You can unleash the 40+ rgb effects if you're fancy with compiling QMK. Just copy parts of the code from the drop alt/abishalom folder and remove the massdrop configurator rule.
I dont know why they would go with plate mounted stabilizers instead of implementing a screw in stabs, it doesnt sound great and it shows when it stills rattles even when you lube them. Ive never really liked drop's keyboards but if you like them then thats up to you, but ive always felt like they could do better and has potential.
Drop in general makes bad "custom" boards. My opinion still stands. I feel like most people who purchase drop boards don't know enough about keyboards and just bought one due to the hype of "getting a custom".
You have to break it down like this: The carina itself, the base is its own price, that's the pcb + the case, that's like $115 on amazon Then you have to buy the switches, invyr+drop holy Panda switches go for like, $1 a switch on amazon, or like $80 for 80 or something, the keycaps, also sold separately, as mentioned $50 on amazon, and the copper plate is also separate for around an additional $30-40 on amazon depending on the plate you choose All of these are sold separately. That's also how these kits work. Why bother getting something you're going to inevitably break into to mod something when you can just, mod it to how you like it once you get it It's like saying gunpla are scams because you don't get the model kit completed when you buy it. The whole point of gundam model kits is to Build the Kit to however the hell you want to build it to. I'm gonna constantly get annoyed reading comments like this. If drop dinged up the materials and didn't offer them in good packaging and they come in damaged, or parts were missing THEN that's a scam or just bad quality control, but bro, there are people who like to assemble their stuff together and to do it the way they like to put them together to. Why get it preassembled if you'll just tear it apart anyways and have to spend more $$$ getting different parts?

I have the same board with durock dolphin switches
Very satisfied with it
Do you know by chance the front height of the keyboard?
Do I have to do any soldering?
I was going to ask if it does support QMK as I was watching the video, but I see that it does. Thanks and congrats for the channel, I love it :D
Aw thank David! Your comment means a lot 🥲

How do you think the copper plate would pair with gat black inks? Would brass or aluminum be a better option?
Do you have to lube holy pandas, is it ok if I don’t?
Holy Pandas will feel and sound better if you lube them
Copper vs Alum vs Brass For this Board. ?
Do you have any idea if this board fits the alopow resin case that kbdfans sells? Great video!
Nice set up! What do you do with the other keyboards and desks ?!
Thanks Maryse! I keep a lot of them for comparison purposes, but I do end up selling some of them locally at a steep discount 😅
@@minimalistik ohh ! i would be really interested by some of them. I'm in Montreal !
Are the stabs included plate mounted? I have durok plate mounted stabs and really dont feel like paying $20 more. So would these be compatible?
What's the cable length that you used for this kb?
yo, love your videos! keep up the good work!
Thanks Enthly!
What keycaps
Pls put on pudding keycaps
Yes I just ordered one with pudding caps
It looks nice, but sounds terrible. If Drop would just fix their stabs, they would be so much better.
With the final tuning I gave them, it wasn’t toooo bad, but yeah not the best, and the case is bit hollow so that doesn’t help 😕
uuu copper plate :)
Yup! 😌
Hi I love your vids can you shout me out I am small and want to be a content creater it is my dream

Why are you gatekeeping keyboards. If you don't like drop boards fine but no need to tell people what is and isn't a good custom
@@lewiswatt2597 was gonna come to say this but you got it lol
@@lewiswatt2597 If you don't wait 3 years for a group buy or drop at least 500 dollars on a custom board you can't be in this hobby!
$290 and you had to assemble it yourself? Scam
Welcome to the world of custom keyboards haha!

this keyboard is overpriced and not good :)
This keyboard is above average with a simple 10 dollar Durock stabilizer replacement, when things like the NK65 and TOFU65 are always out of stock :)
