I love this set. My favorite JetPens purchase.
show us some blue black fountain pen inks! (i am not a english speaker, or writer).
Who is this strange narrator? XD
Check out our guide here! www.jetpens.com/blog/The-Best-Blue-Black-Fountain-Pen-Inks/pt/767
I love blue black ink! Some amazing options you didnt mention include Micron's blue black pen, Pilot's Hi-tec C Maica, Pilot's Fude-Makase and Pilot's Petit sign pen.
I have the Maica and I really like it!
JetPens never disappoint. They offer the best stationery items.
The legendary Platinum Preppy comes in blue-black, and can be equipped either as a fountain pen (with three nib sizes), a marker, or a highlighter!
My first fountain pen ink was a blue-black, but was ironically Noodlers' Air Corps, which is rather notorious for having a green tint once on paper.
My present favorite, Diamine Twilight, is also a quite pleasant blue-black.
I LOVE BLUE BLACK INK! It has been my go-to for years and years!
Hey, Pen caps are useful. Keep the cap if you loan your pen, you'll be more likely to get your pen back and to remember to ask for it.
That’s a great tip! 😅
I *LOVE* blue-black ink. A coworker (hi Shelly!) introduced me to blue-black years ago and I just adore it!
my favorites: Uni-Ball Vision Elite, Pilot Hi-Tec-C, and I really miss the Pilot Hi-Tec-C Maica with the fancy jeweled cap!
Pilot Juice Up is easily my favorite blue black pen. Surprised the Juice and Juice Up weren’t mentioned. I do love a good blue black ink tho
YES this video was made for me. Blue black is my go to for formal documents. Just as you mentioned, I find regular blue a little too casual and regular black too boring. I knew I found my people when I subscribed 🥰
I moonlight at a pen store, and blue-black is my go to recommendation for ink colors…especially when clients tell me they don’t or can’t use “colors.” It’s not a full pen, but I think the best blue-black ballpoint refill is Monteverde’s Parker style in a (I think) 1.4 tip. It’s so smooth, and the color is quite possibly the most perfect version of blue black I’ve seen outside of fountain pen inks. 1.4 sounds huge, but it writes like a 1.0. And the best part is you get to choose your pen body!
The Pentel Energel and the Zebra Sarasa Clip are my favourite. Seeing them compared with other inks, I have to say they remain as favourites. The Energel is the overall winner simply because it dries so fast and the black is my ride or die; but both are really pretty.
does the sarasa clip dry much longer than the energel, or is it not by much? i wanna switch from energel to the sarasa clip, but im concerned if it takes a lot more to dry
I love Blue Black pens! My favorite is the Pentel Energel, with the Sarasa Clip as a close second.
Y'all forgot the fountain pen inks 🖋️ my all time favorite is Pilot Iroshizuku Shin kai 😊
Recently tried out my blue black sarasa clip (0.5) and was immediately struck by its elegance- what a nice color !
I love blue black, currently using blue black ink in my fountain pen but I have a stash of the uniball signos in blue black
Blue black is my favorite! I have the Signo 151 mentioned and the fountain pen I never take out of rotation is a Twsbi Eco T I keep Diamine 1864 Blue Black in. I think it’s easier to read on off white paper than black.
Whoa! A pen to match my favorite hair color! Thank you! I can’t wait to get some!
My UM 151 in .28 retractable blue-black is my favorite. It doesn't skip or blob like wider nibs. I like putting it in the retractable inkjoy barrel, more comfortable than any other barrel for a low grip.
I love blue black inks! My favorite to use is Zebra Sarasa Clip. But I would like to try out these other pens too!
'The Hannah Montana of Pens' LOOOOOL. Amazing.
I watched this video just to make sure you mentioned the UM-153. It's not just my favorite blue-black pen, but my favorite pen ever. They're super inexpensive, and you can buy refills! When I lost mine last year, I couldn't even wait for it to be shipped to me. I drove ~30 miles to the nearest Kinokuniya Bookstore to get a replacement as soon as I realized. :P
Absolutely my favorite ink color. I really don’t like black ink but blue black is a good replacement when black ink is required. (Especially the darker shades). One our local establishments had a sign that says when signing documents black or blue black ink only. Finally getting much deserved recognition.
Sarasa 0.4, 0.5, 0.7 blue-black are my favorites! I've used them for years! I want to try then Energel because they are so nice to write with! Thanks for this overview!
The best blue-black pen is the Fisher Space Pen in blue. It has a hint of purple if you look very carefully. I cannot find a pen that resembles that.
i love this !!! could you possibly do a comparison for brown / brown black / sepia pens as well?
I love blue black inks so many of the pens listed are already a staple for me but still I'm glad i watched this.. I was introduced to several interesting markers that i will have to check out! As always, thanks Jetpens (condolences to my wallet)
I just got into blue black pens and just received my JetPen order which included the Uniball Signo Um-151 in color blue black.
Huge fan of green black, was an accidental find
I found the Frixion blue-black pen in a bookstore at my university. I had never seen that colour, so I decided to try it (pens aren't my weakness, what are you talking about). I love it.
OMG….finally the color pens that I ONLY use!!!
I LOVE my uni-ball vision elite in blue-black AND brown-black AND red-black. If they made a green-black, I'd probably only use that for everything for the rest of my life. 😉
....i didn't even know it came in brown-black and red-black. Thanks!!!
Edit: and yes adding green to that would be fantastic
It does come in green black, actually! www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-Vision-Elite-BLX-Rollerball-Pen-0.8-mm-Green-Black/pd/9918
I'm obsessed with Uni-ball Signo 0.38 blue black and burgundy!❤
My go-to fave color! ❤❤❤❤
Ah yes, the blue black ink colour is the most versatile of ink colours. I remember ordering some Uniball RTs in blue black ink from the chain stationery store, and they worked very well for both lecture notes and thoughts. Imagine my dismay when I ran out of the ink, and had to order them online. Thanks for the video covering the best of the blue black family!
I love how the list at the very end was in the varying shades of blue black from bright to dark ☺️ JetPens, you are a happy place for me
The Energel Clena is hands down my favorite blue black in existence. I saw this video topic and I knew it would be on the list. It’s 5⭐️
I just got a platinum Procyon and it’s blue black ink cartridge is amazing!!
I'm a big fan of blue-black pens. My faves are the Sakura Pigma Micron 05 Blue Black, the Sakura Pigma Micron PN Blue Black, and the Sakura Gelly Roll Royal Blue, which I think is darker than some of the lighter blue-blacks in the video. If you notice a theme, yes, I am currently using only permanent ink pens after an unfortunate AC overflowing incident a couple of years ago that inundated a couple of my planner notebooks. The only salvagable pages were those written with Sakura Pigma Microns!
I fell in love with blue black ink when I bought a Zebra Sarasa R Gel, but upgraded to the Sarasa Grand Body. SOOOO gooood.
I love blue black ink Frixion 0.5. It is the only color I will use!!
I enjoy navy colored inks and prefer them more than the traditional blue. My favorite selections from this video are the Zebra Sarasa, Zebra Clickart Knock, and Pentel Energel. Two other favorites that aren't mentioned are the Pilot G2 and Precise V5, both in Navy.
I was just wondering what's the difference between navy and blue black?
As far as I've noticed, the words NAVY and BLUE-BLACK are used to describe a brand's dark blue ink. I would suggest to anyone that they purchase dark blue inks from different brands and compare. One might find a preference over others.
When I bought my first fountain pen (Cross Calais), the cartridges I got were all blue-black. Still my favorite ink to this day
The Pilot Neo-gel in blue-black was the first pen to start my stationary obsession. These hold a special place in my heart ❤
I would call a third of those blue black lol Just blue. Including that ball point called "one of the few blue black ball point" Pentel RSVP normal blue is darker. They also have a light blue usually sold with the pink one or the purple, but that is a light blue, very far from blue black. I think most conventional blues are the same shade of that Jetstream blue, if not darker
I use Noodlers 54th Massachusettes ink (which I got from JetPens thank you very much) in nearly all my fountain pens. It is my goto blue-black ink and looks great in my journal and is a true blue-black
Energel is my favorite for me. Pretty color and clean line
My favorite blue-black pens are the Pentel Energel Clena, which has such a beautiful body, too) and the Platinum Preppy Fountain Pen.
I just recently discovered the frixion at a local stationary store. I'm going back to get more colors. I love it!
I do love blue-black ink as my most favourite ink colour. The Uniball Signo is an interesting choice. But I normally use a fountain pen for my writing, so Sailor Shikiori - Shimoyo is the way to go :)
The Pentel Slicci blue-black is my favourite, and I find the Slicci in general more reliable than the Pilot Hi-Tec - I write to the last bit every time.
I really like my Energel Clena. Most of these look too blue to be called blue black. But the Energel is a really dark blue that I love.
BBI has been my all time fave color (darker versions) 💙 TFS. Glad more refills are becoming more available now & in fountain pen ink also.
I love these videos, you guys always pick such awesome pens. The ones in this list that I have tried are excellent and makes me very interested in trying the ones that I have not yet tried from this video!
I've been using blue-black fountain pen inks for a couple of years now (my favorite is Pilot Tsuki-yo), but recently wanted some gel pens in blue-black as well. I really like the Uni-ball Signo UMN-155 with the 0.5mm tip; I also have the UMN-151 with 0.38mm but it's too small for me so it feels scratchy. Now I might have to get the sampler you mentioned in the comments, blue-black has quickly become my favorite ink color.
Man I love a good blue black pen! I’m using a Clena blue black Energel right now!
My main pen is a Zebra SARASA Clip blue black gel pen! Personally, I love to write in blue black.
Both of my go-to pens ( sarasa & frixion ) is in blue black 💙🖤
i love all of the pens shown here!
My current blue black fav is the uni-ball Signo RT in .38
I don't know why inventing "blue black" colour for simple navy blue/dark blue. 🙄
I love UniBall Signo and Pilot HiTec C4, my favourites ❤
I need to find that Sarasa Blue Grey to add to my wish list! 😍
I have my fave Parker fountainpen inked with Waterman's mysterious blue-black
It's so nice
I love my Pilot Hi-Tec-Coleto refill pens in the blue black. I have to order 2x as many refills of this cartridge then the others. I also like the blue black of the platinum preppy fountain pen. I just recently got my first Zebra Clickart Knock sign pen in this color, but have not used it enough yet to form an opinion
Can you review the Muji cap jel pen? It's a great pen,but i never see it on this channel.
Use a refillable J. Herbin rollerball to either fill up on a Monteverde Blue/Black, or Diamine Oxford Blue cartridge, or international converter with bottled ink.
I’ve found the Pilot Juice 0.38 mm in Blue Black to be also a good choice for fine tip.
Hands down the MUJI Blue Black in 0.38 is my #1 blue black ink (sorry you guys don’t sell it). 2nd place goes to the Zebra Sarasa Clip On and 3rd is the 0.4 Hi Tec C Maica (yes, I have 2 packs of the 10 color set left and I am hanging on to them for dear life since they have been discontinued). 👍🏾
Pilot Fri Xion .38 blue-black is my fave. After watching this video I see some other interesting options.
Blue black is my colour of choice
I love my blue black Sarasa gel pen!
Love the Zebra ClickArt pens in any color!
Loved the video ❤
All Ballpoint Pens are my favourite. Next time do a video on aquamarine ink.
In my existing collection, I personally like the Zebra Sarasa vintage dark blue ink the most.
There's something about non-fountain pen blue black inks that are difficult to like... some of the above inks shown are just plain or light blue, not blue-black.
Uni Jetstream inks dry quickly... as in, they dry up within 2 weeks of starting to use the pen. I know there's a way to reactivate dried inks, but it's such a hassle to have to do it every time you haven't recently used a certain pen (AKA one out of the 20 you currently own).
Have you *seen* the streaks and unevenness at 1:15 - 1:18? Makes me wish Pilot would release Acroball refills in blue black and other colors.
I didn’t like that one bit!
When you say they dry, do you mean they don’t flow as well as before or they just don’t work at all? My uni jetstreams definitely work for well over 2 weeks with very little variation in performance over that time
@@ImNotPeso My experience with Uni Jetstream ballpoint pens might, for some reason, differ starkly from what's been advertised or touted. To answer the question: it depends on which pen/refill. (Out of 6 recent Jetstream refills I bought, only 2 of them can still barely be used; the other four just up and dried, refused to be revived.)
I vent about Uni Jetstream ballpoints more often than I should. Maybe one day Uni will sell Japan- or USA-quality Jetstreams to Malaysia, but I don't feel like that is happening soon.
@@nadiah.floots thats quite unfortunate. I’ve definitely had a couple of broken refills that just stop working, but i think thats only 2 of the 15 or so I’ve used over the last year. I just bought an energel needle tip though and I love it!
The perfect color ink!
My top blue black ink is Rohrer & Klingner Salix.
Love blue black!
I thought I was alone in my blue black love!
UniBall JetStream: *Gets mentioned*
JetPens: *THE LOW VISCOSITY INK!*
Blie black user over here. I use the Zebra Sarasa in .3 and the Zig double marker. Going to have to add the clickart to my wishlist to try out.
Bonkers. Very nice video 👍
My favorite pen color forever.
Dong-A My Gel's blue black is also good and an affordable one.
I LOVE BLUE BLACK INK!!!
My fav formal-but-fun go-to wasn't blue-black, but black gel with glitter. RIP Sakura gelly-roll black stardust, I miss you.
I prefer blue-blacks where others would use standard blue, though.
Whenever you ask that question about which pen is your favourite, I’m ALWAYS going to answer ‘Pentel Energel,’ they are THE BEST EVER! 😁
Can you make an indelible ink blue/black pen video for important documentation?
My fave color!
I wouldn't mind using blue black, but it's not something I seek out (except for in the case of the many frixion inks I use in my hobonichi cause I color code to filth)
Usually with regular non-erasiung pens, I'm using for work where I write a lot, so I wouldn't wanna be wasting these lovely pens on that XD
I do have extramely tiny handwriting tho, and pens like the pilot hi-tec-c in 0.25 and pentel energal in 0.3 have been amazing
friXion Knock blue black ink is my favorite
Excellent
I like the Muji blue/black 0.5mm pens the best
can you guys do a video on interesting stickers?
Pilot G2 Navy is the best!! I’m glad you sell refills because I’ve never seen them sold individually.
Could you make a list of pen bodies that accept the pilot g2 refills?
Hi there! You can see all the compatible products of the refills we carry under "Compatible Products" on the refill page. www.jetpens.com/Pilot-G2-Gel-Pen-Refill-0.7-mm-Black-Pack-of-2/pd/7461
I like to use blue black fountain pen, because its easy to refill on every fountain pens
yoo i am using the blue black sarasa nano 0.3 rn!
Awesome
I used them everyday but my favorite wasn’t in your selection. My favorite is the pilot G-2 07
That would leave us wondering whether we'll get a selection of white-gold pens 🙃
Hi, just asking any who knows/Jetpens:
Which grip tends to be more comfortable? (Just grip, not the ink)
Uni Alpha Gel Jetstream or the Uni-Signo 207 Premier? The ink doesn't matter because I usually do refills. Thanks!
Hi there! It depends on what kind of grip you prefer. Both grips are very comfortable and soft on the fingers, but the Uni-ball Signo 207 Premier grip is just ever so slightly firmer than the Uni Alpha Gel Jetstream's grip. However, both grips are very squishy/soft.
The Uni Jetstream's grip also collects slightly less dust than the Signo 207 Premier since it has a more matte surface.
We hope that helps!
@@JetPens Hi, thank you so much! Just one more question - I've been looking into ergonomic pencils lately, but I don't know if I should get a pen or a pencil. Which one would be more useful later on? (I would buy both but they are really expensive. Around 20 dollars 😯 )
Thank you again!
Hi there! It really depends on your preferences. Pencils are erasable and great for rough drafts, but don't come in as many colors as pens. Pencils also require a bit more pressure to write with than pens (especially options like rollerball or fountain pens).
You can learn more about some of our top ergonomic picks for pens and pencils in our guides:

@@JetPens Hi, thank so much for replying!
But. Like. How did you know blue black is my new obsession with pens?!?!
