That's a real beauty Gunnar. Before I started "rolling" my own there was a line jigs that I believe were called Nature Jigs, maybe distributed by Mr Twister. They were tied with feather, bucktail, and deer hair. I had one tied as a Muddler on a stand up wedge shaped head. We drifted over a long point and I could feel it tick over the bottom. Soon I loss touch so I figured it dropped off into deeper water. I reeled, the line tightened, I felt a heavy weight. Then it started to shake, thought I caught a nice heavy walleye until it surfaced and rolled - Big Moe! Then I realized it was a big pike. It sounded about 3 times before we got it netted and in the small jon boat. When I saw the size of it I said "We gotta get a bigger boat", and we headed back to the camp. So I agree, your presentation of these simple natural tied jigs are killers. Thanks a bunch man!
Way to go Gunnar, you’re fly and streamer patterns are awesome. I’m inspired, and tying a lot of you’re patterns. Going with versatility this year on my bass boat, and bringing the fly rod with me. Great tutorials.
Hey Gunnar, your getting more like Kelly every day, fishing in the summer, tying in the winter. That's not a bad thing. Neat fly, or I guess really a jig. Keep the good stuff coming.
Thanks for sharing Gunnar, I can always appreciate the cross over with spinning gear. Working at a fishing department I have seen hair jigs, maribou jigs, etc.... I have actually tied some different spinnerbaits to give them a different look and feel with natural material mixed with some accent vs just a rubber skirt. This jig with the crayfish pattern along with the bugger and minnow will be deadly on many species of fish out there.

Thank you Gunner, I spin fish and I tie so I am always trying to come up with flys exactly like this. Thanks so much 👍

Nice one Gunnar! I prefer to fly fish but when the wind comes up and the fish are deep jigs are the best option. Thanks for posting!
Dam!!! This was impressive as all get out!!! Wow!

I use cutters and remove that extra lead. Your jigs are next level!
Another killer fly. I've put my spinning gear up for this season, but now, I'm rethinking that.lol
Awesome jigs and crossover. I could use these on either setup.
Real Nice job Gunner, have you tried cutting off the collar on one it works better for me on most of my ties...
So, why not remove excess lead behind head?
Bammmmm!!
That would kill it on a black or brown head. That would fish on the Yakima River in Washington State.
Noice😊
👍👍👍👍🎣🇪🇸
SAWEEEEET! I just bought a beautiful cock pheasant skin, gorgeous and want to try these! Thanks Gunnar!
