Even though you pass, you still need to practice and practice! To those who didn't make it, you just need to practice more! Never loose hope! Your job is very important!
What? No Newfoundlands? THAT is the breed MADE for water rescue. They are naturals at this,. It is a perfectly normal thing for a Newfoundland ... even without training ... to attempt pull people and other animals out of the water when they are under threat. The DW crew should have gone to Lago di Garda where they have professional life guard patrols that primarily use Newfoundlands because they are naturally best suited to water rescue. I am guessing these people are members of a yellow lab club. Yellow labs are terrific dogs, but if you want a dog who is a natural lifeguard, choose a Newfoundland. Greater strength, greater swimming power, the ability to hold their breath under water. We have seen this ourselves here in Italy with our Newfs many times.
I wonder if this works in real life? I guess it is very hard to reproduce the scenario of what happens when a person is really desperate about losing their life - untrained rescuers most often lose their life together with the drowning person because of the dynamics of the rescue when one person is fighting for their life. Trained human rescuers can prepare for this element and adjust their behavior but dogs are only acting on conditioned reflex...how do they do?
Drowning persons are often a danger to those trying to rescue them. In their panic, they push their rescuers under water. How does SICS train dogs to respond to this kind of behavior?
I was wondering about the very same. I guess it is very hard to reproduce the scenario of what happens when a person is really desperate about losing their life. Human rescuers can prepare for this element and adjust their behavior but dogs are only acting on conditioned reflex...how do they do?
The amount of time, resources and love spending on these dogs will be very less if replaced with asylum seekers. But humans never do good for other humans. We say but in reality we don't do.
wouldnt u be able to save 2 ppl with 1 human if the human just iono like run out with a life saver ring or u know those things lifeguards in Baywatch runs with? like there are also emergency inflation vests like u got in airplanes or even one swimmer dragging behind another lifejacket or something.
It is a great feeling to be surrounded by animals, they are.the best friends.

Please upload Iraq Destruction of a nation again I don't know what happened but it disappeared from your channel
We always exploit animals
It's in these dogs nature to swim and rescue things. By denying them that behavior you are actually harming them by keeping them in a house.
