- In this video I describe what happened to my brand new n Gauge Flying Scotsman after a few days of running on the layout and how I fixed it. Iv also corrected some niggly points, and track that were causing the loco to derail.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and given me advice and commented on my progress in this model railway world, and I hope you all have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay safe and warm folks!

Hi Steve, thank you so much for the shout out, it's very kind of you.
Wow, you're brave taking on fixing that loco, it looked so fiddly, hats off for persevering and getting it running again.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas and New year.
Take care
Gemma
Hi Gemma and thanks for the comment. No problem with the shout out as Stephen from Elevenhome did the same for me and I thought others would appreciate the work you've done as well. Have a great xmas and happy and new year to you and yours.
Regards
Steve
Hi Steve, crikey! I wouldn’t have attempted to fix the loco on camera, there would be to many bleeps! N gauge is so fiddly but you done very well and well done on fixing that problem. I find it so annoying after paying a lot of money for something to find it’s faulty in some way, it seems to happen a lot with model railways.
Happy Christmas Steve to you and your family, cheers for now mate, John
Hi Steve! Very well done on fixing the Scotsman! They're fiddly little blighters to handle aren't they? Cheers, Ian.
I'm glad the gloves helped Steve. Great minds obviously think alike with one of your shout-outs as you will see with my video later today. Dapol steam locos are very delicate beasts. The diddy wires between the loco and tender will snap if you just look at them in the wrong way, so they had no chance when the locating screw on the tie bar came away. Not very good that the brass retainer wasn't properly glued in. I think Dapol is going to move away from having the motor in the tender with the drive shaft to the loco to turn the wheels. The draft shaft is a real pain and pops out easily. As you try to get it back in, if you are not very careful the wires break!. You did a good job to get it all back and working. It is important to have the confidence to try to fix things because over time you will encounter the need for maintenance. Nice to see it running around the layout . Merry Christmas to you and your family. Stephen
Hi Steve you did very well sorting the Flying Scotsmen out. like the running session at the end. Colin
Thanks Colin, it was very fiddily. The small wires are a pain to repair but I think I've got it sorted now, just taking very great care in handling it these day's.

Steve
Hi Steve. I had to come and find you. You have a nice layout. I have subbed and liked. As an ex trucker I have visited most of the valley's in south Wales. Yes Happy new year to you and your family. Regards Alan in the loft in Dover :o)
Thanks for the sub Alan !
Hi Steve - its amazing how all these little jobs pile on a model railway. Always good when you get something fixed that wasn't perhaps working the way you had intended. Love that big bridge along the back of the layout. Cheers Euan
That certainly looked a fiddly job well done on fixing it but you shouldn’t have to quality control not working cheers Al
Hi just found your channel and subscribed, nice set up in your shed! Great to see another N Gauge channel! Cheers Gary
Thanks Gary, it's very much appreciated
