Out of all the boys that hit the beach in the first few waves of the actual battle in 1944. Only 26 men survived in total, these 26 men secured the beach on their own and held it for several hours against multipule German counter attacks. Out of the 26 men my grandfather was one of them. At only 18 he fought and watched his friends being killed all around him. We took a trip to the actual memorial site and my grandfather was walking us through everything they had to do and walked us to the positions he manned and fought from. There's ever a blown out bunker there that still stands. He showed us an inscription he carved into the inside wall when you first walk in look to the right and it's about 4ft up and reads "Frank Azzarello 2nd squad company B fought here on June 6th 1944. They landed as boys, fought like men, died as heros"
you can set the vehicles so the guys wont disembark when shit goes down. Fiddle around with the vehicle/soldier options in the editor and you will find it. Cant remember what it was, but its easy to do. Great Mission btw ! :)
You should visit Point du Hoc some day, I already visited twice and the site is deteriorating fast, in general the whole Normandy area of operations is a must visit for every person interested in WW2.

I personally have been to point du hoc and it is covered in craters and shrapnel all over the concrete bunkers. Just amazing how they did this
