Superb hands-on tutorial for anyone new to these versatile cutters - many thanks.
It's great to see a European RUclipsr woodworker, in the sea of American ditto. Not that I dont like American videos - your videos are just much more relatable with regards to equipment - sliding table saw, spindle moulder etc. Keep up the good work - I'm happy that your succes is increasing - well deserved. David
Thank you!! David, and Welcome ..:)
Thanks again Andy these Sunday updates are very interesting and helpful
Cheers. Looking forward to these Sunday vlogs. Keep up the good work & wood work! 😉
I dont know much about spindle moulders but i did find this very interesting, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
These are really helpful videos, great stuff.
Decent run through all the different cutters and machines they fit. 👌
That catalog sure has a mile and a half of blades in it, had a chuckle at all those book marks hanging out of the pages... 👍
Easy to understand the high quality of your work that churns out, when you see the up market tools you use, that and your keen eye for detail. Good job, mate
I'd like to see more of that machine in action.
You can see my using it on many builds. Check out some videos the hot tub is a good place to start 👍
Really helpful! Thank you
Cheers Andy another useful video! Can you do some more in-depth videos on spinal moulding showing how to make window? Thanks great channel 👍
Have a look at the hot tube build you can see how the moulder shapes wood . Making windows is not something I am set you for and requires specific cutters
Interesting to see you had the groover modified to fit your Altendorf. Have you thought of modifying your F3 to Felder's MF spindle system?
I am fine with the Fixed F3 Spindle,..
can i buy the cutter for door cutters door profiles cutters
You've opened a real (cutter) Pandora's box here - FASCINATING STUFF. Please consider doing some more as time and inclination coincide.
One question concerning your table saw, I'm REALLY curious why you chose not to acquire a Felder Format (or some variant thereof). I remember when you got your surface/thickness planer, and your remarks noted the quality and consistency of it (oh, and not to forget "this is an animal"). Not disparaging your table saw choice of course, merely curious, no more.
BAM...Sunday update on a high protein diet!! :)
For the money the WA6 is much better saw than a Hammer . I didn’t want 2nd hand and Format saw is mega money. I would love one but it’s not as important as a 500mm. Planner to me . Alterdorf invented the sliding saw and they make very high quality saws..!
That explains the reasoning perfectly....thanks for sharing your background thought processes!
Can you buy a cutter like the one you had done, that can be used on table saw and on shaper?
Saw need a longer diameter to clear the saw bed , I think only Felder make one for the saw
Thankfully somone using the correct pronunciation of rebate.
Why do the Americans call rebates rabbits?
That's not universal. I call 'em rebates, because...well, them's rebates and not some little fluffy critter with an abnormal reproductive urge that tastes mighty good on a BBQ y'all. Mid-Atlantic folks WILL (in general) tend to describe 'em correctly, whereas the boys from the South might just designate 'em ....ummm...well..."somewhat differently" :) :)
Because in the US, they are called and spelled "rabbets" (not "rabbits", which are cute little animals). Different word, same thing. Also see: aluminum and aluminium and similar.
In case you hadn't noticed, US English and UK English are very similar, but different dialects, much like Spain Spanish and the Spanish used in many other countries in central and South America. Same base language, different dialects.
Both dialects are correct, if used in context and in their own country.
Also, at least in the US, a "rabbet" is a specific type of groove along the edge of a piece where one side is open. The other things he's calling "rebates" here would either be grooves (with the grain) or dadoes (across the grain), at least in the US. Calling a dado or groove a rabbet would be incorrect.
