3:50 - second from the left in bottom row there is Entheogen's "Without veil, nor self" casette. Excellent album and I highly - highly! - recommend checking it out.
Nyrst are awesome 👍💪! Solstifar were one of the originators of Iceland black metal 👍 To all those commenting about the reporter stating that black metal started in Norway by Mayhem, DT, Burzum ect, how much time do you think he really put into this 5 min segment? I recon Mortal Sins song ‘ Maheymic destruction “ from 86 was way a head of its time in brutality!
Black metal was international, second wave black metal had bands with a particular kind of notoriety, but this scene started off with the likes of Von from Hawaii to Sigh in Japan to NME in Seattle to Sarcofago in Brazil.
Saw them live in Montreal 3 years ago, depending on where you live, you might not have to travel all the way there. It was absolutely amazing as you would expect, I hope you can experience this too one day \m/
it was wonderful being a kid in 2014/2015, when the scene was peaking. Now, Svartidauđi are disbanded, and Mystiskaos is no more. Maybe it should stay like that, being a joyful fragment in our memory of good music. Thank you Island for the unforgettable musicality, lyrics and terrific cover art
if you compare icelandic bm with finnish scene and swedish one then you probably don't know icelandic bm 🤣 while most bands from the latter two are more or less sticking with second wave aesthetics and styles, icelandic bands are putting more efforts in challenging established norms of the genre, creating much more original, inspiring, avantgarde, "modern" type of black metal. here we have the future of black metal 🖤🖤
Cool, but... historical revisionism! Didn't really originate from Norway, it just skyrocketed from there. Venom, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost laid the foundation, Bathory gave it the sonic edge that continued in the Norwegian scene.
"angelic choirs and chainsaws"
So glad that Sól án varma came to full fruition. I'm loving the album so far.
My AOTY by far! Sól án Varma is a beast unleashed.
This is awesome. Long may it last.
recently got to see misthyrming live, such an underrated band
Best scene going on right now by far, Iceland has some amazingly talented bands for sure!

ok, im moving to Iceland
They seem like very reasonable people
Icelandic black metal its cool
I've been checking out Mispyrming lately. This solidified the coolness for me. I also relate to the cassettes, it brings back my childhood!

My dream is to see Misþyrming in person, one day. Some day. Either in the USA. Or Iceland if I have to go there. One day this will happen.

what's the song at 1:10?
Black metal musicians don't kill each other any more. It's not that cool.
🌎cool⚡👍🔔

This is the full version. It was a short section after the evening news.
@@hv1225 okay, thanks. Unfortunately it's so short

Sorry but Black metal was not invented in Norway by those bands at all
Exactly lol. More research needed by whomever produced this.
Black metal was seeded elsewhere but came to fruit for what it is now in Norway in the early 90's, exactly what they explained.
The Black Metal we know today was created in Norway, by Euronymous and Snorre, they were the pioneers of that grim tremolo picking guitar sound...
Smooth brain take. If you listen to an average bm band these days, chances are its gonna sound like mayhem/burzum and not sarcofago or celtic frost
'Black Metal' was created in "ENGLAND" --- You Muppets = VENOM
