I love the new spray fertiliser tool but as well as buying that device you should have bought a funnel for when you were pouring the liquid goodness into the device. Ive dove deep into this subject. Biogold has given me such good ramification on my maples its very balanced like 5 -5-5 which maples like that are in refinement.. It is expensive though but for trees in refinement its prob a good idea to use that bec of the low npk.They dont like to be pumped up at the refinement stage . My maples in pots i do osmocote the pink bottle which is a higher npk. I just started using grow power 12 -8-8 on all my bonsai trees in bonsai pots mostly jbp and junipers. its all natural and i use the teabag method . I think the natural kind is better bec it will leave behind less salts and like u said some people say it has better nutrients. I do use silica in the fall to protect roots from freezing in the winter but as far as fish oil and seaweed i havnt tried them.i read too much about attracting animals and bees i dont need that but i never used it so idk. I guess if im worried about that i can always dilute it alot. I did hear they are very good for trees and i think u can buy a fish emulsion and seaweed extract together in one bottle.Also i bought some rocks online called dragon stone thats used for aquariums a little pricey but very good looking stones for some penjing. Its on amazon also.

    • @TonysBonsai
      @TonysBonsai  Год назад +1

      Yes, in Ptere's video, he talks at length about biogold. He basically says its the best you can get, but he reserves it for certain trees as it's just too expensive. He also says to hold off from fertilising maples at this time of year if they are in refinement just as you say. I'm happy to jet have everything growing at the moment. Last year some of my beech trees went yellow because of lack of fertiliser, so this year I'm determined to do a better job.

    What more can I say - exactly what was needed. I started with the miracle gro and then ended up having too many trees for the constant mixing. I use the orgainc pellets but do find they often grow a beautiful 'fuzz' on them. I will be honest i should do more fertilsing regimes but often I dont fertilse at all. Expenses and time seem to be the variable for me. I will check out the Peter warren link - thanks for that.

    • @TonysBonsai

      That's exactly my problem. Last year I barely fertilised at all, which is fine if the soil has plenty of compost in it, but with my mix now not having any in it at all, I know that I need to add the nutrition. Tony, get a room with your fertilisers or go in the perfume business. Joking aside, Miracle Grow is a good quick feed, but Biogold pellets are the best. Just push about 3 into the soil in the spring , and they will feed your trees all summer long. One drawback they are expensive but cheaper than those big containers you're buying. I've been using them for years, and you can see the difference. John (Belfast)

    • @TonysBonsai
