It worries me how much faith people put in Sally’s employees. I’m sure some of them know quite a bit, some know some basics, but people tend to think they’re all experts and not retail workers who happen to work at a beauty supply store.
this! I worked at a Sally's and everyday just about had to remind people that I am not a licensed cosmetologist. I have opinions and I know a bit about hair but I am not a professional.
Correct! I did a short stint at Sally's when I relocated to a new city and I was the only staff member who was actually from a hairdressing background. It was very, very common to see people come back with hair disasters after being advised by sales staff 😱 the public assumes all Sally staff are trained and they are not.
I can't help admiring the sheer confidence of these people. "I don't even know the difference between permanent and semi-permanent colour and I haven't even bothered to watch an entire tutorial but I'm going to BLEACH MY ENTIRE HEAD. What could possibly go wrong?"
After watching many many many Hair Buddha's videos I've learnt a few things about home dyeing. 1. Use no more than 20 volumes. 2. Take fine sections. 3. Do the roots last. 4. GO TO A BLOODY HAIRDRESSER!!
My sister bleaches my hair from a level 5 dark brown to white in one process, it’s amazing what can be achieved with tiny sections, a lot of training and confidence.
I learned about a decade ago to heed HB's advice about investing in a good (human hair) wig to experiment with colors. Before that, I had been killing my hair repeatedly with chemicals and heat. Now my hair is the longest and healthiest it's ever been AND I get to change my look whenever I want.
Yes! I’m glad you decided to take his advice and invest in a wig that way you can still play around with your look, but with no negative impact to your natural hair. I’m happy to hear that your hair is healthy growing long 🖤.
I think it's lucky that she wanted light purple hair. Those really helped her tone her hair way more than the t18. Considering her sections, it came out much more even than I would have thought
I could make a whole hair fail channel if I had filmed all my hair adventures over the last 2 years! Love these videos! Letting my hair grow out and embracing the greys now 😣
You don't have "fine" hair, you have THIN hair. Thick hair is when a person has more hair strands on their head. Fineness has to do with the actual structure of the individual hair strand itself. You just have thin hair. You may also have fine hair, but that's not what you're actually talking about.
I love your honesty calling out how so many results we see are filtered. Also I’ve noticed so many of them do it ‘at home’ and then post an after once they visit a salon
It seems like a lot of people use that phrase so flippantly especially concerning permanent disasters to their appearance. There’s always something to lose.
@@gothlymoor9472 It’s a way for them to justify doing something that has consequences. It’s like when someone says “I don’t care”, but in actuality they do.
Hair Buddha, believe it or not " needles through your body" is what I turn to daily for relief from everything else!! You gotta laugh to keep from crying for them. You do this because you're bringing us back to the reality that there really are down to earth, empathetic people out there who truly love others. You're doing good, that's why.
Her natural color was so beautiful, with natural copper shine, which also means it'll bleach bright orange because there is a lot of red in it. Anyone can have bleach blonde with the right dye job, but not every brown is the same, I've always wanted a reddish brown like hers but my color is ashier and dying it still won't give me hair like that.
' do you see this?' 'I DONT WANNA SEE IT!' 😂😂 I love your reactions. I'm watching the video as I'm on my way to school but we're not colouring this evening unfortunately haha
... BY TAKING FINE SECTIONS!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I ain't gon' lie - I laughed so loud and hard seeing her in the bathtub and she said "I am sitting in bleach - now I got bleach in my eyes - aaaaah"
I've been following your content for a while, and I have to say, if I've learned something it is to suck it up, save my money, and haul my ass to the salon. Thank you for these videos. They serve as a reminder that I, a lay person, don't know what I'm doing. Plus you're really funny.
I LOVE this channel!! You make it hilarious yet helpful throughout the videos on why it went wrong and the proper technique or products. You have a new fan!
I have been watching your videos for several nights now and I love you so so much!!! I’m a retired beautician for several years and you make me want to do color again!!! I still do hair cuts, but your color knowledge is so on point and so funny too!!! Section section section 😂😂😂😂😂
Hair Buddha throwing this arms around in the air going argh! That's a huge arse mood right there. I haven't watched you and your videos in a while and damn have I missed you a lot. I'm now enjoying my night binging your videos. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!!
4:33 this is actually a cultural thing. Most American baking recipes are done by volume, rather than by weight. So most Americans DON'T have scales around that measure ounces/grams (unless they're participating in illegal activities, or mailing a lot of packages). Most Americans would therefore also assume that the 2oz would be by volume (fl oz) and not by weight.
For instance, my Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe: 2 and 3/4 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1/2 tbsp baking soda 1tsp vanilla 2 eggs 2 sticks (1 cup) butter 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup dark brown sugar 1 bag chocolate chips. Anyway, my point is that it's all by volume as most American baking recipes are.
Those lilac dyes did her a favor by toning it that's about the only good thing that happened. I would not pick that shade of blonde to go with her skin tone though 😬
Honestly, I think we were born with the hair color that looks best with our skin tone. So many people are trying to color their hair to a color that just doesn’t suit them.
I was a medium blond with a mallen streak at the front, I have a very pale greyish skin and it just made me look ill/ sick all the time so I covered it in my own hair colour shade , my youngest son has the same problem. I'm now 60 with loads off grey and I hate it, it makes me look old and ill🤮 so colour it a medium blond .
Once upon a time, I had that perfect shade of chestnut brown, but I wanted to be 90s goth like Winona Ryder. The adults in my life lamented my bad choice, but I rocked inky black hair for several years. Fatefully, when I finally grew it out again, it was obvious that I had started to gray prematurely, so the brown parts were more ashy in tone. Now I chase the chestnut dream. I understand what those adults felt now as I watch this girl destroy a perfect color. She can always grow it back, and most people do not gray in their late 20s, but it hurts to watch this! Edit: When you just look at the final blond color in a vacuum, it's not bad, but next to her skin tone it fails miserably. While she is not dark skinned, her coloring is rich and needs darker warmer tones next to it.
"normally I have long hair in a ponytail, but I use a bald filter for the videos" had me in tears 😂😂😂
I love your humor

Omg me too! He’s so F-ing hilarious 😂😂😂

Sally’s employees have told me some CRAZY ish LOL
????that makes no sense?.have told you crazy stories is that what you mean ?
I asked an employee where she went to school and she said she was only retail. So they don’t hire professionals and neither do they in supply houses.
“I’m turning 25, I’m not getting any younger” LOL guuurl 😂🤣
Hysterical! Like 26 would be the end of the world 😂
Ikr 🙄
Oh I know right? I feel like an old lady right about now 😒
I completely lost it when she said that 😂😂
I was just gonna say the same thing. She is so young and acts like her life is over. Oh well. Its just hair. I'll be dead anyways.
I would purchase a shirt that says, "FINE SECTIONS!!!" if you had that merchandise Hair Buddha😂
Yes with his face on it with his signature hand gesture xD
He has merchandise now
I can't help admiring the sheer confidence of these people. "I don't even know the difference between permanent and semi-permanent colour and I haven't even bothered to watch an entire tutorial but I'm going to BLEACH MY ENTIRE HEAD. What could possibly go wrong?"
His freak out over sections was high key adorable
It hurt so deep.....
30 needle swords sticking through my body....
Why?
Why?

Every time someone doesn’t take fine sections, a tiny piece of Hair Buddha dies. 😂
But oh how I freakin love his reactions ☺️
Nooo, we must protect him at all costs 😅

2. Take fine sections.

4. GO TO A BLOODY HAIRDRESSER!!
I agree with this, especially point 4. She had lovely hair to start with anyway, so why a princess would want to transmogrify into a frog beats me.
😂💯👍😘👋
You need to first learn that dye is adding colour and bleach is blond
I was a hairdresser for 30 years. Believe me, a lot of them are not much better than these home hacks.
Not everyone can afford that and still want to change their hair. Granted it doesn't always work out. Sometimes it does
“These roots are everywhere!” 🤣🤣🤣 Fine sections! 😂😂
My sister bleaches my hair from a level 5 dark brown to white in one process, it’s amazing what can be achieved with tiny sections, a lot of training and confidence.

I also have level 5 hair. May I ask what products she uses?

The disappointment face when sectioning isn't done is heartbreaking. Stop killing the Hair Buddha's soul. lol
I think it's lucky that she wanted light purple hair. Those really helped her tone her hair way more than the t18. Considering her sections, it came out much more even than I would have thought

This coiffeur is so likeable and professional. Very clear comments and humour.
Wow, I never thought that having fine hair to be a blessing. I can dye my hair so easily and sectioning takes little to no time at all.
Me too!😅
Same!
I have fine hair too but I have plenty of hair, it takes still a bit not really really a lot but not so little
You don't have "fine" hair, you have THIN hair.
