  • In this video, join me as I restore a Vintage Case XX Fixed Blade Knife that holds a special significance - it belonged to a fellow Marine. Sent to me all the way from Michigan by his son-in-law Jeff, this knife holds a history that spans between 1965 and 1980.

    At a total length of 9 1/8 inches, this magnificent knife features a clip point blade, a stacked leather handle, a brass guard, and a nickel-plated pommel. With a 4-inch handle and a 5 1/8-inch blade, it showcases the incredible craftsmanship of its time.
    Throughout this restoration process, I will share step-by-step techniques to bring back the knife's former glory. We will carefully clean, polish, and remove any rust or imperfections, breathing new life into this Marine's legacy.

    In our teen years all us kids on the neighborhood wood grab our packs and campout down by the river in wa state we all would campare knives some had these case knives the rest were westerns all stacked leather handles beautiful job bud

    I've been waiting to come across a large or extra large stockman knife. Got a few modern knives with my opinel no.8 as the exception but I've been seriously considering carrying a big stockman to lighten my blade load. I carry multiple knives a day 😅

    Esee sheath's work well with Case knifes, I have an extremely old sheath Case knife that's just marked with the big CASE letters and no others, it didn't have a sheath after I cleaned it up. I took the old leather sheath from my Esee JG3 and molded it to fit the old knife..

    Try a leather specific conditioning oil for leather such as Obendauf Oil Conditioner

    I picked up a case like it during the summertime pay $25. For it have don't figured out how old says razor edge on blade and has a bone handle

    Scrub handle with saddle soap if it's leather.. then use mink oil on the leather its made for leather

    Your knife has Case USA, (unless I can’t see the dots in between) but the book shows Case U.S.A. Is there a difference in years? Made before 65?

    I have a Case XX Kodiak dated from 1965 to 1980 it was also sent to me by my father in-law. He told me that he was to old to use it and wanted me to have it. Can I please send it to you for restoration Sir?

    What type of steel is this cv?

      Chrome Vanadium. Stainless steel mixed with Carbon steel.

    2500-3000 sand paper with a little water that blade will look like a mirror.

    For the love of God, please wear nitrile, latex, or rubber gloves. I can only imagine your hands being dried & rough as sand paper.😂
