    Good storyline. I have my Dads 86 Chevy C20. Had to update a few things. But I still keep it almost the same. They’re good ol trucks. But the best thing is they were our “Dads”. Nice video at the end 👍

    Not everything has to be a Hot Rod… just a good Truck. Love seeing the writing with the firing order and timing. Actually Tom’s dad had that writing inside on the fenders of The Jackpine Savage. Ran the same 440 from 1970-1992

    I had my grandfathers 1969 Chevelle 4 door in a light green color I don't like. He was more of a father to me then my dad ever was. A few years I sold it and came to regret it. I was lucky and bought it back a year ago. Long story short, don't ever sell your dads truck, you'll regret it.

    Cool old truck. I would maintain it as is. You have Plenty of hot rods already. I have an '88
    D-100 I bought new. I paid 10,100 with financing. Its a long WB with V-6 5 speed. If I park it where it can be seen from the road people will stop and ask if its for sale.

    Good video, my dad had a '75 D100 with same set up for almost 25yrs as his shop truck. I would stick a Holley avenger 2bbl on there and open the exhaust up to a 2.5in coming out the manifold. Other than that not much else you can do performance wise without tearing into the engine 🙂

  • @brianandglendaharkin9457
    @brianandglendaharkin9457 6 месяцев назад +1

    How fast do you need to go that slant has ways to make it get up and go in our family were had plenty of slants in early valiants and many friends with them and put many brand x to shame in there so called V8s . It’s already in it and that makes a great start with out all the headaches of mods .

    • @318willrun
      @318willrun  6 месяцев назад +1

      I don't need all my vehicles to be hot rods, in fact, most aren't'!! Ha! It will be if I want the sound of a V8.

    • @318willrun
      @318willrun  6 месяцев назад

      @@NathansMoparGarage Yeah, I could try to verify. How long ago did you do that for your friend? Many times the exhaust manifolds crack, and people would go to the junk yard and it was easier to pull the intake manifold with the exhaust manifold and some swaps happen that way.

    Have any knowledge on connecting a lokar kickdown cable on one of these 2 barrels? Cant find anything online. I have not given up trying to make it work but this is making my brain hurt.

    • @318willrun
      @318willrun  6 месяцев назад

      I have not used the lokar cables on a 2bbl, but I think you might have to get a little creative to make it work. Might not be any aftermarket support for the 2bbl set up.

    In my opinion, this Dodge truck generation is the pinacle of beautifull. Your Father was very wise and you should built your 400ci for when the slant-6 breaks down.
    In another 50 years maybe ?
    My 75 valiant as the original slant-6 and everyone yanning at me, put a 318, a 360ci, do the hemi swap...
    Im not a purist by any kind, i would even put a hook up on a 69 daytona if it's "necessairy" for my needs.
    "But" I wouldn't swap à perfectly running engine until it breaks down. And when my girls inherite my cars when I pass on, will my girls be able to afford gas in it?????
    If I really need to go fast, I would built another truck with that 400ci just for that! Right now my 79' Winibago as a 71' truck 318ci with coolant intake passage. It's torquy until 20 mph. LoL
    Im considering swapping a 360ci or a 5.7 hemi I have in a 2003 truck if Im going to pull a trailer and my car at the track. Your father's wisdom was simple. I need something that brings me back home safe and trouble free.
    Follow your heart, that's what you need to do! You had that 400ci in you mind for a while now, it's maybe the time to take it off your chest? Hahaha😊
