    WRONG!!!! Making the network better by utilizing more spectrum is a 4G solution. 5G is fast because it already has so much spectrum to use. The only fix is putting 5G cells on every light post and traffic light in the city and bury thousands of miles of fiber optics. That will cost billions, if my bill goes up, then I’m happy with 4G. I don’t need my bill to double so big cell companies can maintain their profit margins.

    • @accumulator5734
      @accumulator5734 5 лет назад +1

      When speaking about 5G I’m referring to the multi gigabit speeds that the media keeps mentioning. Correct me if I’m wrong but those capabilities are based on the ultra high frequency millimeter wave length technology. Mid band 5G will not be able to achieve those speeds and midband is what is meant when someone says more spectrum will be activated over time. Bandwidth is tied to frequency in general even if better modulation schemes are used. To me that is highly deceiving to the general public to imply 5G will reach multi gig speeds and then speak about adding more spectrum to the infrastructure already in place.

    • @clarenceloieprima6747
      @clarenceloieprima6747 4 года назад

      But we've got to start somewhere right? We can't just abandon 5G because it only works in certain conditions. That's what they told people about 3G and 4G. Of course it will be expensive in the beginning. Give it a decade. If stop now. Then might as well wait a century.

    The real question is how providers are going to bill for this. A typical Sprint plan is say 10GB for $30/month. 5G could literally blow through that in a few minutes. Thus, they'll need some dramatically new pricing, which then creates an issue with 4G pricing -- even if you don't need the speeds. If 5G is several times that of 4G... no one will use it. 4G if fast enough for nearly all uses -- maps, looking up reviews, checking something online, etc. And in any case you really need 5G speeds (such as downloading a movie or something)… well... I doubt anyone is going to pay $200/month for something only available in major cities in specific locations... when there is like a WiFi location nearby for free.

    • @Dewibop
      @Dewibop 5 лет назад

      4G is fast enough for maps, streaming music, watching videos. But 3G couldn’t even do that stuff. 5G will allow new technologies and services that you can’t even imagine yet because they don’t exist. So no, 4G cannot handle all uses because we haven’t even created all uses yet.

    Real speed comes from torrent. Try downloading something from popular torrent. As when downloading there is always a maximum limit on servers where you are downloading from. Looks like your technical advisor was not that smart

    In Australia we have have a 4G network option or a 5G option so this is not that impressive to me (Telstra provider)

    This could be good solution for fibre to the home. Install a transmitter on each street and fit a small dish (10cm) on the wall outside and run a tiny thin co-ax cable though the wall and into a reciever/router inside converting mmwave to 5GHz wifi. Fibre has to be converted back to wifi anyway, currently with multiple boxes and wallworts! Could install the transmitters on existing utility poles every few hundred meters. Will never run out of capacity in mmwave.

    I'm fine with 4g, I don't have much of an issue with it. The thing is, I live in a rural area and I get pretty good coverage. To put it in perspective, I can download Asphalt 9 in about 4 minutes

      君愷范 sprint 5G has terrible speeds compared to other 5G
      But don’t worry! Soon it will be merged with T-Mobile midband 5G!
