My brother in Christ, you are one heck of a teacher. I am 64 years old. I seem to understand the concept of the piano as I get older in life. People like yourself have found easier ways to break it down. Thanks a million. 1/6/2024
I love this. I need to practice a lot to grasp it better but I get the theory. I like how what I am trying to learn from jazz pianists as well as worship pianists comes together with your content. Thank you for your videos.
Wow wow wow...Kampala is watching your blessed fingers Davin...and learning. Been wondering how you come up with the great names for your mini courses 7-3-1 and now the 2-5-1
Thanks so much for this lesson, this is my first time commenting. So I wanna ask is the 2,5,1 movement only for the fourth chord of the scale? If it is, what about the movement to the one and fifth? Thanks sir
coming late to the game... regarding the right hand... why talk in terms of the tonic.... why not talk in terms of the target chord... i.e. instead of G6... in the left hand.... think of it as the target 4th.... C7/9.... thus, you are always thinking in the direction you are going.... make sense.... (please correct my thinking as appropriate... i'm a beginner, learning this and looking for patterns..... that's just what i saw...) blessings to all.... i also noticed that in the first 2 going to the 5...if you just move the 7th down a half step (not the the 2), you get 3rd, 6th, b7, and 2nd.... less work, LOL... and an even cooler sound.. or i guess you can go with b6/13, b7, and a #9..... this is crazy...so many colors.... and you can modulate between those colors as you do the 251.... thanks..... crazy cool....

Dominant chords are used on the 5 to get to the 1. In C, it would be Gdom7 to C

Language is synonymous with an idiom. It is not unusual to hear genre and idiom used interchangeably
