I have the same rotary switch in a mid 1940s Triplett tube tester. That is one rare switch. And damn fragile. Never thought I'd see another one

There are amp techs that swear up and down that the brand or manufacturer of caps doesn't matter. They claim you can replace any foil cap with any foil cap and they sound basically the same.

Hey Art, if I send you a picture of this amp, I’m looking at to buy you could look at the board and see what’s original

Good video. I think I like the pre-phase inverter master volume better.

Will a broken dual pot cause bias issues especially with an el84 cathode biased amp? The ppimv doesnt tame the volume all the way down, upon measuring the input and wiper of the outer part of the dual pot, it doesnt go all the way down to almost zero ohms, unlike the upper part of the dual pot which goes to 2ohms.

I'm converting an origin 50 to a 1987 some time soon.. I've got a bunch of mustard caps I salvaged from a reel to reel.. I may use em.

The wiring is fine, it appears some effort went into twisting and tucking them away for noise cancellation.
