  • Basic Guard Recovery - Side Control Escape
    Key Points to remember:
    - Start with arms framed and Knees bent to perform a good bridge and Hip Escape.
    - Remember to get all the way on your side when you Hip Escape out.
    - Knee cuts across partners mid-section and also acts as a knee shield to help prevent getting smashed.
    - If your foot gets stuck while finishing to full guard, Hip Escape to the same side as the trapped foot to get your foot free to close your guard.
