- If you had to guess, where do you think you would find the period-world's thinnest chronograph movement? An avante garde sports watch from some haute horology brand? Or in an unassuming 34mm piece from a Quartz Crisis-ravaged Blancpain?

"Cool battery, Bro! Now, look what I made!" LOVE IT!!!
The all Villeret collection is unbelievable.
I would really like to see that movement, since it is basically the centerpiece of this video.
Thank you, Mark, for great content and the education behind watchmaking. I didn’t realize the brand restarted in 1983. I did own a black dial Villeret with a date in 40mm, the watch was awesome. I traded it for a Patek 5396 rose gold annual calendar. I now want to purchase the air command by Blancpain. Your videos are excellent, you present with confidence and calmness, very smooth and knowledgeable.
Cool story. JCB definitely plays by his own rules so it doesn’t really surprise me that this is so great. Showing the movement would’ve been nice, but I guess it will stay a truly “hidden” gem.
Great presentation but i really miss the shots of the backcase and movement
great vid as usual
I love learning all of the history of these watches. Thanks!
All that talking about how nice the movement is and there isn’t any picture of it ?!!
And how thin it is and we can’t see how thin the actual watch is
I didn't know about this watch. Thank you. Extremely impressed by it. I love subtlety
Nice presentation as usual but overall really let down by no pics of this movement you talk about. Thanks Mark.
And Blancpain even made it with a perpetual calendar, an moonphase and automatic (and the chronograph) and it all comes in a case 34mm by 11mm. But people still think Patek makes good watches.
I always look forward to the next hidden gem...keep them coming!
Awesome video! Thank you!!!
As usual, I learned something from you. Thanks.
This story makes the watch a wonderful piece of history, so I had to get one! 6’ wrist, so it fits perfectly. 1735…
Cool video, I have 5 neo vintage Blancpain an must say, all 5 are hidden gems ✌️
I love your contents Mark, so interesting and educational. Compliments!
Soooo, noticed that Nate disappeared on RUclips after Hodinkee bought C&C. What’s up with that?
Mark H. crushing it, as usual. 👏
That's a Picasso on a strap. Great video!
Thank you for the nice video it is truly a hidden gem and an incredible watch. Just to be entirely sure is it a female watch? I cannot find that information anywhere else. Br. Michael
The 1185 Chrono movement seems to be the inspiration for the Rolex 4130.. it’s very similar in design. Just no hacking on the 1185 and lower power reserve.
JCB one of my Heroes !
Can this unified machine be purchased now?
Blancpain watches not named Fifty Fathoms are a great deal for something with AP level finishing
👏 Bravo
I have recently had to selly entire collection as a result of my divorce. As I am building myself up again,I am looking into what my next watch will be and I think this is it. I'm leaning towards steel but considering the gold. I have actually become more interested in only owning small watches. I've never had a 34mm but I'm sure I will enjoy
It's an awesome watch but I'm not sure who is going to buy a 34mm these days. Is there a similar watch in 39-42mm available these days?
Yes
Yes you can get the same movement in the BP 38mm case with the screw down crown and pushers.
👍🏻
I have this one, an heirloom of my dad :)
