"How desperate do you think we are now?" It only meant one thing, a new project was started, different but better than the previous one; Cataphract 2.0
One of the best short sci/fi stories I've come across in more years than I want to count, in spite of the AI narration. I've come back to listen to it several times, and shared it to friends. It would have been so much better with a female narrating Elizabeth's voice.
That's because unless an author is listed, then the majority (not all) of them have been written by AI, usually ChatGPT. Giveaways are usually way too many plot holes, sections being repeated and many of the AI/TTS voiceover channels do this and they tend to be bone idol and not edit to the audio to remove the repeated sections. Some sections get repeated because they have asked ChatGPT to expand/give more detail in certain sections. I have found by reading many video comments that a lot of folks are not only getting pissed off with the voiceovers as many necessary inflections etc and not done by AI/TTS but the stories being written by AI too. They are either threatening to unsubscribe or have already done so. So unless these channels take note, they will not only lose subs but they could lose monetization as they will drop below the threshold for subscribers and total yearly watched hours. This is why I have started my own sci-fi narration channel and it will not be AI voices but the stories are written by actual authors too. This account is a horror/creepypasta narration channel. My new one is @InterstellarSciFiTales and the first few videos will be going live in the next few days.
@@CryptidsRoost The best channels are those that with permission grab HFY stories from Reddit written by humans. I have a stable of my own writing I was thinking of posting. Real writing is to this AI writing as chess is to checkers.
@@TheLunacyofOurTimes I totally agree. I have been narrating reddit-based creepypasta horror stories for the last 4 years now, and recently started a 2nd channel in this niche (@InterstellarSciFiTales) and I only narrate human-written stories. I generally don't use AI/TTS on my second channel, apart from maybe secondary characters and not always then. AI/TTS is okay but way too many words gets mispronounced, plus it can't tell a story, with real feeling and emotion, like a human can.
@@CryptidsRoost Sigh. I am half tempted to start putting up some of my own human written stories to be a small glimmer among so much garbage and copy pasted nonsense. Tell you what Cryptid. keep me in mind, I have many decades of actual writing and thinking behind my belt. They keep calling it AI. I just think of it as some of the embarrassing stuff I might have written when I was 8 years old.
For the first half of this story I was so confused. I was close to skipping out. But then, it just grabbed hold of me and by the end I was totally invested. This is definitely one of the best stories so far. Well done 👏 😊
Pre-Historic Man: Spear! Poke poke! Medieval Man: Smol spear, nock it in the bow, throw spear far. Modern Man: Even more smol spear, put them in the magazine, throw hundreds of tiny spears a minute. Future Man: Spear! IN SPACE! Poke poke!
@IceFiction404 Quick question, are cataphracts the equivalent of... Spartans (Halo series)... Superman... or the Battleship supersoldiers (Uber series).
What was the point of the story to show how grateful people can be? This is like being upset with American GIs, because they left a mess at Normandy after D-Day.
@@IceFiction404 Nothing to be sorry for! It's a good story. This is just one that I (me, personally) would prefer a human to read. Quite often, modern TTS voices are fine for short stories.
great story and no part or idea was repeated. (thank you for that, not a waste of my time) because your story was so well told i subscribed. but i will unsubscribe if you start to waste my time with repeated lines or ideas
I grew up with American Men. “Bikers” I would like to see American people as one people again, not a (fill in the blank) America American is One people One Country. How do we bring it back? @jasonhunter3429 lmfao, this was good? You must be illiterate? Any moron who is too lazy to narrate a story with their own voice shouldn't be posting content and getting paid. With that said, anyone who uses AI to write a story with no clear outline distinction shouldn't be posting anything on social media. The fact that this story repeats things multiple times should tell people how badly written this is. Shitty pronunciations, changing AI voices multiple times while in the middle of pronouncing or mispronouncing a single word. Yea, you're illiterate
This was written by a person on Reddit. I can't even take your opinion seriously just because you thought an AI wrote this therefore it is bad. What a terrible way to judge something

Finally. A reasonably coherent and good story. So much trash these days.
eh? it's pretty sci-fantasy

I love one liner endings like this. What an excellent story.
“The ones who run” is a really good one liner ending. Literally gave me chills

Great story ❤️ for the story and ❤️ for the narration
Somewhat reminds me of "Interview with a Vampire".
I love this story ❤ very good story
Shocked she was barefoot? Must have been the first time they met a white person from the south
Or an australian
This is good one ❤ i like it
Thank you
First 👌🏾
A very good story .
I like it .
Ok I really enjoyed this one !!!!
Please say that is something else by this author ?!?!?!
GOOD STORY
Jeez the author really put this out there 😂
Halo spartan program meets Gundam/ultraman
Evangelion program, the mech were biological
This is a good one
Thank you !

27:21 They feed him tubas? 😂
Is there a part 2?
Barefoot? That could only mean one thing...
Pregnant,😮😂😂😂

Yay commercials ever 4 minutes
I enjoyed that. A curiosity Question, was it written by a person or an AI(zero intelligence)? cheers.
This is the writer from reddit
Thank you. Cheers@@IceFiction404
It's an intense story, but it is ruined by the TTS. The lack of human inflection ruins it. The TTS used is pretty good, but not that good.
I'm sorry....

Okay, the story was good but the robo read is a mess. If you are going to use robo Reed, you have to use phonetics

Teach your AI to pronounce words FFS
Why do you call a simple text to speech program AI
Lost me from the onset. The human is described how a human would describe another human, not how an alien would.
Do you feel lucky, punk?
Do you?
....
210 mini commercials and two damn much confusion in the story
I liked the girl instantly lol.
God in space🙄
AI voice makes some pretty bad pronunciations.
great story, shitty AI
Why are you saying things like die-ed, happen-ed and other weird pronunciation? This doesn't sound like an AI.
My god, this story is a rambling mess
I don't think it's that bad but the reading has been better in other sources.
Geezus, my 5 year old daughter, can write a better sci-fi story than this garbage AI narrated blunder.
have her write it and post the link, this was pretty good, so look forward to it
