I just got into Blythe... in February 2021.... I’m the newbie❤️❤️❤️❤️I currently have 3 icy, and 1 custom Girls and have 4 boys coming in the mail. All from AliExpress. They have lots of sales, and dark skinned dolls. We are a multicultural family so I want that kind of dolls... I also have BJDs, home and on their way, and ‘processing’❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

In fact, Blythe dolls are originally toys unlike Pullip dolls or BJDs
But yes nowadays Blythe dolls became art dolls and that makes them less appropriate for children 🤔
I have 2 factory Blythe dolls at home, one with wavy grey hair named Celeste and the other with straight brown hair named Jade (both have bangs) and I really love them! I have Pullip dolls too and I think I prefer Pullip for the general look but they are too fragile, it's too easy to mess up a Pullip doll so I like the fact that I can "play" with my Blythe dolls (holding them and passing my fingers in their hair etc)

      That makes sense!
I think of uncustomized Blythes (especially the off brand, non-vintage ones) as toys, and the customized ones as art dolls. Similar to Monster High or Ever After High, I guess :)
I agree with you that Blythes seem to be sturdier overall. Pullips can be rebodied, which makes them a little less breakable, but then the neck joint may be fragile, so it's definitely a trade-off.

@@CaladhielTan That's exactly what I think! And in my opinion that's great that it can be both (toy or art dolls) so everyone can enjoy them!
And Pullip can have scratches on their head very easily that shine compared their matte face, the fact that they are vynil dolls makes them catch dirt quickly and if they are exposed to the sun they turn yellow 😔 they are made to be exposed in a cave 😂😂

BJDs have similar issues. The faceups scratch so easily, and the yellowing is very real :(

I am just now getting into Blythe dolls. I have two on the way and it seems like they are taking forever to come haha. How is your collection of Blythe coming along?

Congrats on your new dolls! I also watch unboxings while waiting for my orders to come in ;)
As for me and Blythes, I think I'm finding they're just... not my thing? They're really cool, but I don't do much with them. I appreciate them a lot, though, and enjoy seeing them in other peoples' collections.
