  • I hankered after a jaunty little EasyFlyer that one of the Indoor Aviation members flew regularly. The EasyFlyer kit is no longer available, but there is a very similar Magnum Reloaded available. I found the plans online and set about making my own Magnum Reloaded from foam.
This video covers the construction and flight tests of this great little flyer!
    0:00 Introduction
    0:40 Build
    2:15 Foam Cutting
2:45 Radio Gear and Motor Installation
    3:53 Maiden Flights at Waverley
    5:15 Recap of Maiden Flights
    5:33 Complete Construction
    6:42 Mullum Mullum Test Flights
    8:19 Recap of Test Flights
    9:02 Future Plans
    Future Enhancements:
The wingspan is 38cm (15”). Length is 36cm and now weighs 78g after a few upgrades (1020 motor, tissue covered wings, stronger undercarriage). See later videos. Is now one of my mainstays for indoor flying.
Wing Rebuild using tissue to strengthen:
    • Magnum Reloaded Rebuil...
Final Updates after Motor Upgrade sorted and stonger undercarriage:
    TBA

Well done Davo. It must be handy having an aeronautical engineer in the family.

Yep, that's why us Old Kamikazi Club members prefer EPP toys Dave. 😉
For your EPS builds, just adding thin packaging tape to any stress areas is generally the lightest fix. You can use carbon fibre or double up the EPS sheeting but that adds weight and/or bulk. And Superglue has a bad habit of going exactly where you DON'T want it - especially in shaky hands under the supervision of bleary-eyed Old Farts! 😱🙄😂

I’ve learned a lot from these builds. Looking forward to improving the planes. Nothing like flying something you’ve made yourself!
