Damm, Kyle Reese uses the shotgun he used to shoot the T-800. So Badass.
No, he sawed off the stock on that one. This one has a handgun-shaped grip.
Terminator 2 and Aliens are my favourite sequels of all time!!!...
YOU GOT THE POINT
This rescue was Ripley's chance at redemption for the deaths of her colleagues in the first film. In a way she saved the marines in their honor and her sanity. Love this scene.
Yep Ellen Ripley is the queen of space and Signourney Weaver was amazing in Aliens. Only one question why didn't she use the gun that had that could have killed the queen. The Queen was Ripley's fear. She faced it.
She did everything NOT to let the colleagues die in the 1st film starting from not letting Alien on board.
What a great scene. Ripley taking action with fantastic music behind her. When she starts driving and the music kicks in, I get tingles.
One of the best sci fi movies ever!
The best
Drake looks so badass in this scene. I kind of wish he survived longer. But at the same time the scene works because he comes off as a strong soldier here and despite that dies in a terrifying manner, which adds to the sense of dread that no matter how strong or skilled any one of them may look death is coming. And instills true shock in the rest of them.
Hudson’s death is also perfect. It’s so good that their characters come through so much in the way they die. In modern movies death scenes are just gimmicky “ways to die”. Whereas in this movie each of them die in a way that reflects their characters. Burke dies hiding and betraying everyone and panicking, Drake dies fighting, Hudson dies filled with adrenaline going crazy screaming vitriol at the aliens before his demise, Vasquez fights down to her last tooth and nail and goes out with desperation. The other soldiers with less lines and less character development obviously get less depth to their deaths naturally. And as someone else said on another video about Bishops death: Queen takes bishop. He had done his part perfectly and dies as he makes a genuine connection with Ripley after having helped her.
It’s so well done all of it 😵💫
This movie is such a gem. Hasn’t aged at all… still some of the best action and tension ever put to film
Aliens and T2 have special effects that can hold up with many movies made today. Say what you want about James Cameron, he knows how to direct great movies.
Yes he is. My version of Avatar would have been boring. We would have recruited the Navi males to provide us with all Unobtainium we could use in exchange for video games, pizza, chainsaws and nail guns. What if we built them basketball courts? They looked like that with some practice they could really ball. And all the females could have done about it is roll their eyes and go have their nails done at the manicure shops we built them.
Alien 1 and 2 is epic masterpiece
And the only two films that is needed in this franchise IMO the rest don't exist
@@Nicholas_Chen_ definitely True
Alien3 is acceptable, as it was (supposedly) Ripley’s last hurrah... Alien4 came to be because the opportunity to show the Alien finally in a scientific lab of the company... that should’ve been the end... period.

I have rooted for Drake to make it since I was 6 years old back in 93 and I am still sad everytime this scene ends 😢
Man, I loved James Cameron casting in the 80s and 90s. Such good characters acted just right with very memorable facial expressions lol
Why the "lol"? Are you laughing at your own comment?
Cameron was so good with this. He knew the limitations of dudes in suits so he used lighting, shadows, and smoke. He didn't take long shots of the Aliens, just quick clips. He also knew how to extend a scene by just showing one side of the action and letting the viewer imagine the rest. NO other director could have made this movie better, given the tech limitations of 1985. James and his wife may have been complete assholes but this movie is an epic masterpiece.
agree👍🏾 good observations!🎉
@LakenAnderson I see your angle but disagree. The aliens were still powerful, cunning, and ruthless in the second movie. MANY scenes highlight this. They just faced a more formidable foe. Even then, they still eliminated the majority of the protagonists in mere minutes in the second film.
They may have never fit the image of the Alien 1 monster, but they were never the same as Starship Trooper bugs.
@LakenAnderson Fair....enough. I do think movies need to be somewhat believable, but I also think we need to shut off our inner computers at times so we can be entertained.
Cameron did a badass job. He took what was a freaking work of art and made it into an action thriller. Is Alien a better Horror movie? Yes. It is. Is Alien a better Sci fi thriller? Yes, it is.
Aliens went down a different path. It's an action movie, with zenomorphs in it. And for those of us that like that shit, IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!
they weren't assholes, the brits were just pansies
Is James Cameron hard to work with? Is he a shithead on movie sets?
That one line where Hicks screams at the top of his lungs Drake we are leaving was one of the most badass parts, and whenever I play mwiii zombies and whenever I'm about to exfil that usually comes to mind whenever I get swarmed 2:27

such a badass classical movie
so many one liners

I love how the sound of the aliens from this movie are still used to this day like in the AVP movies and games.
I mean, that's what they sound like. Why would it be different?
@@susieq360 I think he might be saying that they use those exact samples
I love how the atmosphere processing station's automated external door is just starting to open as the APC smashes through it. Great attention to detail in a masterfully made film.
1:41 Burke pulling Gorman back to allow Ripley to drive is the only good thing he does in the whole movie
He also picks up and uses a fire extinguisher at 3:06... but that's about it.
He still thinks they're on his side. It's when the rest shut down any notion of making money off of this that he turns on them.
Thank goodness that Jennifer Lawrence was such a trailblazer as a strong female lead to allow Sigourney Weaver to be to do movies like this 🤨
She needs to be humbled by the OG heroine hahaha
Jajajaja jajajaja!!
Who's Jennifer Lawrence ???
Lol! I really miss those days when a woman would kick ass, and nobody, save hardcore misogynists, would bat an eyelid...
I miss those days...
I don't like Jennifer Lawrence.
Kudos to the special effects crew --- entire exterior of the armored car is actually remote controlled miniature !!!!
She was the pure warrior. Caring, brave, getting it done. Most noble Ripley
Like no hollywood hero remember watching 2006.early6, brilliant, stunning
I like how Gorman is real quick to tell Ripley to shut up and try to stop her from saving the marines, and is otherwise totally useless.
So a realistic depiction of an O-1.
The music really makes this movie! RIP James Horner❤
This clip stopped before the best line: You've blown the transaxle, your just grinding metal! Ease down Ripley, ease down.
I have a toy replica of their APC and it even has the alien Ripley squashed molded underneath it! I noticed their dropships also look very similar to the bomber gunships in Avatar. James Cameron is one hell of a designer on everything in his films!👍🏻
I thought the dropship looked very similar to the HK's in the Terminator franchise as well. Must be a Cameron thing 😂
The Warrior xenomorph design is interesting including their iconic rigid head unlike the smooth Drone head shown in all other films, apparently it's to avoid the glass dome breaking in production and James Cameron explained himself as 'This is what aged Drone looks like', good save. Also modern toys made the drones have a blue colour on their bodies for some reason, they seem pretty black in this film to me.
I wonder if it's to emulate the blue lighting of this (and other 1980s) films?
0:54 that scream is just....
very iconic
I loved the moment the Alien had fallen on Apone. It shocked me as a kid that such a cool and bad ass wardog couldn’t do anything against some monster.
Love this scene! Ripley was a badass!
*Marines, We are Leaving!!!*
3:00 Hooray! The Xenomorphs melted Bogs Diamond’s face!
Timeless movie. I could watch it every damn time I get a chance for ot.
Baddass. Every moment of this movie
2:55- nightmare fuel.
What is amazing here is you see the aliens maybe 3 seconds on an almost 5 minutes scene, but it's still very terriffying.
Love the music.
Yeah, it does have a great soundtrack.
"Game over man, game over".What a line.!
In contrary to common belief Aliens doesn't really show a lot of Aliens. The Warrior xenomorphs we see here are often shown very briefly in a flash just for a brief second to the point you can't capture a full lingering shot.
RIdley Scott is the master of thrill by suggestion.
i HAVE This movie ON DVD AND THE ACTOR in this movie AS (Ripley) is SEGORNIY WEAVER AND SHE WAS in A movie CALLED GHOST BUSTERS AND SHE WAS A GREAT ACTOR in this movie 😁
Gotta love the whole burnout with the APC
that radio guy was most likely a yes sir by the book type of guy. He totally froze when the marines were getting slaughtered and when Ripley 'advised' him on what to do he wasnt having any of it, same way when Ripley was driving the APC he was going full authority on her.
I know this is super late, but earlier in the film, Gorman (Radio Guy) states that he's been in 38 simulated battles, and 2 combat ones, including the one they were just on. I don't know if you've seen the film yet, just letting you know you were correct in your assumption :)
The lieutenant, the most useless member of the army, or marines. In many movies you can see that the LT is often unexperienced and very confused on what to do.
So great APC! The acid didn't melt the vehicle.
38 years later, this scene is incredible. The split second decision Ripley makes to take matters into her own hands is her redemption for not being to save her nostromo crew. It’s also validation that she was not imagining any of this. If any of the marines doubted her before, not after this.
Just noticed that the music here has a bit of the Klingon War Ship music. It's a mix of Holtz's "Mars" from "The Planets" with Prokofiev.
The fkn sets, props, music, design, and bad ass ery. Perfection
you know you suck when even Burke says get lost ya had your chance.
Great work by Sir Johnny Weaver there!
Marvelously futuristic just like filmed 1985.11 ~ 1986.3, released autumn 1986
I love how most get hit with the acidic blood. Such detail!

I love this movie so much.

Incredible filmmaking. ♥️
Awesome soundtrack!!

I guess Kyle Reese is better fighting Terminators than aliens.
Say Again?!?
All-After-Incinerators!?!?
Remember when Jim Cameron made badass stuff like this, before he started making films about magical blue creatures living in the forest?
It's his creative decision
@@imcallingjapan2178 Yeah, that's exactly the point.
@@kommisar. Is it? So it's his prerogative. No artist should ever feel creatively beholden to self-proclaimed fans, they should make whatever they want to make.
@@imcallingjapan2178 And those "self-proclaimed fans" have every right to trash whatever he decides to create if they don't like it. The problem with people like you is you believe artists and their works are beyond criticism or condemnation. It works both ways, especially when you're charging lots of money for those works.
@@kommisar. "The problem with people like you is you believe artists and their works are beyond criticism or condemnation. " When did I say that?
Always bugs me that Drake doesn't get back to the APC. They all die any way but that bit always pisses me off.
The music alone makes it even more better
1:51 Who wishes she could have fired that cannon
And yet they never used the acid for blood every again I don't think
Hudson was lucky that acid didnt melt his arm clean off
Open the door 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Drake should of lived longer frfr
Eat This!
Lets rock
Lt. not even going in with his guys smh even in the future officers get outta doing dirty work
Ripley's crew killed in 24 hours and this team of heavily-armed Space Marines halved in less than 10 minutes of a deadly ambush!
Here comes Khan!
Guess she wasn’t waiting for the automatic door opener huh
Hey, this movie predicted body cams a good 30 years before they became a reality.
THIS is a real strong female character that we all love.
and yet they won't make an aliens sequel
Wheres Animal Mother?
Ripley driving the transporter is iconic and films like Snydercut and even the Batman 2022 seem to be influenced heavily by this car chase scene with the protagonists driving their mobiles like a badass with similar beating/pumping music playing (Yes I know the Aliens car technically isn't a car rather a transporter or a tank)
U r rite
Ripley, meaningful female lead. Period.
Its unfortunate that it doesnt show Capone getting killed or a view from the marines fighting the aliens when they are trying to escape, I guess it would be due to production costs.
Drake should of been taken captive and face hugged right?
Why did lieutenant not permitted her to rescue the team?
James Camera On
When she ran the alien over, the alien acid blood would've melted the wheels.
Cybertruck to the rescue!

Escuche el rumor en qué Arnold Schwarzenegger iba a obtener un papel en aliens y si fuese así el en realidad iba a ser el verdadero héroe de acción en derrotar a los aliens a la reina alien y utilizar el robot power lawder 😊😊
I can't believe Jennifer Lawrence claimed to be the first female action star.
Show this to muppets who say strong female characters didn't exist back then.
So glad Jennifer Lawrence was the first Hollywood female to be an action heroine.
Don’t forget Taylor swift
80s action movies: Strong women are _shown,_ not proclaimed. Ripley, Vasquez, Sarah Connor. But today, all you get is lots of trumpet-blowing by directors / producers about "strong female characters" while the characters themselves are mediocre with zero depth.
Watched director's cut last night because fuck the gop convention coverage.

This is why I could never be a movie maker. In my version the Marines would have deployed a number of sophisticated drones and would have known the exact disposition of the colony's inhabitants, including the ones cocooned, before ever setting foot on the ground. They they would have used a number different chemical agents, again deployed by drones, to try to eliminate the xenomorphs before putting anyone at risk. And how boring would that have been?
And in my version they would have had sentries posted around their landing ship. It would have been dullsville.
gorman should have shut his mouth

stupid xeno never stand in front of a moving vehicle
Ripley is the ultimate Karen.
How come the acid blood doesn't destroy the wheel of the APC after she runs the alien over?
It did soon after this scene!
@@Nicholas_Chen_ You may be right. It's been a while since I've seen this movie.
I've always wondered this! 🤣🤣
@@Nicholas_Chen_no, she blew the "trans axle" which I believe is possibly the drive shaft 😂
@@Red-tm1bs I suppose it's possible they were going so fast the tire moved out of distance of contact with the blood, but if it had any contact it would burn a hole right through it like we saw in the first movie.
“DO SOMETHING! Fuck!” *gets into the driver’s seat and floors it*
And they say men don’t like strong female leads. Bullshit we don’t.
And this... is why you should grant military rank based on actual field experience and not academic accolades. Any questions?
That was how it worked in the past, E.G. in the roman legion, you started off as a trooper then got promoted to officer ranks like decurion and centurion. But then, the roman legion didnt have a NCO corps and modern armies function very differently. Officers are taught different stuff than NCOs these days. Fresh LTs need time to get up to speed which is why they rely on their NCOs so much.
His big mistake was sending them in without their usual guns, should have pulled back and figured out another way. But then it would turn into a tower defence game with the marines blowing the shit out of aliens with awesome firepower and that wasnt the kind of movie they wanted to make.
And that's how you make a Strong Female character ladies and Gents...Unlike the BS we see today for Hollywood or Disney.
It just sucks the director didn't have the foresight to tell us whether Ripley was a man or a woman. leaving it so ambiguous was so weird. TBH none of the characters gender identities were explained properly.
Very clever. Did you come up with all that by yourself?
@@danieljoseph6404 Huh? Im sorry if someone , or you, had already wrote a similar comment before I had. But if you're insinuating I purposely stole your comment that is just false.
