Hi! I'm a homeschooling mom for 10 years, licensed teacher for Secondary I have a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling. Since I homeschooled I don't have experience in teaching in a formal school. My kids are multigrade, they homeschool until grade 10. I do tutoring from preschool to grade schools alongside. I was able to open a tutorial center here in our place. Is there a way for me to qualify as teacher in NZ? I would really appreciate your response. Thanks!
Good question! Currently, you must have a tertiary qualification in order to gain teacher registration. If you don't have a tertiary qualification, you are correct, that would disqualify you.

Hi there, I am interested in teaching, have 10 years experience, I hold Batchelor degree and Management Business concentrated in school management. I am interested in teaching, I am now in Wellington. Like to hear more from you.
I am a Bachelor of Elementary Education Graduate with 19 yrs teaching experience in primary elementary ages 6-8 and special needs education learners ages 6-9 , I am interested to apply as an ECE teacher. I am from Philippines and we use english language in our classroom instruction. My question is do I need to take English Proficiency Test in order to be qualified to teach at NZ?
Teaching requires a high standard of English or te reo Māori language competency in speaking, writing, reading and listening. All applicants studying to be a teacher or applying for registration and certification must meet the language competency requirements. The Council focuses on evidence-based proof and there are several opportunities to demonstrate competency
