You had me with Tales, so I came and what a beautifully made video! As a Tales fan, I welcome you, and congrats on finishing your Foray into the Tales series
My Tales journey began in 2019, after I was finishing Kingdom Hearts 3 and liking it, I was viewing into E3 (probably the last great one we ever got, before they suddenly got worse and unfortunately died), till I saw the reveal of a brand new Tales game called Tales of Arise, which looked so beautiful. So I had to ask some friends of mine who were Tales fans, telling me what the series about, with one in particular giving me a full darn lecture (akin to Garnt aka Gigguk posing as the Fate fan giving said lecture to a newcomer). Even got recommendations of what Tales games to start with, I then scoured RUclips to find videos on what Tales game to start with, and first one I encountered was from Zaffre_Revolution who gave his views of what Tales game to start being Vesperia or Xillia. Then I, did a Twitter poll of 4 possible candiates to start with: Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Xillia and Tales of Berseria. With the poll concluding Vesperia with it's recent Definitive Edition being the winner. So I began playing it on PC and really was impressed by it, from the wonderful artstyle that still holds up, to the stellar tho underrated music, to the loveable and awesome characters especially Yuri and also the enjoyable story as well as the combat system being solid. It won me over, so the next Tales game I played which just looked as appealing was Tales of Berseria, and I was WOWED even more to the point, I've become invested in the series. I followed playing the more divisive Zestiria which personally was enjoyably-okay, not great, but not bad either as many would point out to be. Moving away from the PC, sort of into more "other means", I played both the Tales of Xillia duology and loved them a lot, and then finally got to the more classic games with Symphonia, Abyss and Graces F. With Symphonia being enjoyable, Abyss being solid and Graces F also fairly enjoyable. All within 2019, while the marketing of Tales of Arise kept being promising, even if it was small glimpses of footage Unfortunately 2020, I took a break from it, especially when Tales of Arise itself got delayed and was absent of any news, and was looking on to other things, while still thinking about it. It was only until 2021 where things got better as Tales of Arise was finally released, and before hand to celebrate, I decided to play one last Tales game which would be my 9th and for Arise to be my 10th, which the 9th in question was Tales of Destiny via it's Directors Cut being the enhanced version of the PS2 Remake of the 1997 PS1 original, using a Fan Translation patch, one that I enjoyed a lot. and then when Tales of Arise finally got released and played it, I was left satisfied and loved it so much. and yeah that is currently my Tales journey, having played 10 entries in total. I plan to play more as the years go by, when we do get the next mainline Tales game
First off that’s awesome how you got into the series with your friend going full explanation mode😂(I should watch some Gigguk again) SECOND you should make a video on your Tales of story! I would watch for one I’m really excited for Abyss, Arise, and Vesperia. Which game of the 10 would you rank as number 1?
Yeah I should one day, tho I kinda lightly mentioned that in my past Tales videos haha, anyway as my personal favourite. That honour would have to Arise, followed by Berseria@@JustHistory_Guy
this game is like mother 3 for me. i have come to accept namco probably won't ever give us an actually good port of this game but it's fine because the fans have done more than enough over the years for it. would be nice to see the psp version translated though. glad to see not everyone has forgotten this game it isn't appreciated enough.
Vesperia was my first Trails game, so a lot of the older ones remain unplayed for me. I’ll have to get this up and running on my Steam Deck and knock it out soon.
there is something i dont understand, at the beggining the unknown heroes fight dhaos, but in the past we take their place and they are nowhere to be found except for the mage guy, is this a paradox or what?

But the game was a blast! and 100% worth playing/underrated

While I haven’t played vesperia yet, keep in mind this was originally a snes game so it is going to play like an older JRPG
