  • These practices are designed to help you learn and experience the way in which everything is connected. While this practice targets the shoulders, chest, neck and upper back body - continue to see the body as one moving part.
Research has proven that daily movement can be powerful medicine for anxiety and depression. We have the science to back up the myriad of benefits of mindful breath work, especially when practiced with consistency.
And, I have said it before but I will share again that strength training with less pain and more joy has provided me with a relationship with my body that I never ever thought possible.
Remember, this is a come as you are situation.
Get out of your head and into your body, let’s move!
I love hearing from you in the comments, thank you for sharing!

A yoga first: I did yoga outside today! ☀It's a cold sunny winter day here, so I put on 3 layers. But doing a cat-cow and feeling the sun in my face everytime I looked up was so worth it 💛

Adriene, you have helped me so much I really can't thank you enough! I was diagnosed with M.S. in 2020 and at the time I couldn't really walk and had trouble with my eyes. So to cut a long story short I found someone online who got out of her M.S. by sticking to these 4 things - drinking water, meditating, no sugar and doing yoga! Those 4 things have really worked and done wonders for me (especially yoga) so much so that my last 2 M.R.I. scans revealed some good news! Some of the lesions on my brain have improved and there's no new lesions on my spine! I've done that without any medication so no drug companies can take the credit which is pretty big! I really had no idea we could heal like this until I had to do yoga! Thanks again Adriene you are an angel and namaste to all! 🙏

I found myself frustrated with my five year old refusing to go to bed hours after bedtime and in my head I heard Adrienes voice saying “my breath is my anchor, my anchor is my breath” (which is WILD cause I never really connected with that mantra before??) I was able to take these incredible breaths and my daughter started breathing with me subconsciously and fell asleep. These tools help us ❤️

My 10 year old and I do a sleep meditation at night together.
In the last 3 years I have transformed as a parent, a person. My intentional living, towards peace and connection, balancing my nervous system...and hugely, emotional regulation (I had a lot of past trauma that left me in fight/flight/freeze...and had no idea that's what was driving my anxiety/impatience etc)
My regulation has been the most powerful parenting thing I have ever done. I wish I had known for my oldest (now almost 26), but we do the best we can with what we know.
It's beautiful you connected to your breath, and anchored to it. Powerful, life changing.
      May you be blessed 💫

Today I learned to give myself some grace. Had an absolutely crazy day, going non-stop for 12 hours straight and I just had no energy left. So I allowed myself to watch today's practice ... and the only thing I did was breathe and sit on the couch.
I wanted to share this just in case somebody else had a hard day and needs to hear that others are struggling, too.
Tomorrow will be better. We got this. ♥

First of all, thanks Adriene for these wonderful practices. I'm 72, I've gained a lot of weight and lost a lot of strength. Downward dog is NOT my favourite pose but I do them. The first day, I could only hold the pose for about 1 second; now after two weeks (or more) I find I can hold the pose for about 10 seconds, so I can feel my strength (and flexibility ) increasing each day. I guess it's good to step out of your comfort zone occasionally. Now, how to keep up the daily practice after January ends!

CENTER 𑁍 MOVE | January 18, 2023 | This practice was a treat for the upper back and shoulders, an area that always needs a little TLC for me. But even more so, it was such a great metaphor for life. When life causes you to wobble, or when you have to do something hard - can you recruit the core of you, the true you - to stabilize and center yourself? You can, it just takes a little practice! Just beautiful! 🙏

I'm fostering a puppy right now which has been very heart-filling but also extremely draining. I felt like I haven't had a moment of peace in a while. I carved out time for this practice and he started chewing everything in sight. I bribed him with a meat stick chew so that I could have these twenty minutes of peace. After this practice, I literally felt like I was able to surrender to what I can't control and take a deep breath. Here's to many more of those moments, and bribing dogs with meat sticks so that we can do yoga :)

Thank you Adriene! I took my toddler on a hike to a beautiful waterfall today, which was longer and harder than expected (so many steps!!). Such a lovely way to cool off on a hot day, but I ended up having to carry him part of the way back up the valley. For a long time I wouldn't have had the strength to do that (as someone only recently recovered from long term illness and fatigue), but I feel these two weeks of yoga have brought me so much strength already. It's been hard to do the practice each day as my body has a lot of rebuilding to do, but today felt like a triumph! My back was a little sore from the hike, but my spirit was strong! Love and blessings from the Blue Mountains of Australia 💛

For those wondering about the lack of ‘namaste’: though I can’t be sure that this is Adriene’s reasoning, many people in the South Asian/Hindu communities have expressed dismay & concern about the potential overuse, dilution, &/or appropriation of the sacred greeting ‘namaste.’ I encourage fellow asana lovers to explore perspectives from yoga’s community of origin! As a jumping-off point, Susanna Barkataki has some excellent & thought-provoking blog posts & videos.

I didn't skip when I had my period or when I pulled my shoulder last week, actually taking the yoga practice mindfully helped me keep it moving and strong and not get worse, AND I've enjoyed keeping going, and it feels even more amazing each day - shows me how far I've come, and I also believe this is your best series yet, what an amazing design that really understands the human, on a physical level, and also a mental, emotional and spiritual level. So much gratitude to you and your team Adriene, for helping me serve myself and therefore those around me too, much love
