Does anybody remember when Cellular industry was touting 4G as the future with 1GB up and 1GB down? I think the fastest I have got wast 24mb on ATT. So I would take what cell industries with a grain of salt
But does that wave interact with any other standards in the US? Right now 5g is rumored to get in the way of GPS. I wonder if sub6 would have anything it would be interfering with
WRONG!!!! Making the network better by utilizing more spectrum is a 4G solution. 5G is fast because it already has so much spectrum to use. The only fix is putting 5G cells on every light post and traffic light in the city and bury thousands of miles of fiber optics. That will cost billions, if my bill goes up, then I’m happy with 4G. I don’t need my bill to double so big cell companies can maintain their profit margins.
When speaking about 5G I’m referring to the multi gigabit speeds that the media keeps mentioning. Correct me if I’m wrong but those capabilities are based on the ultra high frequency millimeter wave length technology. Mid band 5G will not be able to achieve those speeds and midband is what is meant when someone says more spectrum will be activated over time. Bandwidth is tied to frequency in general even if better modulation schemes are used. To me that is highly deceiving to the general public to imply 5G will reach multi gig speeds and then speak about adding more spectrum to the infrastructure already in place.
But we've got to start somewhere right? We can't just abandon 5G because it only works in certain conditions. That's what they told people about 3G and 4G. Of course it will be expensive in the beginning. Give it a decade. If stop now. Then might as well wait a century.
I get around 100 megs here in Canada on LTE and that's fast enough for me really. After I reach 10GB in a month they slow my connection down on my 'UNLIMITED' data plan anyways....
Here in Delhi, India I get 1.8 Mbps on a 4G network. But data prices here are cheap it costs ₹250($3.6) for 1.5 GB Data everyday for a month (45 GB) with unlimited free voice and SMS. XD
900 Mbps = 112.5 MBps, and that's 18 times faster of what I get. So that's not that coooool, still it's better. You should tell speed in MBps btw. Mbps is their trick to fool people, cause downloads are in MB/GB not Mb/Gb
@@h3rs8That's okay dear, but I'm taking about you downloads. Your downloads are in Giga bytes not Giga bits. And someone could easily be tricked with 900 Mbps speed if he/she doesn't know the difference between MB and Mb

I don't know why I kept skipping this video. This was very informative thank you. I knew 5G had coverage problems, but I didn't think if those other problems.
No words about the latency? Some says 5G has improved x45 from 4G latency, and that is critical for any real-time application. I wonder how well with the latency you can get.
It’s the arrogant of U.S carrier that use mmWave first, just only Sprint 2.5Ghz that use Sub-6Ghz category. Look at Asia & Europe, they all use 3.5Ghz first which is more wider coverage available while maintaining at 500Mbps average which is practically great for everyone.
It must be MBps I think Cause 1MBps = 8Mbps , so I think 5MBps would mean 40Mbps which is not that bad. But if it's really in Mbps, then omg it's not even 4g
Oh man as soon as you busted out the tent on the street I thought you would be right at home with SF or LA. All those homeless tent encampments get the best 5G signal !
The real question is how providers are going to bill for this. A typical Sprint plan is say 10GB for $30/month. 5G could literally blow through that in a few minutes. Thus, they'll need some dramatically new pricing, which then creates an issue with 4G pricing -- even if you don't need the speeds. If 5G is several times that of 4G... no one will use it. 4G if fast enough for nearly all uses -- maps, looking up reviews, checking something online, etc. And in any case you really need 5G speeds (such as downloading a movie or something)… well... I doubt anyone is going to pay $200/month for something only available in major cities in specific locations... when there is like a WiFi location nearby for free.
4G is fast enough for maps, streaming music, watching videos. But 3G couldn’t even do that stuff. 5G will allow new technologies and services that you can’t even imagine yet because they don’t exist. So no, 4G cannot handle all uses because we haven’t even created all uses yet.
and now the next problem is how much limited offered data are. people will want to have bigger data allocation or better unlimited data. this is expensive tho
I'm half joking (internals of skull- no one talks like that) and half serious - There are actual studies on the radiation and array of frequencies that 5g gives off. These are not just anyone researching these claims. I'm sure the Belgian Government didn't halt their 5g infrastructure because they couldn't afford it.
2:08 - 2.1GB can take 1 hr or more on LTE? Your LTE networks must be super congested. I am more concern about those pings. Over 10-20 ms? I thought they were promising numbers closer to 1 ms???!!!!
Real speed comes from torrent. Try downloading something from popular torrent. As when downloading there is always a maximum limit on servers where you are downloading from. Looks like your technical advisor was not that smart
This could be good solution for fibre to the home. Install a transmitter on each street and fit a small dish (10cm) on the wall outside and run a tiny thin co-ax cable though the wall and into a reciever/router inside converting mmwave to 5GHz wifi. Fibre has to be converted back to wifi anyway, currently with multiple boxes and wallworts! Could install the transmitters on existing utility poles every few hundred meters.
