Have traveling “evangelists” fallen out of favor? When I was a young Christian, our Baptist church frequently hosted traveling “evangelists” who were Exhorters rather than evangelists. At the last Baptist church I attended, guest preachers were all pastors. Evangelism was relegated to every member. Exhortation has its place, but I’m glad to see what appears to be a correction, at least on RUclips.

Evangelists equip the saints. So exhorting the church is an important part of our ministry. Christians need inspiration,instruction etc to do the worministry
