Going with "This night is not about me" may have started that way... It teaches me that where there's a celebration event, it's nice to know that Jesus was 'invited' and there was praise of Hosanna to the Highest. The betrothed were blessed by the Messiah at a party... At a 50th birthday party among believers and unbelievers alike, I was asked to bless the food. So I did with "Blessed are You, LORD our God King of the universe..." It's actually the very first time I prayed like that... It's The Chosen's influence 😅🎉❤
I can imagine Jesus saying "this is about you, not me." All powerful God, came to earth, born of humble circumstances, teaching humility to others as he models humility, defeating the powers and principalities with humility. He certainly is worthy of all praise and honor, glory and power. Every knee will bow and tongue confess that he is Lord, that his is the name above all names Yet, he doesn't demand that we worship, instead he invites. And he honors people of faith, the women who touched the hem of his garment, the centurion. He doesn't stop to exault himself in those situations, though he certainly could. Instead he says, this moment is for you, let me honor your faith.
So wonderful and Amazing this scenes for all of us,if we can see what happened when the young boy shouting Hosanna, Hosanna, and the woman asked Jesus to bless them, they knew that the spirit of the Lord is there,if we are like them, that they trust and believe God even they cannot see personally, but they trust who is He and what He thus, then all the angels in heaven glorify God,For those accepted God as their own personal Lord and Savior, Hallelujah!❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉Praise God.
How sober and poetic to imagine - the Lord being reminded of the eternal wedding to come thru this instance, a moment of comfort just before the ordeal he has to undergo in order to redeem His bride. Very artistic.
I love this scene, it reminded me of The blessing he was going to give Thomas and Ramah, but was stopped short. To me even the bride asking for blessing was reminiscent of Ramah asking Jesus for him to stand in as her Father. And now Jesus' heavenly Father brings a fulfillment of a marriage blessing for his son to give, knowing he couldn't do that for Thomas and Ramah though he wanted too. I also love that it's a child who first recognized him and shouted praises. This makes me think of the marriage supper of the lamb. Him saying it's not about me...he became a servant though he was the Son of God. I hope to put others before myself like he did so often. Although I get what you mean about every day is about him, even when he's making it about dying for us. 😢❤❤😢
I think the writer in this part of the story was showing Jesus humility when he said this night or this moment wasn't about him even though the night might be.
This is a beautiful scene. Jesus just wanting to celebrate and relax with everyone. I know it's most likely not biblical, but I'm jealous of the couple getting a blessing from God himself
The song and prayer are very Jewish. Our Shabbat prayers begin each week with “blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the Universe….” The show is becoming so much more culturally Jewish which i just love. I appreciated the humility of Jesus in this scene. He lets them invite Him to reveal more about Himself. Beautiful writing and even more beautiful acting on Jonathan’s part. The child, the couple, and the includer did such great work too!
Brandon, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this new Chosen scene!! Tried hard to stay awake during last night’s livestream, but this nasty cold hits me pretty hard!!🤧🤧🤧. The conversation between Dallas and Dr Jordan Peterson was very interesting!! I pray that Dr Peterson’s heart turns fully to God & Jesus!! The next few seasons of the Chosen are going to be intense- I’m sure!! I’m looking forward to hearing what you think about the next season and the episodes!! I hope you and Vanessa are feeling better!! Sending you both lots of love and prayers for a blessed and joyful New Year!!🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍🎉🎉🎉
Regarding the song the apostles sing in Lazarus’s house, I was hoping the season four soundtrack would have it, but it doesn’t. Bummer. I love that tune! I’ll just have to rewatch all the episodes again 😉
Glory!!! After so much struggles i now own a new house with an influx of $115,000 every month God has kept to his words, my family is happy again everything is finally falling into place. God bless America.
It's ok for Jesus to say this night isn't about him. Jesus did say to become the lowest and humility is this. Right after, he gives all credit to the father and takes none for himself
Thank you, Brandon; your commentaries are excellent! I do have one argument with Dallas, which is: Jesus would absolutely _not_ have said "Paschal"-- a Catholic word, since Catholicism was invented/created about 300 years later. I resent Dallas' "political" head nods to Catholicism.
I love how the child calls out his recognition of Jesus as the son of David also. But I couldn't help but draw a parallel to the Superman effect when he takes off his glasses. How do glasses truly disguise Clark Kent from Superman? How does a hood disguise Jesus?
Jesus would most definitely say, “Tonight is not about me,” because He is the example of humility. Our Westernized Christianity makes us force narratives that aren’t there. We are to ego-centric, and this was a perfect line to portray that message. Yes, we know that Jesus, the Christ, in all of His power and divinity, is fully God and fully man, but just like season 1, the wedding was not about Him. It’s a good scene.
Jews often pick the 3rd day of creation for the wedding ceremony, which would be Tuesday, because their marriage would be especially blessed. So this possibly could have been Monday night which would be the beginning of Tuesday in their time frame
The same song is in Season 1 Episode 5, I think. I believe it is referred to as the Dance of Miriam. Also, I think the groom is the same actor--could that be? Also, the man standing behind and to the left of the groom at 5:30--that looks like Chuza or Herod, or someone that was in the scenes with them in Season 4. He's also seen at 5:49 and 8:49. What do you think, Brandon?
I think the 'night' might be theology... Referencing what is to come. Not about him would be there's a night 'time' which is about his death and resurrection. Same way he'd say 'that day' 'my time' etc
Hi Brandon, yes He would have said that it was not about Him. That is not why He came or how He conducted Himself while still here. He didn’t step into every situation taking all the attention. Think the wedding at Cana. It was Mary who asked Him to step outside of being an invited guest. To say that He would expect the wedding feast to be all about Him, when He stepped into the situation by accident, reminds of those who believe that no one died around Him. He’d step into Shiva for a friend or relative, and the corpse would raise and Shive was over. I think we have to remember that He experienced this earth as fully God and fully man. My guess is the fully man part need to go out and walk incognito. He had already entered the city as divine. He already knew how to make it about Him. He had enough time coming that would be all about him.
Hello and blessings, Snipe. A technical question…which software do you use to do this double- screens vids? A have a small Spanish speaking channel in the Dominican Republic and cover The Chosen, and this would help me a lot. Blessings!! Píndaro
I was actually so sad at first to see the joyous celebration at Lazarus's home wanting things to be different and Jesus not to suffer so horribly or any of the disciples. But I began to think about every day and night since their reunification they experience pure joy for all eternity, together in a place where there are no goodbyes only hellos.
I didn't notice it the first few times I saw this scene. But now I am wondering if it is a cultural mistake at 5:32 and after it, many of the men take off their hats when they kneel. At least in modern Judaism men wear kippahs as a sign of respect, I'm not sure what the cultural etiquette would've been then.
I think it is a more modern thing added in. But the men back then wouldn’t have worn head covering at least not for religious reasons. That wasn’t implemented until much later.
Yeah, you're right that rules expecting you to cover your head weren't made until later, but they did come as a later generation of this culture, not just Jewish but the Middle East in general. I think the priests had their heads covered when they worked in the temple, many of the Pharisees rules were making the average person live their life more like a priest. I guess I'm just saying if it isn't seen as impolite for these men to have their heads covered while they are dancing, why would they uncover them as a sign of respect?

Jonathan has the most exquisite smile...you can almost feel the warmth and joy..it makes his portrayal so much more real
That little boy shouting Hosanna, stole the scene for me.
This is such a beautiful scene. An unguarded Jesus moment.
This is an excellent scene. Imagine the messiah blessing your marriage. The thought of it is just incredible…
I’ve seen this scene dozens of times . Love it . Thanks for the captioning - it’s a must for the Chosen

The song they are dancing to sounds familiar to the one from the wedding at Canna and Andrew’s 4 left feet😂

This has got be the best show in years. ❤ 🇬🇧

I think He would have said that because He only thinks of others not Himself!! Most thoughtful and unselfish person in the world!!😊 Thank you Lord!!❤😊

I love to see Jesus dancing in the group celebration of Passover, very very heart warming.
Love this scene. I don’t agree that Jesus wouldn’t have said it’s not about me. I think it exactly what he would say. As for the bows wonderful!

I get it too, every day and night is about Jesus
Yes, Ephraim and Manasseh were the sons of Joseph (11th son of Jacob).
The wife did “check in” with her husband before she spoke. But I am glad we see the chosen showing Jesus elevation of women throughout the show.
And to think what follows 😢
How many of the people at this wedding cried 'Crucify Him' a few days later 💔
I agree at 7:23 - I would have had Him say something like let's keep the celebration going... along those lines. 🤷♀️
❤ love these scenes and your thoughts
Thank you, Brandon, for sharing your thoughts. I really like this scene. ❤ Aloha to Vanessa from Hawaii ❤🕊🤗🌹Shalom Shalom 🕊 🔥
Thank you , Brandon and Vanessa ; great work both of you! Blessoand prayers for what will come to pass in the New Year!🙏☦️🌹🇺🇸🌹✡️
That's the same song they also used at the wedding in Cana.

You know we loved this

My husband and I were married on Easter Sunday 1984 😀
A beautiful scene
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you for the translation, I wondered what Jesus said. Most are defined and/ or converted to English. Maybe done earlier in the show.
My favorite scene so far Thank uou !!!💜✝️✝️✝️💜. Jan
Thanx for your insight! Love learning.
Happy New Year Blessings! 🙏
Can't wait for it
My thoughts are that I love your channel brother. Keep it up Brandon!!!!

Hello Brandon and Vanessa
Happy New Year. Be safe
Thank you!

Happy New Year from Della and me
Brandon I’m curious. Did you ever decide whether or not to do a deep dive on the Netflix movie “Mary”? I’d love your take on it.
Also, I am preparing this same video so your insight will be very handy. As always, great one!!
2.34 this was also the same song to assess Andrew's feet at the wedding of Cana.

Wedding Scene points to The Bride & Tabernacles - if ykyk

yes the Passover is all abt Him. so that statement could have been left out.
Perhaps This is your night would have been sufficient
