirteen years training trunks in order to defeat the androids.
I always just assumed Gohan turned super saiyan right then and there when the androids were killing the Z fighters, and that because of his inner potential, he was a lot stronger than anyone else there and was able to hold off the androids until he bought some kind of time to make a diversion and escape once he realized that the androids weren’t running out of energy like he would have been. So, Gohan being smart could’ve thought to flee to fight another day before it got to where not even he could hold them off. And then that could have explained how Gohan was in constant battle with the androids and evenly matched with them all the way up until that incident with Trunks being there and Gohan losing his arm, at which point I’m pretty sure Gohan could no longer keep pace without that arm and then we see him get roasted and left dead in the rain…
Maybe Kami and King Kai weren't allowed to intervene because the Androids were born on Earth and weren't an external threat like Frieza, Buu or even Cell (who has Frieza's and King Cold's cells). So they couldn't get help from outsiders (Namekians).

@@Xuhaz Piccolo fusing with Kami was an Earth thing. And the reason they did it was Cell (technically an external threat) not the Androids. As far as I know King Kai or even Kami never intervened in any internal danger. The only time Kami intervened was when he fought Piccolo in the tournament because it was his own fault to begin with.

The amount of solutions to the Future Androids is so unreal its crazy. They honestly should have written in at least something that makes some sort of vague amount of sense, maybe something like due to the sheer amount of death being caused by the Androids that King Kai and Yemma can't really partake in any afterlife/living world shenanigans since Other World is undergoing too much chaos so they can't really help the living world. A creative one would be some sort of spin off Future Arc where all the dead future characters had to deal with some Other World threat that is so bad they have to focus on it instead of their own home. Anyway, most things you can think of easily fix the Future Android crisis. Goku doesn't even need to be transported into the real world to use Instant Transmission, he can just have King Kai talk to the Namekians or have one of the other King Kais talk to them if there is a galaxy quadrant issue. Ignoring the wish to just manifest an android shut down button (which honestly I doubt they would know about anyways), one wish to revive Piccolo and Kami, another to revive Future Korrin for Senzu Beans (let's hope he can grow them somewhere other than the Lookout), and the third to transport Dende to Earth to fix the Dragon Balls when Kami and Piccolo fuse. Also this is under the assumption that the dead Z Fighters start making wishes soon after they were killed, if they actually just wait until Gohan and Trunks reach the age we later see them in then honestly most of the Z Fighters should have enough training under their belt since it around 12-13 years would have passed. Even if Vegeta never reaches Super Saiyan 2 due to being unaware of its existence, he should AT LEAST obtained Super Saiyan Grade 2 or even 4. Piccolo without even fusing with Kami would be enough with that amount of training. So many more scenarios where they could win with the help of New Namek that honestly don't even need to involve reviving dead characters.

I think the biggest inconsistency is the Piccolo being the guardian. This means the dragon balls shouldn't have turned to stone - and if the Androids were weaker in Trunks timeline like he said, then a fused Piccolo should have been able to beat at least one of the androids (especially if they were in a group like in that manga panel)
I don’t think Piccolo was the guardian it was Kami. And if Piccolo died Kami would have died as well which would render the dragon balls useless.
piccolo would have also been weaker though, no extra 3 years of training, probably wouldve gone the same way it did in the present timeline
and as we know piccolo could only take on 1 android at a time, so 2 androids wouldve gone the same way it did for gohan, could handle 1 but not 2
I think the future trunks timeline could be a timeline where goku beat raditz. Goku never met king kai which is why he never communicated with anyone. Nappa and vegeta found Yamcha, tien, chaotzu, separately and killed them. Goku was strong enough to beat nappa by going into the HTC. Except for the spirit bomb, the battle between Goku and vegeta was the same to the end with Gohans tail growing back. Piccolo survived and they wished everyone back. Vegeta came back to earth to challenge Goku and lost, then he realized that earth isn't too bad and stayed. He met bulma and had trunks. Goku contracted the virus on earth. The only thing that debunks this theory is trunks waiting for frieza. That's why everyone is so weak and the androids didn't know about super saiyan.
In the future timeline, Goku and his friends had the same lives they had in the main timeline we all know. Till the moment of the famous divergence where Goku after Namek events, back to Earth killed Frieza and his father. After 2 years he got sick and died, and the future timeline as we all know was screwerd up.

Honestly, I feel like a wish Gohan could have made was to teleport them into the vacuum of space or into a black hole, i doubt they’d survive that since saiyans can’t.

Also it's stated that the androids are a lot stronger than Trunk's timeline androids. While they're all stronger because they all have SSJ at their disposal, the base androids are also just stronger. So it'd actually be weird if vegeta had SSJ but still lost to those weaker androids.
Maybe they were "weaker" because they powered down because Gohan and Trunks ssj at that time were namek goku level

Piccolo didn't fuse with Kami because he simply didn't think about. Plus he didn't know the androids would be so strong so when the z fighters went after them, piccolo was caught by surprise

Simp God 21, he's probably means Roshi would teach Trunks and Gohan the Mafuba. So you have a 2 v 2 situation
These are all flaws that I’ve pointed out during my childhood. Minus the pilaf gang because this something that Super just made up.
It’s exhausting you say this timeline
I can see four scenarios where Goku does not get killed
the first scenario is when Nappa is being taken with Vegeta to the new Battlefield Krillin and Gohan follow them and Goku is able to get Gohan to focus on Nappa and Krillin is able to cut off nappa's tail
the second is a time patroller is sent to help Goku
in both scenarios Vegeta and Nappa get badly beaten and survive and Nappa get two Zenkai
The third scenario is Vegeta summons Nappa space-pod and sends him do the same Planet he goes to do get healed with his injuries he should become 2 to 6 times stronger depending on which power level you used considering that he supposedly had five different power levels in the manga and anime 4000 and 6000 and 7000 and 8000 and 9000
And the final scenario is Vegeta leads Nappa and Nappa joins Goku to Namek
Vegeta could've still being a super Saiyan. it doesn't contradict anything. We clearly see vegeta beaten. Don't they usually turn back to normal when they are beaten and tired. Also, they all could have been fighting together but got disposed of one after another. Assuming they came battling one after another would imply that both Krillin and Yajirobe did too, which is completely out of their character.
Some things to note about your criticisms around the 8 minute mark:
- The 1 day rule did exist in early Dragon Ball, but it should be noted that this is something that Baba has to do herself, and we're not informed of Baba's livelihood at the time, she could also be dead.
- While it's true that the Z-Fighters probably could have done something to help, it depends on one crucial detail, which is "did they keep their bodies?" The Z-Fighters originally only got to keep their bodies with special permissions granted via Yemma, but I don't think it's likely that the Z-Fighters would be allowed to keep their bodies straight away all a second time in this scenario, especially not Goku, who died of natural causes. They likely all went to Heaven instead, where their ability to help on Earth is incredibly limited.
- King Kai is not always looking at just Earth. He is watching over his entire quadrant of the Galaxy, which means it's likely he simply did not see what was happening until it was too late. This is all theory of course, but if King Kai was always looking at Earth, he would always know Goku is coming to visit his planet, or he would immediately have known Frieza was on Earth, both times he showed up. He simply didn't realise everyone was dying until it was too late to fix it, because none of them were given permission to run Snake Way to see him. They were all sent to heaven.
Also, what happened to the Look Out. Future Gohan is running low on senzu beans and Future Trunks doesn't know what is the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The Android arc is where DB writing started to fall off.
The Future Trunks timeline could've been saved in many ways, Toriyama just needed a new Saiyan and a tragic backstory.
Why? That would make it more of a mess if an OC saiyan was shoved haphazardly into the series and wouldn't even be believable if that saiyan somehow defeats the androids. Why would gohan and trunks also keep that saiyan alive when they know their alien race is full of planet hopping nuking assholes who deserved whatever fate they got?
Not sure if you made a video on this yet but something that I also want to know is why future Gohan didn't have some crazy power boost Knowing his friends died. I'm guessing he couldn't train consistently or something because he had so many years to improve himself.

Anyway I always figured the other Z-fighters probably defended Gohan to the end and that’s how survived for as long as he did. Maybe the androids didn’t want to directly kill a kid?
I'm guessing that they probably protected Gohan of course. But, I'm guessing after Piccolo or Krillin died, Gohan probably unlocked super saiyan. Trained it up, probably got stronger than Goku and Vegeta too. But just wasn't killed off til later because it kept the Androids entertained. It was their plaything essentially until they finally got bored of him.
I think Vegeta started at super saiyan against the androids, he lost his super saiyan form and then transformed again.
Or another alternative(less likely at this character progression for Vegeta).
He could have started at base against the androids and then turned super saiyan when he got damaged and realized that base form will not be enough to defeat them.

There’s two possible explanations on why Vegeta isnt Ssj in the one panel. One could be that given that this is the future timeline, and he didn’t train as intensively as present Vegeta did, he probably hasn’t fully mastered super saiyan. Thus making it harder for him to maintain. The second is it could be a coloring mistake. They make those all the time, at one point during the super hero movie when their talking about Mr satan during the cell games you can see teen Gohan with black hair despite him at the time always being in a super saiyan state.
I honestly think it was just a coloring mistake.
Or maybe they did got beat up one by one and they still weren’t killed just badly defeated and they all tried to come together to fight the androids
