I don't like the fact that he is not showing Belphegor or Rotting Christ...but I know that Belphegor bearly do live interviews but still...I would love to hear one of these black metal bands say their name :)
I have seen Venom around 3 times..all times I think were at Millwaukee metal fest.not sure..but..for sure I had really come to hear bands like Immolation and Coroner was even playin i think one time..and also Sadus..so i missed some of Venom to see my heros..but..again let me say they lost a sound line somewhere..only took a few seconds to fix..but some were booing.i say fuck ya..the show was top notch,.ive not ever seen venom when the show was not the whole deal..great shows..thanks to ya..
For me, American's do dramatic music better, 'cos they're dramatic people. They do symphonic black metal than they do traditional black metal. Norway being such a cold country, and the rest of Scandinavia really, the essence of black metal is captured so much better by people growing up in that climate. That's how I look at it anyway :)
@TransylvanyanForest Yeah I know that now. I reacted too quickly when I assumed he meant King Diamond. It was one of my stupid moments I admit it. I see so much crap on here about King Diamond I just assumed too quickly that is who he meant
and after listening to all the first 3 parts of this documentary, you thought that black metal was about making something different? This is false, black metal is about carrying on the traditions of the early black metal bands, its about a common ideology that they wish to express. Its about beliefs, feelings, the music is entirely secondary to what black metal truly represents...until you understand this, you cannot know black metal as we do. It isn't me calling you stupid. It is simply reality
Why is king ov hell talking like he knows black metal? he wasn't even around during the early days of black metal how would he know what real is he is a poser and why isn't infernus doing this interview instead of king?
@greatcornholio100 Well, Black Metal bands(from Norway and Sweden anyway) probably had to sing in English to reach a greater audience. Then US bands hopped on the band wagon
I've read your comments and your lack of ability to communicate without verbal attacks is hilarious on one hand and tragic on the other. Venom created nothing other than the term 'Black Metal'. Musically they were a rock n' roll band with Motley Crue style satanic imagery. You only need to look and listen to the very first Bathory album to HEAR the sound the we now call True Black Metal. And it was born is Sweden, not Norway.
what about south america ? there are mid 80´s bands that were black metal... it is useless to see this kind of documentaries they only talk about the norway scene , blah blah blah
black metal in a nutshell HEY Im real black metal, no your not i am, that sucks im better, that isnt legit, this is why this black metal is better then that black metal, that isnt black metal blah blah blah
the first slayer album is black metal. absu are a great american black metal band. thy infernals first album satans wrath is really good. judas iscariot has some really good albums out. leviathan are really good as well. gloomy grim is a fucking joke. tristania is not black metal. if the muis is not metal and the lyrical content not satanic it is not black metal!
I like Dark Funeral, they are really good, althought their clothes are so fucking ridiculous... Gorgoroth, were good I think, Ghal's voice is good... Maybe every country has their own sound, american BM, it's different from Norwegian BM, and this is different from Swedish, and this is also different from, Italian or wherever, and you can heard the difference... at the end, every country in the fucking world has shitty bands and good bands
Stop arguing about who's better to one another, besides, all of us are followers of METAL MUSIC,so why hate and kick ass people like Justin Bieber,Britney Spears and also HIPHOP morons! :-)
@musicfolife1 1. He meant hiphop not rap 2. Rap and Hiphop is just crap, its nerds who makes the beats and synth for the artists and they "sings in it" + it dont take skills to rap, everyone can do it in a short periode of practice. 3. He is a spoiled child, one of his live video he threw down a drum set and a synth box on the floor just to look "cool" for the "girls".
I bought this documentary.
I returned it.
course it matters where you live. your surroundings and how you grew up reflect in your music. it goes for bob dylan, black sabbath, loads of bands.

@greatcornholio100 Well, Black Metal bands(from Norway and Sweden anyway) probably had to sing in English to reach a greater audience. Then US bands hopped on the band wagon
why the fuck are the top comments the same ?
I've read your comments and your lack of ability to communicate without verbal attacks is hilarious on one hand and tragic on the other.

Hmmm.... They have a really good sound (Bathory)... But it isnt true black (similar tough).... more like the beginning of the vikng metal sound...
@ponyboy1488 check the Les Legiones Noires and you wont talk shit about french black metal
I admit that it is very similar, but it (and some other songs) is an exception ....
Vennom is not true black metal at all ....
black metal in a nutshell HEY Im real black metal, no your not i am, that sucks im better, that isnt legit, this is why this black metal is better then that black metal, that isnt black metal blah blah blah
@Akriminious Thats some weak trolling dude. And for everyone else, Ive found some already, so Im good.
the first slayer album is black metal. absu are a great american black metal band. thy infernals first album satans wrath is really good. judas iscariot has some really good albums out. leviathan are really good as well. gloomy grim is a fucking joke. tristania is not black metal. if the muis is not metal and the lyrical content not satanic it is not black metal!
how embrassing @ 5:45 hahaha
@ohmypregnanthead Wearing your own bands merch looks cheesy and self absorbed to me. Its something Lars Ulrich would do.
I like Dark Funeral, they are really good, althought their clothes are so fucking ridiculous... Gorgoroth, were good I think, Ghal's voice is good...

@Fall4Kingdom
bands with classic albums like slayer never die...so : good choice !
Stop arguing about who's better to one another, besides, all of us are followers of METAL MUSIC,so why hate and kick ass people like Justin Bieber,Britney Spears and also HIPHOP morons! :-)
maybe you should listen to the early albums. Bathory, Venom and Hellhammer is true black metal. Todays shit is clown metal.
@musicfolife1
1. He meant hiphop not rap
2. Rap and Hiphop is just crap, its nerds who makes the beats and synth for the artists and they "sings in it" + it dont take skills to rap, everyone can do it in a short periode of practice.

Hehe.... ja (yes)... But I think everything new that this bands have made is really shitty!....
