Thank you everyone for your continued support and for watching!!
When a listing has value not only does the algorithm work in your favor it results in a quick sale. If a resellers thought of something selling fast was because it was priced too low what does it mean when items don't sell or don't sell fast. I feel people can answer that question themselves.
How do I feel when something sells fast? A bit disappointed at first. Then I remind myself that I got my asking price and made a profit. Then I don’t look back.
Good plan!
The US Government pencils just took me WAY BACK! My dad was career Air Force. He worked in accounting and we had those pencils everywhere. My parents are the type who don’t get rid of much and there are always a couple of drawers full of pens and pencils. I’ll need to take a look the next time I’m at their house to see if any are just collecting dust, though I bet Dad is still using them all these years later (he’s now 76).
Awesome! So fun how vintage just brings us back!!
That’s “my” mountain. I would have bought it!
Love it!
Agree with commenter below that your mug went to someone that perhaps had a key word alert and bought it as soon as you posted it - at a price I thought was great!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
i love the underware sales i need to be on the look out
So fun and unexpected!
I sold a 70s bra top for $100 and it sold in a few hours. I kinda had regrets but the comps didn't support a higher price. it was priced at $125 and I was running a sale.
Makes you stop and think though, right? lol. Sounds like a good sale to me!!
Thanks Shannon. I’m getting a lot of returns. I only had about 6 all of last year. I’ve had 4 since the beginning of this year!
oh yikes! Maybe people's credit card bills are hitting them...lol..Ours always seem to come in waves! Are they all different categories?
@ yes and mostly just because they didn’t like it or changed their mind. One claimed a missing part from a sealed item.
EBay has been awfully slow for me.. I would look at it -- it's gone I got some money.. I can start listing some of my back logs I'm older I have a rather large house I would like to empty - stay under my thousand listings... sort of thinking about doing some whatnot - custom jewelry - older vintage stuff... I can also use the whatnot page to post Buy It Now more expensive non costume pieces..Laxvespa--LosAngeles
Those copper pulls are still in my kitchen! 😳 😂
That’s why people still need them!!
I love Ken Edwards! I sold 2 plates on Etsy recently also
Me too! I had a great haul a couple years ago and dream of another one 😂😂
My guess is someone has been waiting for a mt hood shaving mug.
👍🏻👍🏻
Great sales!
Thanks!
My feeling on fast sales is 'Did I make money on it?' If the answer is yes, than hooray for that. I do have a small accumulation of items I am so unsure about that I will not list until I figure out how to get them appraised or authenticated; those are daunting. Sales are slow-ish, but I have been listing lower dollar items and not hitting my quantity goals, so that's on me.
I think mostly what made me pause was that I knew I hadn’t paid enough attention. But I’m okay with it now 😂 I have a few things like that too…that I’m holding onto until I know more
Sometimes I think the fat sales are the one buyer watching for an item to be listed for whatever their arbitrary acceptable price would be… you may have just had it priced perfectly for this particular buyer. Other times, yes, you have a rare item for which a higher price, even with flaws, could have been commanded. In that case, oh well, at least it’s off your books. Certain sellers have a flip it quick mentality versus getting the top dollar. Both styles work. It would be interesting to run an experiment… run one category at the top of the price range, another at the low-mid, etc., and see after 3 months Elat brought in the higher NET sales.
That would be an interesting experiment! I wanna think this was a shaving mug collector who just hadn't seen one like this and had alerts set up. Or a Mt Hood collector...you never know!
I agree about the possibility that this was a buyer looking for that particular item. I have a number of saved searches on eBay and when I get an email letting me know that an item has come up, provided the price is right, I will jump on it.
Nice!
I'm happy for a fast sale, and rarely second guess if I priced too low. Sometimes I price high if I'm unsure, and will lower if item doesn't move. I've seen two resellers with youtube channels cancel sales when they've sold an item quickly and realized they didn't research properly. That is unimaginable to me!!!!!!! I lost all respect for them, and never watched their content again. Sellers like that give all of us resellers a bad name.
Ooh yikes. Nope, you gotta own up.
Always check the internet images first if there is no comp and always start out high first. You can always lower the price later one it marinates for awhile. If you screw up then it's a learning experience and move on.
Yup. That’s what threw me off was knowing I had listed while distracted and hadn’t taken the steps I normally do.
How do you know how long an item has been listed?
Your own items? Or listings in general?
