Join experienced karate instructor Liz Janze as she explores the traditional martial arts, using mind, body, and spirit to enhance eye-hand coordination, focus, and physical literacy. Throughout the course, participants progress through fundamental karate techniques, including punching, kicking, and blocking.
    Karate-do, translating to "empty hand" and "way/path," signifies that karate extends beyond self-defence-it's a way of life. Engaging in karate practice emphasizes power, agility, balance, and stress management. Beyond physical aspects, training in karate strengthens the musculoskeletal system, improves muscle toning, and improves posture. It also boosts concentration and self-esteem.
    This inclusive series is designed for individuals of all abilities-no prior experience is necessary. A modified seated version of the movements is also available.
